Magnanimous service provided!

It is for the first time I am writing a review for a Hotel/Motel and probably it is the best way I could possibly pay back my respects for the gracious service provided by the staff at Holiday Inn Margaretenstrasse 53.
I had the privilege to stay with them for 2 days from 3-5 March, 2013. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, just at a 10 minutes walk to city center & St. Stephen's Cathedral. The staff there was very professional and quite helpful to tourists like us, who were visiting Vienna for the first time. The rooms were ... very cozy and comfortable, there is hardly anything we could grumble about.
By mistake, I forgot some of my stuff in the room when we checked out and the staff there was gracious enough to offer to send it back to me in Denmark. It was truly magnanimous of them to have helped us in this way.
I would definitely stay there again when I visit Vienna next time.

Well-maintained hotel at good location. Entrance to the hotel is unacceptable, as one-way street, but the underground car park of the hotel is an absolute disgrace and is never the price of 17 euros /day. You have to a very good drivers to be around a) at all in the garage and the car since on a ramp 'charging' b) to again to get out. Garage entrance a lot, way too narrow, this steep and winding. It has hardly any space to turn let alone enough space other maneuvers to make. Is the price definitely not value and an isolence ... of the hotel so much to ask. read more

We were just one night in the hotel, therefore, not all be evaluated. Sporting activities or sonstiege hotel facilities we could not to test. Altogether we were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. The frontdesk employees, as well as for breakfast were very nice and very good for the interests of the guest cared. The room was brilliant furnished and had everything what you need. We felt very good there and very good slept. The breakfast was very tasty. There was indeed not the largest selection, however therefor everything was very fresh and delicious. The location is also ... super. A few meters to the outdoor market nastchmarkt and subway-stations. In the area are many nice bars and restaurants. We would definitely book the hotel again, then, if necessary, for a private stay in Wien. read more

The hotel is very beautiful and modernly equipped. It was in any case everything very clean. Also the breakfast is recommendable. The staff are in any case helpful and very efficient.
General note: if you want to outside of the hotel eat out, so it is recommended, in advance of good restaurants and not one of the overpriced inns in the city centre to go. read more

This hotel you can cALMY recommend it! The Naschmarkt with the metro-station is about 5 minutes walk, from there you had very good connections the city or to the numerous sights. The hotel itself looks from the outside already older, but the inside is great. The rooms are very modern designed. Mini bar, safe, flat screen TV, as well as kettle for tea or coffee available. The bathroom was for our three days big enough and always properly cleaned. There are even different pillows on request offered (great for people with allergies!). Breakfast was very varied ( sausage, cheese, jams ..., pastry/ apple strudel, as well as different juices. Very nice was also the breakfast on the terrace/ inner courtyard.
Our tip to Wien: in any case Schloss Schönbrunn visit ( however quite early in the morning plan on rush of visitors ), if the weather is nice to Gloriette climbing, the view of the city Wien was super.
We enjoyed very good beer garden ' Schweizerhaus' IM Prater like, price are okay and under the chestnut trees you will learn quickly real Viennese know, the one or another inside tip for its city tour ready!
Note concerning the price the naschmarkt, as at many stalls in a other Measurement is expected (not kg/grams!, but dAG = 10 grams), this could quickly very expensive are!
I wish you have fun in Wien. read more

Hotel lies just a few strides from naschmarkt food market. From there are all sights very easy to reach. Restaurants and bars are just a few strides away from the hotel. Tip: 5. Brau (small menu, wide selection of cocktails) - address: Margaretenplatz 9. Definitely a Vienncard book and also the hop on-hop off bus, here you see all important sights in a short period of time. A must: the Prater. Highlight: dinner in the Donauturm ( price are OK!) - definitely before reserve! read more

We were for Easter 5 days in the hotel and we felt very comfortable.
The superior room was sufficient for 4 people and for 2 people surely ideal (2 TV, super comfortable bed etc. ) we had a room on the 5 floor and, although to the street it was in night as well not too loud.
All sights in the city center are comfortably within walking distance, to the naschmarkt open-air market and the subway it Max 5 minutes footpath - also you will find in the immediate area restaurants and shops.
Very positively mentioned should be is the ... breakfast - very large selection of fresh fruit, good coffee.
Price per person for this is 15 euros, but children are free and then it adds up for a family already.
A bit disappointed we were from the sauna, the actually only one Turkish and not really hot. During our travel time we had the in the evening more used - in the summer certainly not required.
We would the hotel choose again. read more
