Lovely holiday in a casual atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. So should Karibik be on holiday. Rooms were very clean ( we have priveleged booked). Requests were as ordered taken care of. The beach section is one of the most beautiful you can see that if you are traveling from bayahibe from the Island of Saona drives. You can schnorchelmasken against a bail check-out counters and at the artificial reef fish to see. Excursions we did with Andy booked a local german just to be recommended. Kitchen was wonderful so that we the specialty restaurants not visited. read more

We have with this hotel a good choice met and would anytime again go on vacation there. The beach was really of the finest quality exactly, as well as the kitchen. Also with the entertainers we had lots of fun, if one no desire had to go through, was the topic dealt with immediately. But the ' tanzkurzse' super and in the evening mitzutanzen made simply fun. read more

We were in Karibik for the first time and felt felt really good in this hotel. The staff is Always friendly and in a good mood, room clean, food in the various restaurants and at the buffet very tasty and varied. The only thing, that we didn't like so much, was the division into privileged and standard, was a bit of a two classes of society. We have privileged booked, found but also the standard rooms enough. Otherwise we were completely satisfied and would recommend this hotel with a clear conscience. Also both of our children (10 and 14 years) ... it has really enjoyed. read more

After about an hour from the Punta Cana International Airport one arrives into the nice hotel of the hotel catalunya. First impression was very good. Great well-kept complex with many plants. On arrival we were a few few information about the hotel given, the in my opinion however somewhat more could be. The hotel has approximately 500 rooms, on small bungalows, each with 8 rooms spread. Really beautifully embedded in the flora the hotel. The age, and nationality was very varied. Americans, french, italian, german, swiss, etc. Every nationality had its own armbandfarbe, which we found a scary thought, it ... didn't bother us. Which us however dagegegen already disturbed, were the privilege guests. Not this personally, but what a hype has been made. We were already in many hotels, in which we also suite. That was the only difference to the other guests. In the catalunya have the privilege of guests not only a suite, but a private terrace, a private concierge, a private bar. Truthfully, i think the totally exaggerated and sometimes hydrolyses sichdas hotel in 2 classes. Or will it be a suggested. It is fair to say, however, that, even without privilege, very well umsorgt was. It is just strange everywhere in fat letters' privilegded' to read. read more

    Well, now to the point, the us as unfortunately disappointed. We were in the villa barahona upstairs unit. From the outside totally promising, what inside not confirmed. Without question, large the rooms are, but simply only crazy cold in relation to the furnishing and very dreary. Blue walls. A small closet, on the wall is. A work desk with a tv. And then not even a double bed, but 2 single beds. Well. We would for certain matters can, but we have the beds simply pushed together. But also strange as a couple not even a double bed-room, where there is still plenty of rooms were available. The quality the processing in the room was also not the best. But, what is important, very clean. I thought it was totally great, that the duschvorghang totally was fresh and not already 100 other people before the body had stuck. Mini bar was only filled with water. We found however not bad. Otherwise was the facilities a telephone, air conditioning, hair dryer and balcony. Even if the room at the start really not our expectations was, you get used to it quickly, since one anyway hardly in the room can hang out.

    This was the best food, i've in a hotel eaten. It was totally varied and plenty of choice. For breakfast it started with numerous freshly squeezed juices, as carrot, cucumber, melon, pineapple, banana, mango, etc. Also there were different sorts of milk. Lunch and dinner were also very good. There were always theme nights. In the corresponding colors were always the tables set and always spotlessly clean! I have stayed in the entire 16 days no dirty table or dirty tablecloth seen. Tables were always cleaned and the table cloths were changed. Also the staff is great nice dressed -always clean and elegant. Also always staff the restaurant and clears dropped food or exchanges spoon at the buffet from. Overall, there was the large main restaurant 'taino' and 4 à la carte restaurant. There is a liable to pay the costs (crawfish). Bars there is a large bar by the pool and an at the beach. The cocktails very well prepared. There is enough choice. Still to ambiance in the restaurants. The dominicans love music and the you could feel that. The food was always music, but very nice. Sometimes ran for dinner or lunch typical dominican music, the very quickly and hectic is, since one felt sometimes the food was a bit rushed, but great music and very pleasant. In 2 à la carte restaurants is the air conditioning. Best small jacket. It can already sometimes chilly. The food is to say, partly very greasy and just sugar sweet are. The desserts are partly so sweet, that you can't eat, but that's a question of taste.

