- Room
Rooms are in the comfortable green held, with Platikpflanzen, spacious and with comfy beds equipped. There are two places to sit with work corners/ Schminkmöglichkeiten. The only downside is that the AC was so loud, that a arriving by plane next to the bed afterwards at best as pleasant Nebengeräusch could be felt. All together but a price-value experience. The bathroom was reasonable, small American Tub and the American standard mountings work always a bit dated. A view of the Gulf of Mexico and the pool there is the mini- balcony, on the but at least two chairs space.
- Gastronomy
The breakfast itself is usually a continental breakfast and as this okay, not more. Coffee is good and was gladly refilled. The tomato juice from canned for breakfast good. The toaster needs however felt years, until the toast Brown is. Yoghurt there is also plentiful. Everything all in all okay, since also not very many guests for breakfast appear.
- Service
Service is with the check in/out reasonable, but not overly great. I wait still on a forgotten adapter, I left in the old room left, because once we move had. I reported the front desk a day after move, but the adapter remains missing. Rather the waitresses are very good, especially, if, as all weekdays, the Altherrenklub from Galveston to coffee and iced water meets. Very friendly the bell boys, the in front of the hotel without consideration for losses everyone regards, with Texas friendliness.
- Sport & Entertainment
At the time, when we were there, was the pool not managed-in other words the Inpoolbar was empty, which also we was, as there were hardly any guests on site. Sea and pool were fresh, but you could nevertheless at the sunny pool beach chairs and (O ja) a fully grown Got sunburns. By the pool are Flegelmöbel to chill and be comfortable. Loungers, sun screens etc. Were free of charge.
The beach on the Seawallboulevard over is very wide and beautiful, but there are few Sonnenanbetende... People. If creatures, then more birds and pigeons.
- Hotel
If you the view of the open sea loves, the is in the Hilton Galveston be comfortable. 1900 was the great flood and afterwards the large 2,5 meters high Betonwall between beach and coastal road to protect against the flood filled. Now is just the seawall Boulevard the Hilton from the sea. 2008 supernatant Hilton hurricane Ike. With the growing popularity of Galveston built the Hilton a large rise of cultivation once peaceful hotel and voila-finished is the nice beachand seminary hotel. The audience is usually American, unless there is a convention on, the San Luis Tagungszentrum is next door. Businessmeetings rotate often the local oil and chemical industry. The hotel offers Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, and to their loading waiting Tanker and to their discharge waiting Cargo Ships. We stayed in the' older' part of the hotel, but nevertheless very good, clean and modern decorated. Parking is free, as in the lobby and by the pool also.
- Location
The location southern Texas is, as I think culty. This is surely the lesser-known part of the Gulf of Mexico, but not unattractive. To Houston was about 80 to 100 miles. The beach is wide, the waves meerig and the wind endure. Galveston itself is rather a tranquil little town, from oil production and fishery determined. The pelicans you can everywhere on Galveston watch. I like it.
The Seawall Boulevard offers many good eating options and for night life. In addition there is in the neighborhood Kroger's and Wal Mart(s|).
