strategic location just 5 min walks from Bayswater tube station (distric and central line). Bayswater is in between the Paddington station and Notting hills gate. Nice hotel surrondings very quiet. Buffet breakfast but without home made meals as the hotel doesn't have a restaurant. The price for a single room is not really cheap (arount 130 euro breakfast included) read hotel review

The hotel Phoenix in London is a really good location, clean, excellent location, friendly staff. For the price you can argue, London is expensive but i thought it was absolutely okay, but, that we enjoyed a nice clean place to stay had. All in all we can the hotel with a few drawbacks (loud ventilation, mediocre breakfast) a nice round good. Room °°°°°°°° Using unusually slow elevators we arrived at the 4. stick at, intersected a narrow hallway with carpet and pink walls where historic pictures hanging. Our room was at the end of the hallway. The room itself was not particularly large, there were two twin beds, a table, wardrobe, mirror and a small but nice bathroom. The floor was with a farbentechnisch rather ridiculous carpeted. Otherwise there was wood, thus optically typical middle class equipment. As we in the 4. floor were we had a great view over the roofs to far over London and therefore also a bit more peace. In the room there was also a small flat screen tv, unfortunately only english channels, but many great radio stations and since we anyway all day long on the way were and evening tot to jump on the bed fell played the small channels no large role. The bed °°°°°°°°°° The sleeping area was a typical hotel bed with a really thick mattress, two pillows and a light duvet and sheets. I was surprised, that the mattress not worn and the pillows the head just gave. Well i slept! The bathroom °°°°°°°°°° The small bathroom was completely new, everything renovated, clean, no kalk, nothing, everything perfect! The complimentary side dishes were soap, shower gel, shampoo and a small wash cloths! Only the placement of the toilet paper holder was suboptimal, it took a few hoops to get there came, so we take the role on the bathtub were. Disturbing was only the quite loud jet-skies are fun ventilation, the unfortunately still some minutes after deletion of light weitersurrte, especially at night to the toilet quite unpleasant. As swiss for me was the service the fixtures first a bit difficult, because i recognize not immediately as just now hot water could be adjusted. In the drawer of the pultes was also a hair dryer, but this could have been saved, too small and too hot, after a few minutes had then he suspicious strange, so i my hairstyling to the minimum reduced. Cleanliness °°°°°°°°°°°° The bathroom was new, looked it also still tip-top, everything shone, no lime. Only a few dark hairs were on the first day on the tile floor to find, but everything was really clean was, ordered this hair rather the head of the cleaning lady. On the next day there were no more. The bedding was absolutely clean, only a bit there was dust was on the upper part of the bettrahmens to find. Otherwise, everything was clean and dust, the kettle despite its age absolutely lime-free.

As i before takeoff inculcated is no big hopes for the breakfast buffets to make, i was as surprised. Would a 'continental' breakfast, the selection in the midfield; different cereals and assorted cereals, milk, yoghurt, pickled dörrfrüchte etc. , fresh fruits, ham and salami, different types of cheese, different rolls (also whole wheat), very delicious croissants and 2 types toast the one on the spot by the röstungsstraße could send. There were also eggs but tasted disgusting, probably industrial mass production, at least it was to me to be a bite already. And jams of course, the typical bitterorange i try had it remained then also ☺ To drink there was with quite thin juices, coffee, hot chocolate and of course tea! Overall, the breakfast was absolutely edible and hungerstillend. By the way we found contrary to entries in hotelbewertungsforen always a spot for us, the breakfast room was large and had all the space, there was rarely a traffic on the buffet itself, only the toast- fliessband had to wait.

We flew with Swiss and came around 7.05 at the airport London City at. As this is quite small was the departure a breeze, the train was only a few minutes away. We took the dlr and then the circle line (underground) to bayswater. This station was within walking distance, just 5 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is in a side street to the Queensway to find, 5 minutes from the subway station bayswater, from which one via the circle line (yellow line) practically everywhere could! The Kensington Gardens square is a quiet little side street with little traffic so the rooms also was quiet, even, if the window was open, we were not particularly bothered. Especially is here, you Hyde Park within 10 minutes walking distance! The Queensway itself is extremely busy, with many different restaurants and souvenir shops, but also different. You could really good meals. Right at the end of the street was a chemist/pharmacy where you can until midnight everything to buy could!

Bright, very clean rooms, not to compare with the usual london hotels. Room size for two persons completely sufficient. Very clean, nice bathroom with marble walls, bath, ample towels (daily fresh, whether you wanted or not!), toiletries and so on. Also the bathroom (in london hotel also very rarely, after 7 stays one is a little old) was absolutely clean, every day! Very good breakfast, also very unusual for a middle class hotel, with plenty of toast, roll croissants, eggs, ham cheese, cream cheese, fruit, yogurt, granola and other cereals, butter jams, soft chocolate cream, and so on. And so ... on. Very friendly staff, plenty of coffee or tea, fresh milk and juices. Complete success! All age groups in the guests represented, but clearly more to middle ages it belonged, no-delighted groups, rather couples and friendly small groups. On the thick carpet equipped hallways hardly a guest to hear, very pleasant. No hotel for young people, they would be clearly in the wrong place, but there are other hotels. Many different nationalities, many english, a few germans and americans. Sufficient internetverb., wi-fi. Very nice lobby, good service (for example, free plug adapters) and the front desk always occupied with partly 2 people, no waiting The only downside: if you get a room to the park, it can happen, that it until 1 o'clock light noise there (with the windows closed but bearable). Completely seen, a hotel, second to none in this price range are looking for, from our point of view: absolutely perfect for a week London! read hotel review

Bayswater: super!

