Hotel RIU Varadero^{(4.5 stars)}

The rooms are very spacious, equipped amongst others with a safe, iron, fully-stocked minibar, air conditioning, tv with a german program. Also shampoo, shower gel and body lotion were repeatedly refilled. Sometimes lie the rooms in areas, where it in the night quite loud is. Our room was in clean state, other guests made other experiences. The cleaning the room was not always satisfactory.

Who for monotonous, luke warm and tasteless meal gladly queue, the will love it. Lots of dishes came 3 times a day on the buffet. With patience, persistence and understanding it is possible however, always full. The food was' international '. It helps, if you have relatively low expectations arrive. In the large restaurant it was usually very loud, dinner in shorts and flip flops is possible. On coffee and so-called orange juice one should in the restaurant do. The rooms have all the bathroom and the shower/toilet hair dryer, air conditioning, colour tv Deutsche Welle, small cd player, large safe for laptop, coffee maker, minibar, iron and are spacious, new and modern equipped.

They have a 2 buffet-style restaurant to breakfast, lunch and dinner. You get a clean set of space. The selection of dishes is sufficient. Everything there: salad bar, fresh bread, warm dishes with meat, side dishes, vegetables, soups, fish etc. Freshly prepared (show-cooking) are daily fish, prawns, chicken, beef and pork, pizza and pasta. What else could you want? They are on Cuba! In other 5 stars hotels (i was) you get not more or better food. The staff and the cooks are on the ball (even without giving any tip, which naturally also gladly taken is). The specialty restaurants are also recommended. Free reservation possible.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They never a lack of towels in the room. The mini bar is refilled. The rooms were daily and thoroughly cleaned. In the restaurant you always got a nice place, the table, cleared and constantly is your drinks' refilled '. The front desk is also tried as the waiters at the bar. The staff speaks mostly at least english. There is a spa area, a laundry and a good doctor on the complex. It is caribbean, leisurely too. Cuba!

You may table tennis. Tennis, gym, windsurfing, pedal boats, catamaran (in company) use. Diving is with a local providers offered and is also of the dives great value for money. They have a internet cafe. The pool is huge and the loungers with cushions were always available, showers, umbrellas etc.. Everything available. Just a few strides to the beautiful sandy beach. A mini club for children with play it by the pool.

It is a good, now 2 years old hotel area, in the beach resort of Varadero on Cuba. Varadero has a really beautiful, long beach section the island. It is a large hotel area with 1100 rooms, with 2 parts. The complex is with all-inclusive bookable. The types of people are as with all caribbean destinations mostly 'north american' -canadians to about 70%, depending on the season, mixed with europeans and south americans. The hotel is only through green from the beautiful long sandy beach. The distance from the airport is approximately 35 minutes to Havanna, it is about 2,5 hours drive. Also in advance a round trip or a city in Havanna to book is. Only so learn Cuba really know and 'love'. More trips with the katamaran and butterfly or after el nicho Trinidad are easily accessible via the local TUI tour guide in the hotel to book. Very large clean room no complaints. Very good service the maid service.

Smirk buffet without any variety. Chairs were partly very dirty. It is meat freshly grilled yes but it does only 2a 3 piece and 10 is possible in the queue, to you meat has crime already times 30 to 40 minutes ( this is not a joke). Vegetables up to sour gherkins none, dessert some fruit and cake. So we mainly from fish fed and so the first time from the vacation with minus on the dare come back. Cocktails there are evenings a bar in the lobby for all inclusive wait and gepantsch that passes. On one day there were no spoons for glasses on the next day vice versa.

Except for the maid, the a very good job has, you get the impression one is requestor and not on holiday. Around 800 guests you informed us be the hotel 80 beach towels allocated? On step of the TUI tour operator locally we have 2 times in 14 days beach towels got. And the Riu prices? TUI is every day with a tour operator represented the his job with a lot of diligence says but he can't witches. For example until we towels got were 4 hotel staff 3 hours busy, afterwards I have on the subject of towels resigned and the a five star hotel?

We have Cuba once seen and never again. Unfortunately no Riu standard as from Riu used. My recommendation, bay Riu in the domenikanischen republic or in Mexico. No comparison to Cuba. I say it again Cuba never again

Very lovely beach and location. On closer look at is the beach themselves and gammelt. There are staff without limits but there is the whole day only stupid rum and cigars sell. Extreme harassment by beach vendors all possible sell, even in the water and sleeping on the couch one was harassed. The security is with the sellers on the beach under a blanket and warns them before police respectively bunkert with polizeianrücken the product. So we are still nowhere on the world hassled. Please do not the loungers at the mangrowen walkest, as extreme smell disturbance, is a toilet from the security and rettungswimmern and traders use.

