Our 5. mail we have a few beautiful holidays in the villa opuntia on Madeira spent. It was - as always - total relaxation. We know no other house-and we are vocationally much in hotels on the way, you could of course welcome, where hospitality is not an empty word is, where always very empathic the balance between privacy and cordial sympathy to be preserved.

We experienced in the january a wonderful erholungswoche. From the first moment we have in the villa opuntia at home felt and after each hike with friends in our beautiful apartment relaxation. The staff are around accommodating, very attentive and even spoke german. In january in summer temperatures wonderful hikes something to do, Funchal in the christmas gloss to be seen and many colorful flowers can be seen for one of the at this time of the year snow used is amazing. Definitely again. read more

Quiet small hotel with a wonderful view over the atlantic ocean. The hotel is very small and comfortable. The apartments are well equipped and clean. The breakfast is sufficient and diverse and in the room/ on the balcony served. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speaks also german (the owner is an austrian). The hotel lies an elevated position above the sea, but with a direct view of the sea and quiet on the edge of town. You can the beach and restaurants within walking distance. It buses to Funchal and (from there) in all areas the island. There are shops in the higher Canico or in one of ... the minimercados for small needs. We felt very good. read more

Very recommendable hotel in private atmosphere, very good care (also in german language),
Very pleasant and attractive welcome, individuality is important here; peaceful location - wonderful beds. Small ( eres ) however therefor very nice ( eres ) hotel. We really felt very, very comfortable - especially pleasant the breakfast was mornings on the terrace in the sun with a view of the beautiful garden, pool area and of course the sea. read more

The villa opuntia is a privately run, small hotel without restaurant. The breakfast (standard or gourmet with 5 € surcharge per person) is on the balcony serves (after phone call at the front desk). The two frontdesk employees are extremely friendly and we as far above average estimated. The rooms are spacious with living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The degree of wear the carpets and upholstery is however completely unacceptable. Is disturbing furthermore the additional outlay, so costs nespresso capsules, wood (for the fireplace), heaters outside the bathroom and sauna in addition, what the high cost of the property ... by ourselves and inadequate experience was. In the november it was quite cold, so that in the absence of heaters additional heat sources were needed, but additional costs developed. The location of the hotel is characterized by great atlantiksicht, within walking distance are restaurants (for example habeas coppus) or a mini market (spar ) reachable. The pool is small, could in november not be used. The value for money we do not very satisfied satisfactory. read more

For a peaceful stay perfectly suited. Staff included boss very accommodating and at all times friendly and nice, but not pushy. We had apartment 06 with a huge balcony and dreamlike view.

For all, the for hiking and relax to Madeira come, is the villa opuntia as a place to stay can only be recommended. Peacefully located and still easy to reach offers you all the comfort for a relaxing hotel. Small, but very nice facilities. Beautiful, spacious rooms, the everything for a relaxed vacation offer ( included nespresso machine).
Bar area and the reading corner are much nicer than in the catalog \u263a
Very nice, courteous and above all authentic staff.
We were a bit disappointed the entertainment / shopping options. The hotel bars on site are definitely not by comfort and the other pub seemed very touristy.
The tips by the hotel concerning restaurants are all the better!
Had unfortunately somewhat bad luck with the weather ( travel time at the end of october) and a lot of rain ... and fog. Nevertheless offers the island many excursions also not for the hikers. read more

Very beautiful room; kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room with fireplace. Size about 50 sqm. Terrace with access to the pool. Everything very clean, the rooms, as well as the outside area. Pool was cleaned regularly and the water circulated.
Great location with a view of the atlantic ocean. Exceptionally friendly waiters, breakfast is on the balcony/terrace, either, or in his own direction. Good breakfast with a choice of dishes, there was always on the wishes received. Guest structure: middle age 45, german speaking (d, a, ch ), no children. Good contact, as small complex.

The team was very to be guests hard and always friendly and competent with advice and act to the side. On wishes was always and implemented. No noise from the planes ( if you fear a view of Google Maps has), only dog and faucet in now and then. The service in the house was unique: breakfast there are in the room respectively on the balcony. One speaks German. All are very nice and you have the feeling, it is a welcome guest and not a number. The ( bed-) linen is frightening often. Everything is very clean. Only small restriction (for me): I do not like feather beds. :-) read more

We can the small hotel to 100% recommendable. The apartment was big and equipped with everything, with attention to detail( coffee machine, espresso machine, flowers, Candles, bathrobe.). The hygiene is unsurpassed, dishes, bathroom sparkling clean, perfect. The very friendly reception staff spoke perfect German and English and is very helpful. We had a car for the entire stay ( except at and day of departure, there transfer included), we would highly recommend. You should definitely, Queimadas, the highest mountain Pico ruivo and rabacal on foot explore ( Flashlight do not forget and head levy in the tunnel) and in ... Seixal there is a wonderful Bay! The countryside Madeira is beautiful and very varied, in September we had no rainy day also for excursions into the North, where there are already 10 degrees colder can be. read more