    The service one can only say: perfect. The dominican are an incredibly affectionate and friendly people. One tries its best and is always attentive. In case of any problems will at the front desk took care of the problem immediately. Hardly one turned, already someone called, which should care. Also in the restaurant you get always friendly served. We have also experienced, that we longer on the morning coffee had to wait, but that was rather within limits, we only found it a shame, that so many waiters were, if once again the weekly review of the hotel decency. Linguistically you can super on english inform itself. A few words in spanish one can learn. Otherwise french. German not really. A doctor is in the hotel available, but probably very expensive. If it requires perhaps with the travel guide ask, whether opportunities in La Romana there are (no german service, but probably cheaper). To the room cleaning. Hmm, so it was on the first glance very clean. Even behind the beds was not a single dust bunny. But it was before, that you a bit dark feet got, if you went barefoot. With the room cleaning we were also in the way not satisfied, that towels on the balcony heruntergeworfen were, the pajamas on the back of a chair were thrown or bottles of water in the sink filed were. Perhaps we had simply only pitch, but that was a small drawback. Otherwise everything was efficient refilled. We had always enough water in the fridge.

    Also there is nothing to complain about. The entertainment was very varied. The good thing was, it was not at all notice. Clear, sometimes was loud called or it was' halli -Galli', but most of the time, it was rather quiet. It was the perfect mix of 'animation is audible' or 'not audible'. At the best always the programmtafeln read. There is everyone tomorrow language courses, every day different dances to practice, sports, etc. Kids club is available, however, the main language of french. Disco was in the hotel available. However on the rooms you can hear it nothing at all. Also evening shows are performed. We were however only with a. So we can not much on the quality of that. The pool was very clean, beach chairs intact, but it is by the pool no umbrellas. I wess not, whether the usual was for the domp. Republic we were a bit irritated. But are at the beach palmenschirme available. The showers were always clean and tidy. Every day the sand sifted and tidy raked. Top!

    Depending on where the room was located, one ran about 5 minutes to the beach. The restaurant maybe a minute. Very pleasant. The beach is great. Nice soft sand, aqua sea and enough chairs with shade from. One could go for eternally at the beach walk. After a few properties begins a nature park. Totally unaffected and very nice. On the way there one must a number of traders happen, the at the start a bit hard, but after a few days already knew, that you don't want to buy anything and then also in peace let. Otherwise at the beach always 2 dogs around. Very nice. They no people soul a bit. Excursions could be in the hotel at the diving centre, but also with the travel guide. However, we booked our trips at a migrant germans, whose small shop on the Wyndham hotel lies. We didn't regret it and can only recommend it. It is also cheaper way than with the travel guide the different tour operator. Bayahibe is approximately 10 minutes away. La Romana about 30 minutes. You can by taxi or public bus go there. Santo domingo is about 120 kilometers away and definitely worth a visit.

The hotel lies at a quiet stretch in walking distance to the national park. Who would like snorkels should rather do, the motorboats must not close ran drive, you can see many starfish, sea urchins and smaller fish. With a bit of luck also fishing like for instance eagle rays. At the beach the national park you can spend hours strolling. The artificial 'house reef' we found rather a joke. The hotel beach is nice and quiet, it gives beside numerous sports activities (Boccia, soccer, Volleyball, basketball, table tennis, billiards.) Also a 'no entertainment area' where one always your ... peace has. Throughout the club there is wi-fi, work but very slow. Breakfast is as always in buffet form and leaves nothing to be desired. You can also have lunch in two restaurants (who privileges is three, more about that later), once the main restaurant with international kitchen and the italian restaurant. We have almost always in the beach restaurant food, there were fresh wood-fired pizzas, always 5-6 different kinds of pasta, and always freshly grilled fish and meat with various side dishes. Dinner you can either in the main restaurant (there is every day another ländermotto-french, spanish mexican.) Or in one of the three speciality restaurants. (steak, mexican, italian). The specialty restaurants are very recommendable, the main restaurant especially at the weekend. Privileges? There is the possibility an upgrade (20 American Dollar per person per day). The best squares in the main restaurant (with views and fresh air on the edge) are for privileges guests reserved. Furthermore you can at the beach so many towels as you want to get, you need no towel card. The rooms are all newly renovated, are equipped with a very nice large bathroom and are closer to the beach, as well as the restaurants. The mini bar is daily filled with beer and soft drinks. There is directly at the beach its own restaurant, which only for privileges guests is. Furthermore there is a small well-equipped internet café with free of pressure. Whether the upgrade is worthwhile everybody has to decide for themselves. We have because of the rooms with a full minibar and towel service upgraded and not regret it. Who gladly rides was right here in any case. There are great horseback riding (no stupid tourist desk real horse riding) with beautiful horses offered. The riding school is an italian, the horses are really well maintained. Particularly the rides in naturschutzparlk at the beach are very recommendable. (circa 60 American Dollar for 2-3 hours) The club definitely recommendable. read more

