In december 2012 for christmas and new year's 2 very relaxing weeks in a super well-kept hotel (here al husn) spent. Very friendly service, okay food if one in time 3 days before in one of the approximately 10 restaurants reserved or with the offered buffets out. Very nice area including beach. Drawback: it may for young people more outdoor activities are offered, and a meeting place for young people with popular music in the evening is missing. Despite complex new year's eve arrangement with eingeflogener musikband (lump sum of 250 euros per person), as well as the elaborate stage ... and a big fireworks, had all the guests already at 1 o'clock in a drögen and uncharmanten ballroom avoid, despite commitment of management to approximately 600 guests, that outside until 3 o'clock celebrated was allowed. The hotel manager was this with a regierungsauflage, that spätrer hour drassen not more be celebrated must! As at the same time mitlglieder of the royal family of golfstaates in the hotel there, we assume, that the present sheika in their bells felt and the outside party has prohibited.
Otherwise it was however a very nice christmas holiday! read more

Since birth of the hotel we are long-term guests the al bandar in the november and extremely comfortable. After a new director the building since 2012 forwards, leaves the service a little after. As we always at check out for the next year book, we learned a price surcharge of believe it or not about 20%. We were one of the longest long-term guests of the hotel and give because of the new standards our golden circle hotel and have already another great hotel for november booked. Unfortunately, so you long-term guests with such measures vergrault. This is short-sighted and ... in my opinion stupid!
Already at check in we had our suitcase until to the front desk alone wear. And then if you wanted to give a guarantee on the loan account have. We rejected, since we for years our hotel bill punctual and realiable paid. We would then almost left. This is an incredible lack of especially opposite long-standing regular guests. Unfortunately, that a 5 star hotel changed.

In front away: we had a great holiday, would but also with children the Al Bandar recommend!
Our room ( superior sea view) was rather dirty: the carpet was very dirty, the bathroom unacceptable. The shower's walls black moldy and in the remaining brown dirty (I could with the toothbrushes really easy clean Strokes through the Schmierschmutz drag). The drain of the washbasin and the shower head we cleaned, because the very disgusted had. The roomboy we had unsuccessfully asked the bathroom to clean. However we are certain, that in a complaint everything was perfectly cleaned would be, just with ... the otherwise gladly used chemistry. The we wanted to save. Apart from that everything was dusty and was only superficially cleaned. But several times a day towels and bedding.
The service in the remaining oriental top!
Al Waha Witwern in any case recommend. Pool and restaurant remember rather all inclusive on Mallorca in the adolescence. Peace one has rather the Al Bandar, although also children rumsausen. But not hundreds
Biggest fault: durchgangsreisen and the complex is for public zugânglich. So it amongst others, at the Friday ( friday is free) a herd of students on pool and breakfast buffet besieged is, with noise and romping. Wet Swimwear and klitschnasse body at the buffet. Merci!
And no more couches free for the hotel guests, as well as crowd everywhere. For a 5 star hotel not in the right ballpark.
Apart from that would we recommend the hotel in stages to book. At the start and on end of the trip. And in between car rent and a round trip make! Is worthwhile.
Al Bandar book and the desired dream vacation. read more

We stayed for 10 days with our 6 months old daughter shangri La. It was in perfect: a quiet Bay, beautiful Sand, enough chairs. Baby-sitter could at short notice booked, and mostly Asian staff was very child-friendly. However kids then romped not everywhere children around, very pleasant.
the German the chef Mr schwärzler took my extreme celiac disease and always cooked separately without gluten for me, a fantastic service. My husband enjoyed the very good buffet, but also the other restaurants (fish, Italian) were very good.
only point of criticism: the bay is mountains locked, which is nicely appears, but ... no longer Walks allowed. read more

The Shangri la Hotel consists of three different categories. All in all, it is a very big complex, which covers a whole Bay. The hotel is very well located-right on the high mountains, so that a great impression arises, as you are on the sea and at the same time is right next to a mountain. In order to get to the hotel you had to drive through a tunnel even only. This, however, it is also very quiet. The breakfast was fine and otherwise the piano bar at the neighboring hotel, with live music in the evening to recommend. ... Very modern and stylish and equipped the cocktails were great. read more

The hotel is one of the most beautiful! You are pampered, the staff is one-time. There was no single reason for complaint or complaint. The prices are a little higher, but you have to keep in mind, there is a five stars hotel. You can recommend this resort 1oo %! read more

Great country, very friendly people, excellent hotel with excellent service, very good food, good gym. Very recommendable.
We were in the AL Waha, the grounds and restaurants for Al Bandar, however, can be used as well. All in all a very nice resort in a desirable location.
Outside of the hotel is in the immediate vicinity only a diving centre with accommodation, restaurant, otherwise you will have to drive for food and entertainment in the city Muscat. read more

For us it was a Fantastically beautiful vacation. The people in Oman are very welcoming. The country is very nice and is not free-the pearl of Oman. There was the relationship with tourism, nature and history. The hotel has left nothing to be desired and we were spoiled. In September the hotel was not full. For those who wanted relaxation and peace is the ideal place. The guests in the hotel were also very pleasant, because there is an international clientele. The food was a dream. Throughout the resort there are several restaurants and you can eat à la carte ... or either at the buffet. The beach is nice, but not a dream beach. Therefor the large pool area is lovely and you can always find your desired spot. Whoever variation, with the hotel bus to Muscat to shop in the Souk and shopping mals or for sightseeing. We looked at the wonderful country with the travel agency 'desert adventures'. And you'll find right history and a unique nature. For us it was a wonderful, relaxing-but also more interesting vacation. read more

Great hotel in a nice quiet location. Sufficient beach chairs and sunshades available. For small children swimming rings are available. Large and varied buffet with different theme (Asian, seafood, and so on). With luck we could watch the turtles. Free bottled water in the room and by the pool/beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. read more

In this hotel everything is just right, and it is very recommendable, if one the vacation of relax comfort.
If you also want to see and experience much, so you need to know: Muscat was sections of very large, and the hotel is so far away from the sights, you only with the shuttle bus to the mutrah-Souk (in the morning around 10:00 o'clock and afternoons at 16:30 H, back 19:00 hours) or a taxi in about half an hour and more. Of course, you can rent a car, but the town is despite the good roads ... for a foreign not so easy, because there is no reasonable city maps are. read more

The hotel is wonderful but Al Waha J. W. D; you have to own rental car desk in about 15 minutes walk away from the city Muscat get. Positive: nice people, good facilities, good food, absolute cleanliness. Negative: incompetent front desk, not even managed it, despite three-time call on the morning paper on the room bring to let.
The beach is okay, but not spectacular. Great service: when the really good on the beach there were a cooler with ice cold water for the whole day. Overall was the high price of the large but not luxurious and equipped Executive ... room with view of the sea just to be tight excessive. The bathroom was very nice, but smelled sometimes the plumbing was massive.
The buffet restaurants, including breakfast, are the food was okay to good, but the atmosphere a bit of Robinson/aldiana, you actually don't expect in this price range. Very good: the seafood restaurant in the area and the restaurants in the nearby Al bustan Hotel. read more
