The May Hotel is a pleasent place for rest and relaxation in picturesque quiet environment. Well run by friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and facilities are kept clean and tidy with care. The house catering offers diverse and tasty meals and drinks including variety of fruit and desserts. Nice spacious beach is at close proximity. Shopping and siteseen easily accessible. The palm tree courtyard with singing birds and a large well maintained swimming pool inside is a fabulous site. read more

Starting with the warm welcome, to personal recommendation for authentic greek restaurant us this informally run hotel convinced. The hotel is very well-kept, the English lawn around the spacious pool, the fine lunch buffet and the immediate distance to the beach, with the wonderful greek tavern, only 20 meters from the sea were one of the many highlights in this hotel. We will certainly be back. Good service - beautiful rooms - very good food - and so many Greece feeling-we will be back! read more

Small hotel with wonderful well maintained garden, and a beautiful large and very clean pool. About one hundred meters to the beach with enough beach chairs and umbrellas and a close tavern. The cool drinks to order to the beach chairs,.
Hotel owners and staff are very friendly, accommodating and speaking partly also very good German.

Perfect hotel for the peaceful holidays. The hotel is rather small and cosy. It is located in a remote quiet area between Rethymno and village Platanias, so you can enjoy silence through the night. The hotel is well run. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and with good furniture, TV and small fridge. There is also free Wi-Fi. The hotel restaurant offers a good choice of meals. The evening meal is different every day. The pool area is located in a very beautiful palm garden. The beach is about 5 mins to walk. It is ... never crowded. When it is stormy, one can easily switch to the pools. The hotel offers beach towels and sun umbrellas for a deposit of 5 Euro, so you do not have to pay for them on the beach. The shopping area and village restaurants are about 15 mins walk from the hotel. To visit Rethymno, one should take the bus. The hotel is well accesible by the car. The hotel carpark is free and located in the shade. read more

It was a very relaxed stay at this hotel. Of course also due, that the hotel not even half full. On some days we sat almost alone in the dining room. So, everything great so far. The all inclusive performance you should give and so a rental car and with the Lidl in platanias shopping-) the only bad thing is, the front desk during the day sometimes up to 20 minutes not occupied and the room key for everyone is accessible. It is also happened, after the cleaning of the rooms the room not locked and the balcony door ... was open. Here must urgently Remedy. On a review in regard to family friendliness I declined, since in my opinion the hotel not is created.
To the beach it are about 5 minutes, 2 chairs and an umbrella costs 5 Euro. The hotel offers the possibility, beach towels and a portable umbrella are to be lent free of charge. The beach is in the transition into the sea but very rocky. read more

We spent our honeymoon in this lovely hotel and it was simply perfect. Lovely and peaceful place to stay (smaller and cozy, not like big impersonal resorts) with clean apartments, beautiful garden with crystal clear pool, delicious greek cuisine, and the most amazing staff we have ever met. These guys are just incredible. read more

The hotel is in magnificent condition, cleaned air-conditioning devices, freshly painted pool, all great clean.
The owner even with our late arrival at 23:00 o'clock still something warm to food and with us the terrace and US the hotel complex the village and possible activities declared, which simply great and experienced.
It was a great relaxed vacation and we will definitely again flight, possibly even stay longer.
The service is always great, as well as the food and the friendliness all staff also. read more

We wanted a week relaxation in a comfortable hotel by the sea and that was it also! The hotel the family who run it and very nice ( partly long ) staff run. Late arrivals and early departures we extra somewhat ready. The food was quite varied and tasty, there are regional products from local farms are served. I and my friends had holiday two times at May hotel, last - in September 2011. The hotel is quiet, cozy and tidy. The boss Nikolaos and all staff are always friendly, sincere and ready to help. I didn't need restaurants and bars in the area, our company had excellent dinner and good time in hotel's restaurant and bar. The food was varied and delicious, some of the national dishes were very tasty. And what a wonderful barbecue party with greek dances! I really like relax near the pool under the palms (a beautiful corner of nature!),go swimming to ... the beach early in the morning, swimming in the waves. On the beach weren't a lot of people ( that is good for my), distance about 200 meters. The hotel have a good location, 10 min by bus to Rethimno's center,there isn't problem to get excursion by ferry to Santorini The staff helped us to rent a car and we could travell around the amazing Crete, the national Road is not far from hotel Thank you May hotel for a wonderful holiday! read more

We had booked half board, we had to but each night up until about the strong 2h30 noise from the hotel bar with the management of the hotel, music and the all-inclusive guests. No relaxation was possible. Never again! read more

My friends and I have beautiful holiday in May hotel. The hotel is very cosy, staff are friendly, obliging. There are barbecue, Greek national music and dances parties in hotel. Food are tasty, big choice of dishes. We had late arrival at first day and restaurant did not work, but we had dinner because of obliging staff. The area around hotel - terrace, beautiful garden, swimming pool -are wonderful, you can hide under trees and flowers. Rooms are clean, comfortable. The hotel itself has good place - bus stop is about 50 m from hotel, Platanias is 200 m from ... hotel, Rethymno is 4 km from hotel. The hotel has good geographical place in Crete. You can rent car and go to all sides - it will be not far to all districts of Crete. I had holiday in May hotel fourth time and I will go to May hotel next time. My friends will go to May hotel next time too. read more

As few both 55, have a very great vacation hotel on Crete in May. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good and tasty, anyway, we always found something we liked. If it's your first time in Crete, you have to rent a car and see the island. To the beach it was about 300-400 meter where you can get beach chairs fee required. Opportunities for shopping and bus station directly in front of the hotel. read more

Overall, it was okay, good location of the hotel and the distance to the beach, the apologized one or the other shortcomings. Dinner (main courses should be the warm) was unfortunately always cold no matter what time but there are good restaurants nearby where you can eat very well. I would recommend this hotel again but only with breakfast, half board not to mention the more keinesfallse all-inclusive the staff was always friendly and helpful. Hotel is to recommend it the food in the hotel was rather not! read more

If possible room facing the pool garden reserve, because of the street noise could be heard. Room change was locally based on availability no problem.

Unfortunately no four star hotel! Very negative was the daily cleaning of the room. There were only towels were changed and the beds were made. The floor was roughly cleaned (corners were ignored). The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned, the sink and the vanity have been omitted. The mirror in the bathroom was apparently never. When entering the room were some hair from our predecessors on the floor. Average high! The air conditioning was on the lamellae full of mold, at night by unbearable loud ' POPs 'not enough to keep.
The food was in order, as not very high ... expectations. It was noticeable, that is much too much fat was cooked (especially in the mornings, the eggs (scrambled eggs alternately, fried eggs). Sad, that there is absolutely no evening entertainment was. In our opinion, the price-performance ratio not at all. Understanding how the high percentage of recommendation Come about! positive were the guests of the hotel (Germany, Poland, France), the service in the restaurant and the nice weather ☺ read more

Unfortunately you have to take the bus to the beautiful old town of Rethymnon to come. It is suitable for families, nice pool area, beach unfortunately bad, food disappointing-had a lot of ate out. read more
