The hotel normally, is both internally and externally very clean. The room and the bathroom are not the biggest, but one can live with it. A drops of oil, a washer or a rubber seal locked at the doors, would be the noise level in the hotel much lower. The hotel is located at a main street with much traffic, the at night as well not completely rests. If so which sturgeon, t should a room to the rear to give leave. It didn't bother us, we enjoyed the view from the balcony the missing tv replaced, because on the ... street was always which loose and it gave in the few time which we in the room were always something to see. To complain about would be the extra charge for fridge and air conditioning and also the lack of hair dryer you actually today in every hotel, no matter which price range, expect. read more

    As I have already mentioned, the room and also the bathroom, were not the greatest. There was a nice balcony. The other things you from hotel rooms knows, we didn't miss anything. The hair dryer we had already.

    The breakfast was each morning so good as always directly. The same bread, the same sausage and the same jams. But it was in any case enough. The coffee was excellent and always hot. The morning eggs were however somewhat took some getting used to. Cooking time, estimated 15 minutes The dinner buffet was the price-performance -proportion adjusted. Enough, but not too very varied. But the fresh salads, to itself presentation, excellent. Dessert there was daily, cakes, as well as fresh fruits

    There actually nothing to fault. The staff, ausschl. Female, Is extremely young, accommodating and very friendly... And one speaks German. So in the relation is no problems. The rooms are regularly cleaned in the morning, the towels and bed sheets every second day changed. ( the hand towels are unfortunately a little hard. As also helps no fabric softener more.) Who health problem and need medical help, the can be helped. On the 'food court' there is a 'clinic'. Reachable in circa 15 minutes on foot.

    Unfortunately were the entertainment possibilities besides 'eat out' respectively 'shopping' thin on the ground. Most fun we had those, the a Car, a quad, or a scooter borrowed have. Quads and mopets were everywhere to find, to the disappointment of those in open restaurant a seafood platter or lamb shank to mind directed. Exhaust gas and fuel smell everywhere. The beach was clean and every morning tidy. The water was clear and clean. Downside: a umbrella and two loungers, cost 4,00 Euro. It läppert in 2 or 3 weeks.

    The location of the hotel is actually, apart from the mentioned street, excellent. It is about 10 minutes to the beach the fine sandy beach is probably one the best around Stalis and Malia. For child and kin suitable. On the way to the beach you cross a so-called ' food and shopping. ' A long street, where restaurants and shops alternate. You can very good and cheap food. A good variety to the half board in the hotel. Evenings ideal for strolling and shopping. Entertainment possibilities are however also on this' mile ' rare. The bop we have, neither for young or old discover could. TV in the bars and restaurants, too many in English language one finds before.

We are for a few years of regular guests. This hotel is for simple people in the best way suitably. The value for money is excellent. The kitchen is typical of the country and delicious. This hotel from a friendly family run. read more

Nice, tastefully equipped hotel. We liked it on the whole a very good experience. Drawbacks you at the variety the food make. For breakfast there was every morning exactly the same (selection rather modest), tasted however immaculate. Evenings has the food within the 2 weeks at least partly repeated, positive was the large salad buffet to you a fantastic Greek salad even could put together. To criticize was varied quality of the food, on one day it really tasted very good, at the next it was rather took some getting used to. The staff were very friendly and eager to ... help, the communication in German and English wasn't a problem. The rooms were big enough ( on Kreta you want to not the whole day in the room spend ), were every day cleaned and all together a very well-kept impression made. The furniture was partly a bit shabby, but one must evenly for the main very good value for money also no luxury accommodation expect. This is probably, the largest problem the 'worse' reviews. The lots of people of everything expect, but as nothing but pay want. You get here certainly not 'luxury accommodation', but a good place to stay for a fair price. Can definitely recommend this hotel read more

Because of the good reviews we booked the Hotel Marlena. Unfortunately I can not understand. The rooms are shabby, the bathroom tiny and the towels have also the best times behind itself. Air conditioning, fridge and safe should be paid separately. The choice of food is very sparse. But tastes. The coffee really tasty! Stalis is a pretty place for swimming, shop and relaxation. Therefore for us it was in spite of the disappointing hotels a lovely vacation. read more

It had the hotel because of the many positive Reviews, maybe it was my attitude to the hotel too positive, and the disappointment all the greater. The family hotel from five women run, the friendliness limited to the charwoman and one of the daughters apart from that not even a nice day. The bathroom is so small and the shower with 70 times 70 centimeters nothing for older people! The breakfast buffet is very sparse and everyday the same= \u2639 during dinner we have to say Greek home cooking not to everyone's taste. All together very carelessly, above all in ... the morning the cooked eggs from Eve cold! Service you should not expect there. About 40° in the room it is unbearable! So you have to reluctantly the air conditioning in addition to buy. 35€ the week. 10 €the fridge and 8 €the safe. My conclusion a charming hotel however no three stars in every German youth hostel there is a better service. For young people it is okay but never again Marlena. Sorry read more

    The rooms have a good size and have all balcony. The rooms sin very clean and have no tv ( really great!). Wi-fi you can in the lobby free of charge. Bath with a toilet rather small, small shower. On the ground floor no air conditioning but fan, ran with us the night on stage 1. On the top floor air conditioning against an extra charge of 5,00 Euro per day. Small room safe against a fee from 8 €/ week.

