Perfect relaxation for one day on Key West

On a trip to fort lauderdale to Key West we booked a night in Casa Marina on Key West. There this hotel the Waldorf-astoria-group were our expectations very high.
These were however also in most respects very satisfactory met.
The staff the check-in was exceedingly friendly. Due to my hhonors gold membership was without even asking me an upgrade to a room with seaview and balcony granted.
The room was not in the main part, but in the tower wing of the hotel. The rooms themselves was very good. If one consider, however, that there is no standard in a ... 5 star hotel was and this with a german 5 star hotel compare, you should its expectations somewhat put back: a the rooms are well equipped (for example nespresso coffee machine) and the bed for better comfort gold light fittings, the size, the thin walls and the rather unlovely room arrangement are not talking for highest standard. The great view and the balcony make back up for a lot.
The complex is simply great and inviting to stay a while and relax; you could spend hours at the pool/the bar, the view and the sound of the ocean to relax.
The hammocks on the beach invite to sunbathing. Pool boys carry a (against tip) everything afterwards.
So if you take a break from everyday life can do.
The lively duval street and the southernmost point are within walking reachable in a few minutes.
Free 'parking' are right next to the hotel's pay car park available. read more

Very nice hotel in a peaceful location from Key West. The reception by the staff was very friendly and we immediately felt comfortable. We had a room with a pool-/view of the sea booked, but were given a upgrade to a suite. The suite was comfortable large, with a also huge bathroom. Very good breakfast buffet, which we outside on the terrace enjoy could. The hotel complex makes a very good and maintained impression, and Karibik feelings arise. For the waiters left nothing to be desired. When we in the afternoon relaxed on the couch at the beach lay, came ... the pool butler and brought and ice and another day fruit. There is extremely well equipped and huge fitness center. A comparable fitness center we have in a hotel in the USA experienced not seen. The duval street can in circa 15 minutes away by foot be achieved. Besides stops Key West trolley tours directly in front of the hotel. Gladly we would have again guests in this hotel. read more

I something else under the supposedly best resort in the Keys presented!
Extremely expensive and unfortunately not justified! Here the guest is only for pay but not for relaxing!
The bathroom is tiny, as a couple standing is cramped! The bathrobes are dirty
The air conditioning worked not. The bar was not even the middle class, the Mojito was not enjoyable!
In the restaurant the napkins from material, but unfortunately totally dirty!
Here you will get ripped off and of the highest standard!
Solely the building is unique! read more

A Waldorf Astoria not worthy.
A constant sewage and the transportation situation lay over the hotel. Something was wrong with the sewer respectively Clarification not.
Have booked here in order to relax and the sea to geneiesen. On the first two Ankunftagen found a bikers meeting instead, all with drinks in the pools so almost no water more to see. From the shouting, noise and drunk and bekifften shape to be silent completely. That was the hotel certainly when we already know, especially the 40-year-old was, was naturally us opposite not mentioned. The sea is because of rocky and tree ... beach not at all to be used, the in the neighborhood the public beach was sand and turquoise water during the hotel beach always rough and one is astonished also the whole week from little guests in the sea swam. Simply a Totralausfall what sea concerned. Constant, loud Servitätigkeiten as Heckenscheiden round the impression from. Bathroom didn't deserve its name, you can't even swim gear drying ( room without a balcony), simply because no hooks there. Nachmittagsschläfchen that is unacceptable, the staff has never learned a door silent to close, you can just in the framework crash so the thin Walls right mitbeben.
Unfortunately therefore, we hoped the this hotel at the end of our 2W week trip around Florida the highlight is, the opposite was the case read more

The hotel works on the first glance not huge, but it is quite large and spacious. The complex with pools, restaurants and beach is generously designed. It is in good condition and very tidy. The meals are not included and quite expensive. But there are by the day at the beach / pool again and again free ice or otherwise small attentions.
The types of people are mixed. read more

Very nice and outside very well maintained hotel, unfortunately is the in the rooms something else to wish for!
In the bathroom a bottom moldy bath curtain, the fittings are partly rusty with really visible rust, we had also still the luck a room with a view and balcony onto the street to, the balcony in the entire week not cleaned but there was if desired every day fresh towels and various utensils for showers read more

The requirements for a hotel the Waldorf Astoria Group were very high and could not all be met:
The room was on arrival not yet ready ( about 1 hour waiting time, the no drinks was offered). Afterwards we were not on the bezugsbereite room notifies, only on request we could into the room go. The room was for Rollstuhlgänger and therefore with walk-in shower equipped. The bell service was rather unfriendly. The location of the hotel is not very good, in order to to the center from Key West to arrive (at least 20 minutes hike). The whole area ... is however nicely decorated.
The next time we would a hotel select, the closer to the center and not from the reputation of the hotel be tempted. read more

The hotel complex is relatively large and lies directly at the beach. Into the water one comes either over a footbridge or you climbs on one of the rocks. The beach section is way too small and crowded. One is its neighbor half on the couch. The pool is also very densely populated. The beach service was rude and incompetent. And was with small requests such as a sun screen overburdened.
We had a room with a sea view and got a room with baumblick. A complaint brought nothing and so we had to in the room stay. The bathroom ... is very small, you could hardly in it and rotate way too dark. The room had a balcony and was very run-down.
You could park either directly at the hotel ( valet parking) for 23 US Dollar per day or for 18 US Dollar on a somewhat distant parking from the hotel. We felt a parking space in a side street looked for and paid nothing.
In the surroundings there is nothing, to the center one runs around 30 minutes away on foot.
Whilst checking out we found out which we 28,13 US Dollar per night pay extra. This price includes a welcome amenity, internet, use of pool and beach, safe, towels and so on this was however at the check-in not said and after recently discussing we have at least for one night the price reimbursed. read more

