My girlfriend and i have 3 nights spent in this hotel and were with our room content so far. It is functional decorated however reasonable and clean. The room service cleaned daily and the towels. The breakfast is fine too (intercontinental), if you are not all too large have expectations. Against a extra charge you have the possibility to a full english breakfast or so many be breakfast to the room to be brought to be able. At the reception we were (except for small exceptions) reasonably served in a friendly manner. In the breakfast room however left the staff's ... hospitality much to be desired. You have the possibility his suitcase before you room refer can and after you checked out in a small area to accommodate. Furthermore the hotel has a bar, which we however not tested (but it was always quite busy evenings).
For excursions the hotel has a great location. The station bayswater is only five minutes on foot away. About minutes you can reach Queensway. Besides you have a wide selection of restaurants in the immediate environment, as well as 2 drugstores, a small shopping mall and 2 supermarkets.
For a city break to London i would go there again. The value for money is fine and if one not to high have expectations i can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience. read more

We were at the beginning of august 2000 the 17. time in London and the 15. time in this beautiful hotel. The hotel is located favorably, shops and restaurants are in the immediate proximity. The breakfast is in buffet form in the Basement restaurant. The rooms are very tidy for londoner of conditions and are being gradually renovated and beautified (flat screen tv)
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially we want raminta from the reception regards, your all the best the forthcoming delivery and we hope, that by your baby break in it hotel returns. read more

We were there at the beginning of december. For 4 days in London!
The hotel is located in a great area (kensignton, bayswater ) in the immediate area to notting hill and the Kensington palace.
The hotel was from the outside and inside very appealing.
The check in- and check-out without problems, we could directly early morning on our room.
The breakfast was sufficient and was in a nice setting.
The hotelenirichtung itself is very old and worn, but nevertheless quite charming.
But as mentioned, in the december we were in London. On arrival there were -5 degrees. When we ... into the room arrived, we had to say, that it was freezing, because the heater didn't work. Besides we had no warm water. We did everything immediately at the front desk complained, but there was one rather about us fun (of course in russian).
We were always only said, wamrwasser would be a hauptptoblem in this hotel but so far had no complained, we should not employ. As a compromise, it was a small e -heating into the room provided, the but also only lukewarm was.
After we us by e-mail at the tour operator weighted, we had on the final day warm water and the heater also worked on the final day.
Our summary: the hotel itself i think great, the location, the gastronomy and the purchase-and excursions all around everything was just right. But the handling of complaints and the behavior of the staff i find unacceptable!
The hotel i recommend not further, because it's very annoying is, if you can a vacation pleased and then simply basic needs could not be met! read more

We had a twin room in the soutarrain. For the night in London we need but also no great view. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean. It was very quiet. The breakfast was varied of cold cuts/cheese-but everything tasted somehow the same. Full english breakfast you could additionally against an extra charge. Close proximity to Queensway and 2 u-bahn-stationen macht the location excellent. To recommend anytime again read more

The hotel has all our needs for a towns trip meets. The room is small but clean and has almost all announced properties met. Only the free wi-fi front desk was not enough to in our room. Therefore we had to leave for our coputer activities in the entrance hall avoid. read more

The BW Phoenix is for a city break really recommendable.
The condition of the hotel is generally good, if you noticed, that it was an old townhouse-creaky dielenbretter, lots of wood and so on. But totally charm.

The Phoenix hotel is great for a city break. It lies in a quiet side street, but in 3 minutes walk you will find a lively street with nice restaurants and pubs. In 5 minutes one was at the subway or at Kensington Gardens park. The hotel is definitely in great shape. My room was very small, clean, functional and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. The continental -breakfast was all right. read more

This hotel is only a couple -minute walk away from Kensington Gardens. Also the subway-stations baywater and Queensway are in walking distance and provide a great into the city. Restaurants, pubs and smaller shops are in the lateral roads to find.
The hotel is for a city break perfect. The double room had a pleasant size and was equipped with a closet, desk and tv equipped. Bathroom with a bath was somewhat small, however more than adequate. Towels were on request every day changed. Room -service has very good job.
We had booked accommodation with breakfast - buffet with: rolls ..., toast, ham, cheese, several juices, marmelade, fresh fruits, canned fruit, yoghurt, different kinds of kellogg's, coffee and/or tea on request.
Also the front desk was to our complete satisfaction. Stayed here our greeting can give. German speaking staff are in the meantime also present.
We would book this hotel again and we can only more than recommend it. *thumbs up* read more

We felt very good and can only recommend the hotel. Especially the location and the traffic connection are excellent. The many other reviews specified point of criticism regarding breakfast I can't confirm. We booked late breakfast, nevertheless everything was in sufficient quantity available and space we also always immediately found. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but clean. We have a room on the top floor booked, therefore it was relatively quiet. Shops, restaurants, 2 subway-stops... Everything in the immediate area. With our next London-stay I will book this hotel again. read more

This hotel lies in the immediate area of Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace. The underground stations baywater and Quensway are easy to reach. Nearby the Portobello road and very lots of shops, restaurants and department store

