We (a party of 7 Irish and yours truly, one Belgian) stayed in the Gasthof the 3rd week of February 2013. For my Irish friends their best ski holiday (7th) so far. For me (can’t remember when I started first ski holiday) absolutely fantastic. Everything in and about the hotel was just perfect. We stayed in the Gästehaus in two family rooms. The rooms are spacious, very clean and in the typical Austrian farmer style. The two minute walk to the Gasthof suited us very well to wake up completely and to enjoy the scenery. The Gasthof itself is outstanding. ... The family Kohlmayr and the staff are full of attention and friendliness for their guests without being over the top. No question was too much. There is a real authentic Austrian friendly family atmosphere with a personal touch that spread to all guests. The kitchen and the service at the table is definitely 4 stars. From the extensive breakfast buffet to the excellent and generous dinner. No nouvelle cuisine but decent and beautiful served dinners (the Bauernbuffet and the Gala-dinner, the ‘Tortenbuffet’ …). You can see that they have a wine cellar. They know their wines and how to serve them. A double plus for any wine connoisseur. Four evenings they organize something for their guests. I remember a fabulous rodel race and a lovely torch walk. You are informed about the environment friendly power plant during the walk. As a ski tourist you never take it in consideration how the mountain people are busy with the ecological aspect of ski tourism. Anyhow, a special note for the barman Jürgen. He is a great craic and a real entertainer (I still can taste the home brewed shots). Frau Kohlmayr is the mam every young man over fifty want to have as a mam. The fresh products from the own farm a delicious (the buttermilk).Team is just great. We go back!! And not just for one week. Forgot to visit the stables, shame on me. Jan. read more

Rooms: in the Gastehaus. Clean every day. Good sleep and just great to put the tele on in the morning and see the webcams with the traditional music. Very quiet. Big bathroom. Good shower.

No problem. Brilliant. While we tried to polish our german they exercise their english. Room service was at it best. Every day fresh towels. Free wifi ect ect

We did not used the facilities. At the end a pity. But my girlfriend got a very good back massage. So, a 6 for that because I know her.

Beautiful village. Just an hour from Salzburg Airport. After a full day skiing in Obertauern a relief to come back to.