We were 3 days in this hotel, absolutely wonderful, very good service, we had a massive room with both of our kids and a great big bathroom with bathrobes, a wide selection of towels, ironing board, the newest nespresso coffee machine with a selection of coffee pads, suitable dishes, malblöcke and colors for our kids. Simply great. At the beach very nice beach chairs and sufficient umbrellas, the waiters brought the cocktails of the chair, our kids saw pelicans in the wild when the fischejagen and only the sunset about this hotel was wonderful. Very we would love to come ... to this beautiful place back. read more

We were 3 days in this great hotel on Key West. We felt good overall. Are very warm at the front desk greeted, the check in ran problem-free and fast. Great parksystem. Rooms are nice, modern, as well as the bathroom. Food was not cheap, but delicious. Very friendly friendly and accommodating staff, a every wish from our eyes have (. You need a towel, would you like a damp cloth, should your sunglasses cleaning.). Beach wasn't so great, but which is it, one cannot everything else have.
Close proximity to duval street was perfect, is equipped with a ... short walk, easy to get to, as most southern point. Conclusion definitely again! read more

A hotel in absolute wonderful location in Key West. The hotel has a private sandy beach, access to the sea is however because rocks was only possible over a jetty. The service at the beach is great. It will be the loungers and sun screens developed, towels put down and at regular intervals will ' iced towels' distributed.
The lobby and entrance hall impressive, the rooms I would from the equipment, rather a three star hotel on Mallorca assign. The gorgeous area made this for us however more than just up. Should be emphasized still a very good and relatively ... large fitness center.
Key West with its restaurants and clubs is basically within walking distance, we have however angesichsts the high temperatures rather on the car resorted. In Key West itself there enough favorable parking options ( May 2012 ). read more

A dream! Wonderful, luxurious and well-kept complex. Great service, great rooms, brilliant location of the hotel ( not exactly in the middle however well thereby to different points to come). Sightseeing -bus has its own stop at the hotel even: super! Delicious breakfast buffet ( very recommendable, a inclusive breakfast package to book ).
A only negative point: the beach has outweighed by sand, unfortunately rock. You can only over the jetty into the sea and not directly from the beach from. read more

Top Hotel, Top Service, Great Location... The only drawback is the beach, wonderful to look at, but the quality is nothing. It stinks and was very unpleasant to celebrate. Key West is very close to achieving, in approximately 5-10 minutes on foot or by bike, which you can rent at the hotel read more

The queen size room, which we booked, for four people too small, the bathroom was miniature. As we expected from a hotel of the Waldorf-Astoria group more. We had booked over AAA, shortly before our vacation an email came with a special autumn offer, which included a few extras and was cheaper. I wrote to the hotel with the request, but my booking to adapt this offer. Lo and behold, we enjoyed the benefits. The hotel is located directly on the beach, but 'enter' the sea better on the pier. By the pool are a number of employees. The glasses ... were cleaned, then there is a cocktail. The question was also distributed cool towels and ice cream. Conclusion: a little noble, but for two nights you could sometimes luxury allows read more

The way to Key West is forever is however very nice. The road leads on many islands up to the end of the keys. We stayed for two nights at the Casa Marina. The hotel was okay, but a bit disappointed. Our room was on the ground floor with a view of the parking lot and anyway not really clean. I have spoken with believe that one of the cleaning staff and the ladies have no chance to clean the rooms properly. The walk (!) and carried through the hallways. No joke, they have these small suitcase, you may take ... it into the plane. The management seems to be an emphasis on cleanliness. The main problem is the tiled floor in the rooms. The tiles it was so funny filthy and this was also not better. Well, no matter. The nice thing about the area was the direct beach location. There are beach chairs and parasol by the way free. Key West is an interesting island with lots of crazy people. It seemed to me, as if the majority of people were, from the generation 68er left. The average age of the people, on the island is certainly at least 60! I would recommend this hotel only due to the beach location. read more

We had a beautiful suite with sea view. The check-in went very laborious and lengthy. Our luggage was very long in coming. Very beautiful area with two pools, but because of the difficult access to very loud sea basin. The beach is absolutely not the brochure: the beach just over the rocks into the water and tons of seaweed. Sea water quality by means of a nearby affected Kanalabflussrohr (foam and bad smell). read more

The hotel is really nice, but in my opinion too much. Someone brings you the towels to the pool chairs, beföhnt you with ice cooled towels and guests with which you can rub off. If you like it!
You should definitely rent bicycles in the hotel, in the heart of Key West you can wonderfully. The walk to Mallory square is by bike no problem. (the first 24 hours after 20 $12 $)
The hotel is a catamaran TOURE to the sunset. (118 $) with campus and prawns. Simply super. If you want to see the dry Tortugas best to ... book one from home. We had no chance. Fully booked. And don't forget beach shoes, the beach is Rocky. If you don't want to have breakfast in the hotel, about 3 kilometer the main road behind the Bayside water resort. Great breakfast at great prices. Married and much and it is impossible to sleep. read more
