Good old days in great new ways!

The 'new york hotel' is a striking old building with the charm of yesteryear with its motto: 'good old days in great new ways' in the best sense' old fashioned '-pleased us very. The 43-story hotel has about 900 rooms-the actual hotel rooms are located on floors 20 to 40 of the building, in the lower two floors are the homes of residents. Access to the elevators one gets only with room card, there is always a staff of the concierge service there and watches. The hotel, at the end of the 20. years in the art deco style and ... has a very nice designed lobby with a reception and concierge desk. Next to the front desk you can at the 'bell boy' luggage against a small fee in custody-and for all, the the powershoppen about the strands beat, there was a bag scales.! In the lower lobby, below the foyer you will find a gift shop and gym. Still offers the hotel free wi-fi in all rooms! read more

Our room (2912) was a double room the cheapest category and was in the 29 sten floor with a view of the office building located opposite. This room was equipped with a very comfortable, king size bed, in which we could sleep well, a flat-screen tv, telephone, closet, and writing desk. In the room there was neither to safe nor mini bar, a refrigerator, you could get probably only on request and for a fee into the room -the but we didn't try it. The windows can be a little open (sliding), which we very pleasant found. Overall our room though extremely small - but thankfully not at all noisy, the massivbauweise the 20. years is's thanked. The air conditioning worked perfectly, could be individually adjusted and warmed the room fast and reliable-at the extremely chilly temperatures in january would be nothing worse than a cold room! In the bathroom a small sink with free soap, lotion, shampoo, a hair dryer and a old fashioned bathtub, the us but to 'warm up' after a long exploring at minus eleven degrees in january has done good service. Free (and fast!) Wi-fi is available in the rooms and in of the lobby.

The hotel offers on the ground floor an international restaurant (coopers tavern), as well as a typical american diner (tick tock diner) in a classic 50. years style with plenty of chrome and red lederbänken. There are around the hour typical american meals after the motto: 'eat heavy!'. We also made then and were with the served breakfast (bagel with cream cheese, oj and cheese omelet ) very satisfied: the coffee tasted good and is' bottomless', the waitress called love to wink' my dear ' and the price was okay (21 Dollar for the two of us). Also maintains this diner also a small stall in of the lobby of the 'new york', here there were tea, coffee and Cappuccino, delicious orange juice, muffins, bagels and fruit to go and at reasonable prices, we often used. Around the hotel there was many other restaurants, supermarkets and junkfoodläden : directly opposite is a 24 hours open mäckes next door and a small Starbucks, we frequently for the breakfast used. Just around the corner toward macys/herald square is a ' wendy's' börgerbude and a steak house, there opposite penn Plaza a larger Starbucks, in the other direction (from the hotel from right, in the cinema), there was a ' five guys' börgerschmiede (huge, juicy cheeseburger) and below the 8. ave is for the breakfast the 'pret a manager' café recommendable: here there is fresh juice and delicious sandwiches, toast, wraps, fruits and salads, not really cheap, but very good! Next door you will find a Burger King and estimated one thousand others were eating possibilities. More delicious tips are: the magnolia bakery (next to the entrance to the ' top of The Rock', as well as in the foodcourt the Grand Central Station) there was the world peanutbuttercookies, in the same foodcourt we ate also very good and authentic sharp thai curry. Also you will find directly across of the ' new york hotel ' a pizzeria called 'famiglia', in the big, greasy slices pepperoni pizza for 3 Dollar 50 get. A k-mart supermarket, as well as a small 7/11 market are right around the corner, here you can around the hour with snacks and drink.

General polite, helpful staff, the front desk and the concierge service are 24 hours manned. Check-in and-out were easy and fast. Wifi is on the whole hotel free of charge, in addition, the hotel guests in the lower lobby, an internet terminal with printer available.

The 'new yorker' offers free wi-fi everywhere, and a fitness room in the basement, it is a large cinema called ' loews' right in the side street, on the right from the hotel. To Times Square with its shows one runs on foot about 15 minutes.

The 'the new yorker' is located on the eighth avenue, 34. street west located in midtown, between penn station and the Times Square, directly opposite of the Madison Square Garden and within walking distance to Empire State Building. Also ' macy's ' is just around the corner. Right in the middle of everything! The next metro station 'Penn Station/34. street' is located just below of the hotel, from here one comes with the lines a, c, e, 1, 2 and 3 everywhere. Conclusion : best location, around the city to discover!

Madison Square Garden, Macy's and Empire State Building in the immediate area. We have on the 36. floor stayed. Great view of the city, especially at the Evening into the sea of lights. Hardly road noises to be heard. The room was for a hotel in New York spacious and newly renovated. Very friendly staff. With shuttle service to the airport went. Direct access from the new york hotel for tic tock diner. 24 hours open. Have ... Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very good food, freshly prepared and Fair price-performance ratio. The tic tock diner offers for breakfast in the hotel-lobby Coffee to go, as well as juice, fruits and muffins and other pastries at, which you also in Of the hotel-lobby can take to itself. + we had a room on the 26. floor with an amazing view to the hudsun river and direction bradway. The hotel lies great central location in the middle of Manhattan, right at the Penn Station. You can but also many attractions to reach on foot. The staff are very friendly. - the room was really small, but modern and newly renovated, except for the historical, something into the years the bathroom. As a general rule in USA also here the windows a leak, so you have to in the winter properly heat. The light in the room-hallway was broken ... and was also in the 5 days not replaced. read more