ADA was the best maids. Mini bar is filled up every two days and if se earlier was empty, you could at the front desk order :-) Restocked beer, water, limo and Cola. The air conditioning has worked smoothly.

The food had variety for cuban standards, very good. You have to know, that you are in a country, where the grundversorgungslebenmittel very tight. National rice with beans there was always ;-) Seafood there were every day! Every taste was met except one is a wurstsalatvanatiker ;-) I don't know what the other German because to complain about have. Okay. There was no Schnitzel:-)

Rene best barkeeper! ( pool bar) Rigo best service at the buffet ( with spanish lessons) Hubert best man TUI and the nice blond lady at the transfer. Luis best service at the 24 st. Snackbar. If you are thirsty, you could to 8 bars drinks get in the entire resort. There is better?

If you bock, you could very many sporting activities participate, like for instance water aerobics, pedal boats, catamaran drive, volleyball games, funny games with the entertainment, pool party always lunch and once a week pool party at night ( best party which I in Cuba experienced I) Really great I found the live music, the unfortunately only sometimes arrived at noon. Great singer.

Hotel for Cuba standards very good! Room clean, safe free of charge, very good entertainment the whole day until into the night. ( 24 st. Drinks and food, great!) Staff and the other guests very open and friendly good party spirit from all sides. You feel by the cuban music very relaxed and you can tell, that one in Cuba ( Karibik) arrived. The cuban dream! Drinks and food is very good bearable no problems had, I have been other met in Cuba ( no joke)

The caribbean sea is of course for some brilliant than the atlantic ocean. Unfortunately was the sea a little jerky. You could nevertheless relax. The temperatures were very pleasant hot.

Decor was ok. , cleanliness could be better, unfortunately hardly to gardenia towels and hardly fresh bedding.

For vegan and vegetarian is this hotel a absolute find. There was as good as never meat, what not only uS, but also many other guests from Germany noticed. Interesting was the cuban kitchen anyway, because what was cooked was because of missing spice no taste and changed within the two weeks never. Just however it was, a place in the buffet restaurant to get, if you evenings the first was, apart from that was the law, if you first there is, get a table and at least something reasonably hot food. The entire hotel stood evenings for about 750 guests only the lobby bar available, what that hoarding on counter inevitably supported. Also here, incomprehensible, that it is a Riu hotel action is!

The staff hard-working itself as a part of your possibilities, it was missing however too many everyday things, so that one not of a great service to speak could. Friendliness was some inborn, other absolutely not known. Different - our room was very spacious, air conditioning, balcony, bathroom, tv mini bar ( every second day free refill ), spacious safe, telephone, iron and ironing board! Cleanliness very varied and depending on the amount of tip! ;-)

2 restaurants and 5 specialty restaurant, which qualitatively very different! Seafood that is unacceptable! ;-) Cleanliness in the dining room and in the restaurants is ok! Dishes typical of the country Dining room quite loud and against prospektgeschreinung the clothes some north americans, etc. Much to be desired! Staff are very friendly! English nearly all - front desk sometimes German! Laundry ( change of towels) very problematic, since towels apparently rarity! Beach towels were partly several day not available and could therefore not be dipped! Complaints are welcome, but not really worked!

Fitness room is available, but very unhygienic! Animation, kids club, disco and access to the internet available but didn't use it! Main pool very loud ( animation) and Ballermann! The relaxation pool is relatively quiet, but there are only a few protection from the sun ( umbrella rarity) - badetuchtausch was daily basis not possible, since no new towels were there and the staff also never knew, when there again which gets!

The hotel is nice and very spacious! The accommodation ( room) are more building distributed! 2 pool - about 25 sun screens;-) Catering all inclusive Guest structure international-German-benelux - Canada - China

Hotel's own beach - however very narrow, loungers without cushions! On the complex several small shops apart from that by bus or taxi to Varadero! Whereby Varadero not' Cuba' is, but just Varadero ( tourists -Cuba)! Trip possibilities sufficient!

Rooms were nice and big. The bathroom was spacious, however the bathtub was certainly way too high for someone not particulary good go or the legs not so high get around to shower (dangerous/danger of slipping).

Quality of the dishes directly nothing in every restaurant. We were from all other Riu hotels not used. There were at least variety with the meals. Restaurant atmosphere just a train station.

Hopelessly overburdened staff. Not trained in service, so if the guests finished with food, only a table was being cleared if no more space there was. Clean mugs, plates and so on you had to out if you a clean plates food or from a clean mugs wanted to drink. Cleaning of the rooms superficial and only in case of a complaint was the room of dust exempt and cleaned properly. Staff were partly very friendly and other rather the opposite. A clean beach towel was nearly impossible in 2 weeks we could 5 time our beach towel change however only, because we complained about it and we then from the travel guide got.