Value for money is really great! The staff are very friendly! That not at all pleased and it really is a huge disadvantage are the privileges guests this is impossible, so nice the hotel is and everything fits is not okay! The bracelets to languages we found not good! But all in all it was good, food and drinks were very good! Very a lot of french people, but also german, austrians and americans! We liked it despite all loved it! read more

Terrific vacation with extremely high quality and perfect unit buffet, the equally selection of theme restaurants' on the wall, '. Very nice sandy beach (is not self-evident to our surprise!). 2 resorts further toward bayahibe was the beach karstiger stone - no chance to enter! At the gran dominicus perfect. The entertainment free zone is being respected and is generally not intrusive, but friendly. The shows are as everywhere 'lau', but consuming we in fact not really. For children sure ' usable ' ☺ Unfortunately big drawback: hot water and wasserleitungsdruck in the evening forget. Shampoo from hair to wash ... will sysiphusarbeit. The complaints will be friendly manner, but that was it already. Seems a hotelanlagenproblem to be. A great shame, because apart from that, the hotel is free heart best to recommend. The garatis wireless internet works in the room despite cost 'privileged' not. The upgrade to 'privileged' i can recommend to everyone, the etwa 300 Euro per week not too much are. The somewhat roomier room with a real double bed and very nice extrasitzbereiche in the large buffet are an extremely valuable rounding of the vacation! read more

Really beautiful facilities! The complex is though somewhat older, however it was everywhere clean and tidy! The rooms are also already older, however for a one time vacation sufficient (one is anyway hardly in the room on). Food and friendliness of the staff were very good. For entertainment very much was offered! read more

The medium-sized hotel area is nestled in a very far-reaching lovingly maintained and neat garden area. The rooms are in terms of size absolutely sufficient and are equipped with mini-bar (2 bottles of water per day) hair dryer, safe and wi-fi. The guests are mostly french speaking of the other equally spanish, italian, german and a few eastern europeans. The age is relatively mixed with a tendency to two thirds over 40 is.     The room was big enough with good beds, safe wireless internet, hair dryer and minibar (only with water stocked ) the furnishings with secretary and a tv (dw), as well as a large closet. Iron and ironing board are not available. In the rooms there were light signs of usage on walls and furniture but for us not more of. With the cleanliness we were in all areas were always satisfied and had no complaints in terms of functionality.

    The staff were all very friendly (also without tip) but what you would if you were catered. The language skills are depending on the service different some could also something german. With our room cleaning we were always satisfied. Child care and a 24 hours doctor service is available. If one has complaints can the front desk melfis demand he spoke relatively good german. We have with him the change done, which absolutely satisfyingly on the same day was taken care of. (the view is not much, then we got a room our expectations)

    The pool is large with jacuzzi on of the terrace and cleaned daily. The entertainment was not intrusive and it will be the usual sports offered. In the sea is at the end the schwimmbereiches a small artificial reef laid out what in my opinion relatively good of fish frequented (8-9 hours best) small rays, european congers lionfish, kuhfische, puffers and so on. About 400 meters far outside also starfish. Best in with a kayak otherwise there is danger by motor boats and catamarans. The chairs at the pool were better than the at the beach, but they were at our time just gradual renewed. ( beach chairs manned were also there, of course, as everywhere)

    The very nice beach with its clean Karibik water and many shady palmenplätzen is in 5 minutes. The transfer time is approximately 1 hour. If you wanted to shop something, is at the right hand the beach and the Iberostar behind the stores the road along and is within a quarter of an hour in the middle of in Domenicus. There was a cigar factory with sale, as well as plenty of shops and restaurants. Desk, there were everywhere something all a matter of price is. You can also the left long walks on the beach after the next hotel a nature reserve begins.

