Too loud for relaxing

This hotel is very outdated. Also the swimming pool it cannot be good. The bathroom was partly very damaged and the shower head was broken. The room so small that we suitcase on the balcony had. Very loud outside noise 24 hours by 4 large turbines or air-conditioners before our balcony by the pool. Lift after a week broken was not even repaired. Breakfast ( English) good, but 2 weeks the same. Night was quiet not sleep. Very badly soundproofed in the entire place. And departure around the hour.
Portugal interested tourist should rather a few Euro more and a ... little bit better hotel choose.
We spend every year our vacation in Portugal and except for this year only good experiences made. read more

Not like a four-star hotel and the food was very directed towards the English guests. Front desk was also not always very helpful and informative. The one only English and no could speak German, or want, I guess you don't have to in Portugal life. Apart from that I can Portugal absolutely recommend, price-performance at restaurant visit. read more

The hotel Porta Nova is located as described adjacent to the old town of Tavira. The rooms are clean and are cleaned daily. The bathroom and of course the other premises are already' getting a bit old' this it would make sense for example ripped floor tiles to renew, or bath with a shower curtain against a shower stall exchange. The air conditioning is good. Our room lied on the 2nd floor with a view of the street. That means, that not quiet the balcony door open Mattresses were OK. The advertised German tv were 4 channels ( RTL II ..., Vox, Kika and Eurosport). So it was not possible all football games the EM and the Portuguese television has not the same desire as ARD and ZDF. The front desk was always helpful and answered any questions. Most hotel guests had only overnight stay with breakfast booked, so in the evening partly only a few hotel guests the food variety noticed and at noon still less in the buffet food it is advisable relatively early to eat out, as the courts with Warmhaltelampen on temperature be kept, however with longer the meals it to a drying out of the meat or fish is (is no different to implement). The chef put in the effort and the waiters are very attentive. The pool bar they mostly only all inclusive guests visited. In summary we have 2 quiet weeks of vacation in Tavira spent; however we had 10 days of which a car around the country and people to explore. Without a rental car would be the 2 weeks vacation have been too boring. Important is so when booking in mind, what you want. For a pure beach vacation at the beach there is at the Algarve other places that can offer. The beach respectively the sea are about 3 kilometers away from the hotel Porta Nova. read more

I am very satisfied, a room with a view of the old town/ port they have got. With 5-CARDS -flight booked for 215 euros the week ( without meals) and Tuiflug, you can not complain. The Wi-Fi in the lobby is very fast, the indoor pool is warm and in the lobby really friendly. The mandatory bathing cap (rubber and advertising imprint) for 3 euros(!) sold. The guest no laptop/ smartphone will mercilessly ripped off with 3 euros for 30 minutes Lobbyterminal. The mini bar ( large fridge) is empty; you can so-called Packets for 25/40/ 50 euros and so ... on buy. It should be on such a nonsense will not fall. read more

Good hotel, but in an area, it is also by the pool there was a lot of noise from the ventilation/air conditioning starting every 20 minute. The hotel had a beautiful view and the size suitable for family vacation. read more

A quite modern hotel at the top of Tavira. The stay at the hotel was quite pleasant, the service was nice and helpful. Some minor wartungsmängel are we noticed. The hair dryer in the bathroom was broken and on the balcony made a swallow's nest for unpleasant bird droppings. The price-performance ratio is absolutely in good order. read more

A big house, this time was not more booked up. On a hill, on the eastern side of the river, five minute. Walk to the Roman bridge.
Room was fine, the tv has seven deutschpr. Programmes but not very intelligently selected (two screens, but none with news). Breakfast mostly geared to a British guests relax in comfort and style. read more

We stayed as a group on site and I booked this hotel not ourselves. After reading the reviews here, I have the concern, but don't worry The rooms are not very big and they are more like the standard. The mattresses were relatively new and not worn down. The room was cleaned every day and also found a daily changing. The complex itself is not very big and in some places to be desired (dirty awnings, facades etc. The water of the pool is checked every day and 1-2 weekly cleaned (had luck with the weather, so we could sometimes ... also use the outdoor pool. The indoor pool (spa) is wonderfully warm, but very upset that you only swimming cap (complete nonsense cost €2.50 ) use. With a bit more effort and effort it could really be a great hotel. As a hotel for guests wishing to explore further afield, however it is ideal for the long-awaited and gesparten summer beach holiday not recommended. read more