Absolutely no Riu standard, neither for the food in the cleanliness. Food mostly cold and dosenware hardly fresh fruits besides bananas and pineapple rest is also from the can. Ballermann for Canada. Over 1100 room is for someone who wanted to relax way too big. Approximately 50 rooms were german taken.

Because of the massive size the hotel was the distance to the beach accordingly large. But the one could afford one has time and vacation. Daily one could use with the double decker bus for 5 cuc (day ticket) to the village and the shopping center go. Excursions could be over TUI book.

The room was big enough and clean, but had little storage space for a family, why we on the floor/ in bags store had. We also had 2 times great cockroaches in the bathroom, probably through the loose abflußsieb in the shower crawled are... The balcony was also large, unfortunately we got, although we 3 persons were only 2 chairs. The mini bar, as well as the coffee is every 2 days filled up, otherwise there was a large bottle of rum to welcome.

The food in the buffet-style restaurant and pool bars is american embraced-much fries and hamburgers but all in good quality. Good was the beach with the freshly prepared pasta. The quality in the specialty restaurants especially the sea food restaurant and asian restaurant i found very good. Unfortunately you get per week only 2 reservations in the specialities restaurants. If it is not full however, you can try meter h. of tip still to get a table. I think the is worthwhile definitely. Unfortunately there was not in all specialties restaurant kids menu (and no willingness for example a few pasta abzukochen or elsewhere to get ), so that we then sometimes even noodles /fries to the dessert in the buffet restaurant in/out privileges. The cleanliness in the pool-and beach restaurant left unfortunately much to be desired, there was often food on the floor. Otherwise the sea gulls with catering waste directly in front of the restaurant angefüttert -very unsanitary! Unfortunately i found, that for evenings no open air restaurant or open terrace there is. You can sit as trapped in air-condition restaurant and many have dimmed window, so that you are not on outside can see. For everyone the hotel is evenings very beautifully lit and has a great atmosphere.

The service was very good, especially large silvesteransturm from Canada. Afterwards nor always very friendly but one needed some patience for the sometimes long waiting periods. The staff spoke very good english. For the entertainment for kids (english/spanish) is a nice equipped building available, however were always little children. But we didn't use, pool and beach have been enough. Very nice was the kinderüberraschung to christmas, there came santa Claus at the beach and brought all child a small gift. Otherwise every evening there was a kid's show to participate in the theatre.

The pools were nice varied designed and always clean. The beach in front of the hotel was somewhat narrow and therefore with chairs cramped. At other areas in Varadero for example also Varadero city it more beautiful beaches. The water was super clearly and pleasantly warm. At the beach there is free rental of catamaran, windsurfbrettern and pedal boats. We are often with the tretboot rausgefahren. Loungers and umbrella there were in any case enough at the beach and mostly by the pool. Unfortunately there are at the beach direct toilets, and the next showers are available in front of the hotel buildings. Worth mentioning i found the very high quality the evening entertainment. So good singer and dancer you will find rare in a hotelclub.

The hotel complex is beautifully designed and very clean. We had stayed in several rather bad hotels on a Cuba round trip and were very relieved that Riu Varadero in conclusion booked. In sum a good hotel but certainly not with the standard (dining, room), the we Riu in other countries (Spain, North Africa) knew. We had a room the royal, therefore something widens way to the main restaurant, the kids club and front desk. For this really nearby at the beach and very peaceful. The hotel was over new year's eve very, very crowded, especially with canadians, russians, chinese, rather little german. That the canadians to party there were okay, but that some at noon already drunk by the complex walked, did bother me a bit. Over new year's eve i would therefore not anymore go there.

The hotel lies relatively far outside on Varadero, all around there is no restaurants or shops, but still some building sites from which you in the hotel receives however nothing. However it invites not a apart from the beach for a walk. We have from the hotel several excursions made, apart from that it would have been too quiet. The excursions we over the pub offerers booked, the was completely reasonable. TUI was too expensive and could the implementation never guarantee.

Rooms are large, relatively new. Safe free of charge, air conditioning, balcony room was clean, mini bar every other day filled and without extra charge all soft drinks were, as well as Berry accessible.

We had as most in the hotel all inclusive and I have to say too much. The food was nicely surprised. The breakfast buffet is sufficient, daily fresh fruit ( bananas, Mango, Avokado, melons and so on) 2 chefs make omelets to order, large selection of bread, pancakes, donuts furnace, the food repeated but is not bad.