    Breakfast offers no variations and consists of 3 types of jams, hazelnut spread, honey, sheep cheese, 2 sorts of bread, cakes, 2 sorts of cornflakes (normal and with schokogeschmack ), canned peaches, yoghurt, coffee, different types of tea, no fruit, no vegetables. The dinner consists of two main courses, vegetables, large selection of salad, different creams (changing, for example zaziki, schafskäsecreme, kartoffelcreme (very empty, with a lot of garlic), tarama ), fruit ( mostly water- or melons and grapes), good greek cuisine prepared by the mother respectively the grandma the two young and very friendly women, who the hotel lead. Everything delicious. All drinks for dinner the guest, however very convenient price: for example a large bottle flat water: about 1.00 Euro, 0.5 liter of wine: circa 4,20 Euro. It B gives freshly squeezed oranges- and multivitamin juice ( around 2 to 3 €).

    Very friendly young women, of which speaks perfect German, the other has satisfactory knowledge of German. Cleaning of the rooms is ok, every 2 days fresh towels. Sundays only garbage bin emptied.

    Beach is a bit tight, however reasonable and clean. Two loungers and a sun screen you can from 4,00 Euro per day rent. Showers are simply, but function almost always. The hotel-pool is relatively small, but for our small family ideal, will regularly cleaned.

    Distance to the beach approximately 300 meters. Good shops locally, who wants, can also partying. Bus station right on the doorstep. Hersonnisos and Malia the neighboring towns of Stalis and well with the public transport (public transport) to reach (simple travel about 1.50 Euro). To Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos one comes also very good with the public transport ( simple drive circa 3,70 Euro, both places are around 30 to 40 kilometer away, approximately 45 to 60 minutes travel time). Knossos to reach from terminus Heraklion ( port) very good about minutes ( simple travel about 1.50 Euro).

Very nice area simply for relaxing. Hotel recommendable, however with little faults, like for instance, that no tv in the rooms was available and the food not very varied. On the whole however itself for 2 weeks recommendable, as it is not always only the box have to turn. Should the food not promises, are countless restaurants within less minutes to reach.. It also the men, the restaurants lure. read more

A beautiful, informal and quiet hotel. The staff are very nice and immediately took care of any question you have. The rooms are although rather small, however therefor very nice, with attention to detail, designed. A high on the airco in the room, this you have to extra to book, but for 5 €the day you can reasonably the heat from the room and at least at night a little sleep-). Cleaned also every day and fresh towels there was every 2. Tag. To the beach and some shops and restaurants/ bars in Stalis are approximately 10 minutes away ... on foot. The beach is very beautiful and for a few Euros you can have it on the chairs comfortable make. Who has desire the island on your own to explore, can gladly directly in front of the hotel at the bus station wait, however does not exist really schedules and the buses come more as you wish. However leave the temperatures locally it, that you also a little can wait-). 2. alternative is, of course, the use the several car-, Scooter or quads. With a class B license you can all go, but be careful in Greece there is helmet obligation! And always respects on the fact, that it only leases with fully comprehensive insurance, without excess locked. Even if it first more expensive looks, but with reports of accidents has on the island no, because more than half the users only tourists. Otherwise the technical condition of some machines also not always the best-). But the offers and also a little is, on the kind of ideal the island explore:-). A shortcoming there are but unfortunately yet for the hotel. For breakfast, there is the same every morning, the same drinks, the same cheese, the same sausage and the same marmelade. But it tasted nevertheless everything was good and always fresh. For dinner there are unfortunately only three different' buffet', so every third day the same-). However also everything again delicious, one has every day the choice of two hot dishes and a very nice salad bar. So as in short, there is not much choice of food, but the is delicious:-). In the final outcome is the Hotel Marlena a great tip for people who a quiet vacation experience to want and relaxation want. It is however also a great base for explorations the island. I have a single room and it was a double room without cost increase offered. I gladly genonommen. I am a experienced Greece - and Kretaurlauber. I have never been to Kreta such a clean and maintained three star hotel inhabited, such as the Marlena. I wanted actually only the effects of the economic crisis explore, future Urlaubsentscheidungen better meeting to may. I have received from a crisis nothing noticed. The people, in particular in the hotel, were friendly and accommodating. The half board - food is plentiful, tasty and exceeded my expectations at the hotel. Small, informally run hotel. Value for money is good. Food, especially the breakfast, could have been a bit varied be, it is however everything freshly prepared, which one also tastes. Because of the good location an ideal hotel, not only for beach vacation, but also for excursions with the borrowing car. Beginning June were mostly German tourist, all ages, in the hotel. We had a great holiday on Kreta and the Hotel Marlena anytime again book. read more

The Marlena hotel is famous for its three stars a very good hotel with wonderful food ( evenings), friendly staff and very clean. Only drawback air conditioning for a fee and the rooms are badly soundproofed... You can tell that the hotel family run and the positive meaning, really recommendable whoever had no high expectations searches! read more

An informally run hotel, where the value for money more than true. The food was really delicious, fresh and the dishes always replenished. Rooms are by the size more than adequate and clean. The hotel two very nice Young women run, the very accommodating and friendly are. We were 2 weeks in the Hotel Marlena, we really enjoyed it! Our child (4 years) was the only thing child but had the pool for oneself and had always all at his side... Also the staff were super friendly and helpful... We had also a room mountainside, this shows, that in families with children cogitated. The choice of food, was very monotonous but if you a hotel bay with little stars, you have to be prepared... Nevertheless enjoyed... We would in any case next year again go... LG read more