We have this hotel exclusively for sleeping and we must say was the value for money top, because we in the hauptmonat december between christmas and neuhjahr in New York were. The new yorker hotel lies super central and one can reach much ( Times Square, 5 avenue and so on.) To reach on foot. The subway stop is right around the corner, a Starbucks Kaffee, and a mcdonalds across the street and a Burger King a few meters way, so we had to leave for our breakfast never far. In the hotel there is also a diner the ... very well and for new york standards very reasonably priced was. The hotel isn't spectacular but since we really every evening/night dead tired to bed fallen through the many impressions which we over the whole day in this incredibly great city have gathered, was for us everything great and wonderful days spent there. It could be for us no other hotel profitable. read more

Great location - hotel ok - room a bit small

The hotel is near the Penn Station and the Madison Square Garden - the traffic connections could not be better. The staff at the frontdesk is able and friendly and did a very stressful job. As there is very lots of guests is, you have to actually always queue, because always someone from-or checking in. Next to the reception there is a now (concierge) where you tickets, shuttle services, etc. Can book and useful information gets. Our (double -) room was really small-we had problems the two suitcase so storing travel, that we cannot always stumble. Also the bathroom was ... small - there are hardly any storage space. In puncto cleanliness everything was ok. The great view from the 37. floor on the southern tip of manhattan compensated us. In next environment of the hotel you will find Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building and macy's. easy to reach on foot (15-20 minutes) the various Broadway theatre and the Times Square. To Rockefeller Center and to the shops in the 5. avenue is about 30 minutes. In the middle Penn Station is located the subway. You can also in one of the lots of small stores convenient breakfast. read more

For a few days city break the hotel is outstanding suitable. Value for money is okay here to 100%. The location is for that price unnerreicht. For this the hotel has nevertheless A high standard of quality. The rooms are simple but clean. If you only for sleeping needs, thus completely sufficiently. Unfortunately, there was a small Deductions for a sustained cold bathroom. The rest had been okay. Reception is friendly and helps reliable in case of any problems. read more

From the airport jfk to the hotel it is approximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. The price with the taxi is around 60 to 65 $ The hotel is located not far from Times Square and the empirestate building and directly opposite the Penn Station and the Madison Square Garden. Because the hotel because of its location shines, are shopping, as well as very many excursion possibilities nearby.

Introduction if you this hotel bay probably before well read and know, this wasn't a new building, t us in advance was clear. For all for a large bathroom are here wrong it is enough around itself to to shower and what you so taken care of... One after the other. As we had a corner room on the 31 floor with 2 beds had the room was for us 3 hansels large enough, after the tiring day we really the bed pleased great sleep in it (little short for my husband has it but afterwards didn't bother us), and the best was then in the morning and in the evening the view of the empire to enjoy. Air conditioning worked well, furniture made a good impression drawers available and a wardrobe. Too small but somehow it fit not everything from our suitcases ausgemöhlt. What you set must is the noise i mean not only the street noise (which i the first days missing) also the neighbor room could be annoying but we were so broken that we certain things not heard. So, possibly after a corner room issues. Everything else have stayed other user answered.

Check-in easy and quick had prior to an e-mail to the hotel and sent to a room in the upper (from the 30 decided) floor with a view of the Empire State Building asked us was replied to and gg a payment. Our rooms were after the return in a respectable state. At the day of departure someone has from the hotel our bill through the door crack pushed together have, we had also never. There everything okay was we needed only the key card is shown in the box in front of the elevators and that was then express check-out. Before the elevators is usually a security guard nice and friendly. We had no complaints.

The new yorker is a older however well-maintained hotel. The rooms are very well-kept and clean. On the first glance seems the a or other might the rates too high, because the hotel however in the middle of Manhattan is the value for money for new york standards completely ok. We had an apartment on the 26th floor. The safe is at the front desk and is free of charge. Coupons for free breakfast in the final tick tock diner were included. read more

The hotel is very central at the Penn Station - 5 minutes on foot -, that means all new York airports are by train from the Penn Station extremely cheap reachable. Almost all new York sights you can to reach on foot. The view from the upper floors (I was in the 35.) is sensational, had a view of the Hudson river. the Pearls of Rhodes is also in the immediate area, so that you the hotel also again and again easy find. Broadway, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and so on everything in the immediate area, streets around the ... hotel are at night as well very busy with lots of dining possibilities all around, you feel always safe. The hotel is a excellent choice, I would book it again in. read more

The rooms were really good furnished, rather small, no balcony, no coffee machine, no safety deposit box and no minikbar in the room. Air conditioning you could move on celsius, was good to use. The bathroom was quite small but for a city break enough. Everything was very clean. We had in the room wi-fi ( at the front desk we were told, that this only downstairs in the lobby could have been). A flat screen was available.

We got a room on the the floor with a view of the hudson river, wonderful. Cleaning of the rooms was always absolutely okay. Other services we didn't use.

Since we from jfk airport arrived and to the airport Newark had, we had the change from penn station in new York our hotel the first time seen. Already the first impression was impressive. We were looking forward as our new York stay at the access to our eastern coast-round trip. Everything is central to reach. Even the Times Square, hudson river or the high line park are within shortest time to reach on foot.

We had a corner room on the 33rd floor with a view of the Chrysler and empire State building. The corner room we had comparatively still a little luck, since this somewhat sizes are, as the' normal' room. Noise from the street of course on the 33rd floor still on, but it was tolerable. For those with poor sleep are worthwhile themselves definitely ear plugs. The rooms were mostly clean. The carpet nevertheless a bit unappetizing. The bathroom was also not very big, but sufficient. Who spends in new York also a lot of time in the room?

We stayed at the tick tock diner in the evening, which we definitely not recommend! The service is for american standards almost underground. The food I was afterwards quite in the stomach...