For this hotel it concerns an older hotel, accordingly simply are also the standard rooms designed. The hotel complex is in a beautiful and very well maintained parkland, what the somewhat older room more than compensate. The entertainment team is very ambitious. The main restaurant offers something ... for everyone, so that i only once the specialty restaurant (steak house) tried and then remorseful back to the main restaurant changed. Chairs on the beach there are enough, but unfortunately very few shade places and even less umbrellas, the mostly in the very early morning hours were occupied (probably gefälligkeitsreservierung by the securities, as i noticed). read more

Recommendable is it is not, as it is not my first holiday in the dominican republic was. If you even pitch had, had you morning no orange juice for breakfast, Nobody from the staff had the decency you to say, or to fill! 50% of the staff are friendly, the rest of you looked at either not in the mood to work or were overtaxed with their tasks. Lunch, if one was hungry, you had to over its wet clothes clothes dress, for in the snack bar at the beach to come. And shoes were a must! The difference between ... privileges and standard was ernorm. The privileges had booked, had also in the restaurant its own seat area, the guests more attention. This privilege has one also in the standard-rooms noticed, there was nothing looked flat water. The universe is inn! Every nationality has another wristband (from the color). Hi there, in december 2012 we stayed for 3 weeks. The complex alone and the beach are good. I would even say the this hotel the best beach section has. The previous review ton. The food not understand! No variation for breakfast, the theme nights for the food every week the same and rather 2 stars for the food. For those who need it. Ok! The cocktails stretched with sweeteners, Only highlight was the christmas buffet. Great! The rooms, standard are very old and not recommendable! read more

We were shortly before christmas there and were just enthusiastic. Our room was always clean, as well as the entire area. The food was varied, tasted good, there was a massive choice and there was something there for everyone. Particularly the mexican and steak house were very good. The beach and the pool was always clean and super well-kept. Approximately 20 meters from the beach was an artificial reef designed where you great snorkeling and all kinds of fish is. The staff were in the large and whole also always friendly and accommodating. Our only point of criticism this is ..., that you, except at the front desk, almost not with english to communicate. But most of them but very good french. Also the sporting activities on offer were good. We found it good that the most sports directly at the beach were, as Boccia, Volleyball, table tennis. The only what we definitely advise you not to go there would a trip to Island of Saona on the scuba dive center at the beach to book. We have, unfortunately, and it was an absolute letdown. It was advertised as a tour through the mangroovensümpfe to the virgin Iceland there should we then snorkelling then click the Island of Saona food and then with the catamaran to a place in the sea where the water chest and many starfish to be. The conclusion was not a single starfish seen, not snorkelling, 2 minutes mangroovensumpf tour, then 3,5 hours stay on soana where the salesmen on a wait and then again with the catamaran back. And whole then for 80 Dollar. Complete letdown and we can really only advise you not to go there. Apart from that it was a succesful vacation and we can really recommend the hotel. read more

The hotel we have last-minute for a very reasonable price. It is an older area- Ge with a very nice well-kept garden. Of nationalities about 40% french, 30% german u.30% Russians. We had a standard room with good beds, however the bathroom urgent needed- And. The restaurant works with its facilities very unfriendly -particularly the old rickety chairs u. Tables. The staff there was mostly friendly, however in the morning usually overworked. The handrub When entering is for the birds, if it wasn't all make. The food tasted good. It was diverse and mostly good seasoned. The pizzas in ... the italian restaurant at lunch were very good. At the merenguerobar there was from early until late with prompt service all kinds of drinks. The beach is half worn and needs poured. The liegenreservierer strike already at night. Tips for the efficient staff will unfortunately far from enough given. read more
