We have to 10 days the hotel changed, we are less than 30-years-old and felt vort place like 70 before.
Only a bus connection the not always and from 11:30 p. m. not any more. From the capital Funchal to get back to your room from 23 o'clock very bad, only taxi and the costs for tourists circa 40 Euro. I can persons from 18 to 49 years this place and hotel not recommend. read more

The Hotel Santa Catarina, is a simple decent place to stay in the immediate area of airport and highway.
Which initially as disadvantage sounds was for us a big plus. You can rental car at the airport deliver, to the hotel and in the morning before opening the car rental desk in all peace to the check in go. This the addiction airport transfers (on Madeira with early flights a costly venture). Furthermore the hotel is nevertheless peacefully located.
The most positive surprise but the place itself to offer. It is really nice, very authentic and even with excellent possibilities ... to go swimming equipped!

The Hotel Santa Catarina is a good hotel. The really reasonable value for money. One may for the price no 5-star -luxury wait-so if you on a middle class -hotel will be shut down, will not disappointed. read more

Old town Santa Cruz you can very good food for 6 Euro

We have the hotel chosen because of its central location and super -bus connection after Funchal and machico. Since we especially hiking wanted, it was somewhat poor facilities in the hotel no matter. For a hotel- and beach vacation with children the hotel is definitely not recommendable - quaint is what other - as a starting point for tours, whether with car ( own parking garage) or bus in any case. The pool is nice and clean, the location under a bridge not inviting. The proximity to the airport and the freeway we didn't bother us, it was on the ... contrary interesting, from time to time - only during the day-a plane land to see. The launch was apparently mostly in the direction Machico, then it's certainly louder. On foot one is in one minute in the town center, Santa Cruz itself is a small cute village with a pretty promenade but no bathing beach, but with 3-4 nice restaurants, a small market hall and a few small shops. For strolling was rather Funchal recommendable, by car in 20 minutes, by bus in 40 minutes to reach. The breakfast in the hotel is really reasonable, the breakfast room and restaurant very nice. Internet is always free available. We stayed at the internet booked to a great deal and we were skeptical at first, then pleasantly surprised. read more

The hotel is simple standard.
The walls have partially bubble because of the humidity.
Rooms smell somewhat musty, perhaps, because the predecessor smoke, even though it was forbidden. read more

The hotel is largely reasonable, but outdated.
It is certainly in need of renovation!
Rooms are simply furnished, but clean
Breakfast, well if one slept longer, is a lot at the buffet no longer available.
On a few days there were orange juice from the pot, tastes great.
At other days there were orange juice from the automat, tastes horrible,
As well as the coffee from the vending machines.

A straightforward hotel with good excursion possibilities, since the bus stop right nearby is.
The place Santa Cruz is quiet and pleasant, with very nice beach promenade.
The capital Funchal is in 20 minutes. Very nice old town with an awesome atmosphere.
Excursions to west and east -Madeira are very recommendable, many scenic highlights.
There are good fish restaurants but apart from that are the prices rather like in Germany.
Temperatures in january around 18 degrees and little rain. For hiking very suitable. read more

The hotel is located in a small village close to the airport and a highway bridge. Funchal can be reached in 20 minutes using the express the hotel is small with very nice and helpful staff. For young people to recommend you to relax, as party moderate is nothing to do. read more

The hotel is in a good central location to bushalte, airport, beach, business park area, harbor and idyllic old town. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms at the back of the hotel should be due to the noise of the "highway" avoided. From the airport is hardly the entry lane of disturbance despite options. All in all a good choice for kreativurlaub. read more

The first time was in 1998 in this hotel since when it has not changed. The building was Generally still in a reasonable condition, but in the next time - at least artifficial (will be renovated but I don't happen). The staircase, the walls in the restaurant and the pool area for example are barely acceptable. The interior of the room was also for over 10 years. It is probably have to now no one complained (I), because the overall condition so still acceptable. But what you for example. The breakfast every morning (scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, and jam ... and honey from the package), was more acceptable. In this direction, here doing nothing. It is apparently not recognized (or DISPLACED), that now other standards prevail, no longer justify the such a hospitality. Guests mainly British seniors and Festlandportugiesen (with full family of course! ). read more

It is a rather simple, yet clean place with friendly and unobtrusive staff. The food is good, but you can just as good in the immediate vicinity, but cheaper. The breakfast is just above average (the coffee get used to it). The ambience of the hotel suffers from the environment of the house, for example right over the pool the highway (20m). Conclusion: Simple, clean hotel on a very beautiful island. read more