For a short break recommendable. If you anyway only for sleeping in the hotel spend, is in the right place here. Breakfast is unfortunately the choice was very poor and the quality of the dishes left to be desired. English breakfast against an extra charge. Our tischnachbar was not love it. On tv no German television. Key must at leaving at the front desk delivered. Nachtsa is the access by ringing only possible, but that didn't bother us and more something safety offers. Right next door is a but rather poor stocked shopping mall. Tesco express is right around the ... corner ( until 24 o'clock Groceries). Public transport only 3 minutes away, bus even only 30 seconds.
On arrival we were for one day in the neighboring hotel -it was fully booked. Should not happen. But the neighboring hotel heard to the same atmosphere, is located in the same complex and the rooms are even somewhat comfortable. On arrival were still other guests because overbooking transferred. read more

The hotel lies in a side street. It is rather peacefully located. From the subway ( Baywater ) to the hotel it are approximately 150 meters. Left and right from the street several shops (souvenirs, food, clothes, shoes) a shopping center lies on the way. The room is tiny. If one or two suitcase has, must one on the closet or he is always in the way. We were only a few in the hotel, that's why it was for the 4 days endure. A hair dryer is available in addition a kettle for coffee and tea. I have here ... the other reviews looked at and over the breakfast not confirm. We have every day immediately a seat and there were several free seats. Was maybe due to the, that the hotel was not booked up. The choice was rich and delicious. read more

A centrally located hotel. Lots of old furniture but very clean. Friendly front desk and servers.
The rooms are very small and also the bathroom is very small, but that is one of London already used-)
For a short city break however more than adequate.
There is easy access to the market, because the hotel nearby the Bayswater metro station is.
Restaurants ( Steakhouse, Italian restaurant, Mc Donalds, pizza Hut, Subway. ) in the immediate vicinity.
The hotel is a great place for people who short stay have, the old furniture give the hotel its flair.

I think, in comparison to the, what an otherwise in the Kenyan in London expected, is the 'Best Western Phoenix' in the 3 stars area really 'good', but really only in comparison in London, or with Paris, Rom. If you have a high standard from Austria or Germany spoiled, will be here very much disappointed be.
From the tour operator Neckermann the PV Phoenix because of by guest reviews a 'Primo 2011' received, that hot it will 100 most popular versus worldwide in the category 'city' belong. How you feel, I find it hard to comprehend.
Some positive in general ... area
- the Phoenix is relatively near to the center located-two subway-stations nearby ( Baywater about 3 minutes) ( Queensway about 5 minutes) - very good subway-access to airport LHR-several Nachtbushaltestellen nearby
- except for a few exceptions ( for example in the breakfast room) very friendly and helpful staff
- very much staff ( almost Spanish standards )
- my room was, some time prior to the normal time possible, thus really at the earliest opportunity
- free Wi-Fi-use in the whole hotel possible and free computer and Druckernutzung in open area on the ground floor
- very large open area on the ground floor, divided in several rooms - bar area, two fireplace-areas and other lounge
- on the first glance very clean and tidy
Some negative in general area
- very bad value for money compared to the standard in Austria and Germany
- definitely not suitable for disabled people
- foreign languages skills at the front desk in addition to French, Italian and Spanish Japanese experience, but German almost not available
The received single room:
- the Zimmerzuschnitt with the small stairs (photo) is quite unusual and stems certainly from a later Gebäudeerweiterung in the hotel. The response at the guests is certainly very different from enthusiasm 'cleverly and interesting' to reject 'converted cupboard'
- room amenities belong a telephone; water heater for coffee-/ tea with tea and several coffee- and Schokosorten; flat -tv, but only with BBC1 and BBC2
- the window should be desperately cleaned, next to the dirt months is color of the last Fensterstreichen -many, many years still in the middle of the two pieces of glass to find
- no in-room safe
- the bathroom is very small, much too small -handing you should better the door open
- the mixing batteries functioning, with fast and 'hot' warm water, but generally, there are probably large Verkalkungsprobleme (heavy )
- a hair dryer is in the living room, next to the kettle for coffee and tea available
- extensive bath and Hygieneausstattung
For breakfast:
- the breakfast room is very narrow chairs, so that some personnel forces did problem with the service, much too narrow passages and nevertheless you have to waiting times count, since good react the space was not ausrecht
- the Büfettauswahl was very well arranged, at least in sausage and cheese -always ham, sometimes a sort salami, a sort of Schnittläse, mini Bon BEL, Philadelphia, on Sunday boiled eggs, nature- and fruit yoghurt, canned peaches, Prunes, a ' Körnerauswahl ', much sweets, three sorts of rolls, selection of fresh fruit, three varieties of juice
- when Extrazahlung or charge is also full English breakfast or fried eggs or omelet possible
- Choose between coffee and tea (English )
Summary:
If it but London should be, then is because of probably missing good alternative the 3-star segment the BW Phoenix with drawbacks recommendable. read more

We can recommend the hotel. The location is great, one is really quick at the next subway station and in a few minutes in Kesington garden. The staff are friendly, our room was big enough and clean. The only thing, what has disturbed us, was the narrow of the breakfast room and sometimes in the morning had to wait, bisein table became free. read more