It was our first time in London. The location d. hotels in bayswater found we super, because the neighborhood is very nice and the service is very good (5 minutes to the underground and the bus station). Just round the corner are several possibilities, in the evening still something to eat or to drink (various larger and smaller restaurants, pubs). The Hyde Park is also on the doorstep. I was disappointed volt hotel, because it is very small and in the back with view to the backyard, just ugly was. Down in the yard was the kitchen, whose units ran ... the whole night and of course from 6 o'clock in the morning with full volume were working on it. The room had no air conditioning. The bathroom was good, because renovated. Breakfast was mass processing, but the staff was despite the stress nice and endeavored. Conclusion: the hotel would definitely stay there again, if i could find a room would get, not on the backyard beyond! read hotel review

Our trip to London, which for months we planned was started with a large problem. The hotel. Starting with the check-in: after we had a pleasant journey had, looked we are of course looking forward to our hotel, which is located on the internet noisy refferenzen well presented. The lady at the reception seemed very annoyed and pressed us without many words the room key into your hand. Then it was with the extremely wobbly old creaky elevator from to the 2. floor. Wait up to 10 minutes to get to the elevator! He is very slow! Arrived in the ... room, we were right there were dents in the walls, dirty floors, dirty windows/curtains and floors on. In the bathroom there was the sink not clean and also during our time of stay was not cleaned, but we have to say it was newly furnished (bathroom). The other was the shower stall in the corners dirty and rusty. Keep the windows not a little noise which in some nights from sleeping only dream could. For breakfast: again it is with the lift slow into the basement. After the elevator opens view on a listless women which disinterested views and wait the you the next guest assign a table can/dishes plate. The room is for so many guests too small/loud and the breakfast continental standard but rather the lower sort of dishes was dirty, coffee a matter of taste. For the hotel we speak no recommendation from, even if the stay only for sleeping, breakfast and the showers were, however, we would never go there again. ( hotel) The positive: Location of the hotel: top, right on the bayswater 2 minutes on foot. / shopping center and many small shops and restaurants read hotel review

Central hotel near the subway station bayswater! Lots of shops, restaurants and souvenir shops nearby. Our room was alright, we had a 3 bed room (non-smoking) in the 'basement', spacious and equipped with a tv. A coffee maker was there too, the we didn't use. Unfortunately, there was no safe in the room available, but there were enough clothes hangers ☺ The heater functioned perfectly, as we had with hot water no problems. Because the hotel was already a bit older, you can hear many a time the neighbours, but we didn't bother us as we the hotel only for ... sleeping use. The breakfast was ok, there was toast, bread rolls, 1 or 2 types of sausage, juices, jam, honey, hard boiled eggs, cheese, yogurt and cereal. We got immediately a table. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely book the hotel again! read hotel review

An outdated hotel, furniture, floors, walls a bit dated (floor knarrt everywhere) Bathroom renovated, breakfast room, renovated. Staff is friendly and helpful, great location close to underground, shops, restaurants, peaceful location, very clean everything. All in all price-performance ratio was very good. read hotel review

My girlfriend and i have 3 nights spent in this hotel and were with our room content so far. It is functional decorated however reasonable and clean. The room service cleaned daily and the towels. The breakfast is fine too (intercontinental), if you are not all too large have expectations. Against a extra charge you have the possibility to a full english breakfast or so many be breakfast to the room to be brought to be able. At the reception we were (except for small exceptions) reasonably served in a friendly manner. In the breakfast room however left the staff's ... hospitality much to be desired. You have the possibility his suitcase before you room refer can and after you checked out in a small area to accommodate. Furthermore the hotel has a bar, which we however not tested (but it was always quite busy evenings). For excursions the hotel has a great location. The station bayswater is only five minutes on foot away. About minutes you can reach Queensway. Besides you have a wide selection of restaurants in the immediate environment, as well as 2 drugstores, a small shopping mall and 2 supermarkets. For a city break to London i would go there again. The value for money is fine and if one not to high have expectations i can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience. read hotel review

We were at the beginning of august 2000 the 17. time in London and the 15. time in this beautiful hotel. The hotel is located favorably, shops and restaurants are in the immediate proximity. The breakfast is in buffet form in the Basement restaurant. The rooms are very tidy for londoner of conditions and are being gradually renovated and beautified (flat screen tv) The staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially we want raminta from the reception regards, your all the best the forthcoming delivery and we hope, that by your baby break in it hotel returns. read hotel review

We were there at the beginning of december. For 4 days in London! The hotel is located in a great area (kensignton, bayswater ) in the immediate area to notting hill and the Kensington palace. The hotel was from the outside and inside very appealing. The check in- and check-out without problems, we could directly early morning on our room. The breakfast was sufficient and was in a nice setting. The hotelenirichtung itself is very old and worn, but nevertheless quite charming. But as mentioned, in the december we were in London. On arrival there were -5 degrees. When we ... into the room arrived, we had to say, that it was freezing, because the heater didn't work. Besides we had no warm water. We did everything immediately at the front desk complained, but there was one rather about us fun (of course in russian). We were always only said, wamrwasser would be a hauptptoblem in this hotel but so far had no complained, we should not employ. As a compromise, it was a small e -heating into the room provided, the but also only lukewarm was. After we us by e-mail at the tour operator weighted, we had on the final day warm water and the heater also worked on the final day. Our summary: the hotel itself i think great, the location, the gastronomy and the purchase-and excursions all around everything was just right. But the handling of complaints and the behavior of the staff i find unacceptable! The hotel i recommend not further, because it's very annoying is, if you can a vacation pleased and then simply basic needs could not be met! read hotel review
