Very good hotel near the airport from Kolkata. Very suitable for short stays (proximity to airport, less suitable to visit of the city center of calcutta, as far away). Rooms meet european 1st class hotel standards. Brilliant is its access to a larger shopping mall (with the usual shops and fast food chains), the right with the hotel is connected to. Very good management, a late demanded 1-day sightseeing of Kolkata was within 15 minutes perfect organized (driver and guide). Rooms meet today at Europa usual hotel standards, were probably of the same knee-architect planned (these nonsensical frosted glass between ... the room and the bathroom, light switches everywhere, where you don't need, etc., but there was no switch in the entrance). Gratisinternet in the room (lan, cable and wi-fi). Recommendation: on a room without connecting door to the room next door are, otherwise no soundproofing. The Swissotel in Kolkata is characterised by the cool, modern and practical interior (photos). The hotel is about three months old and is located about ten minutes from the airport. The shopping centre with restaurants is directly connected to the hotel by a separate entrance. The rooms are modern, functional and with small extras (for example, a coffee kitchen). Internet costs extra!. The bar with a large glass front (6th floor) and the large pool on the roof allow a full view of the runway. The air traffic, however, can not be heard in the hotel or in the rooms! ... Only the room rate affected the very good overall impression. read more
