Hotel The Level at Meliá Villaitana^{(5 stars)}

The hotel is 4 kms away from Benidorm's hustle and bustle. It is built like a Spanish village with many buildings and even a church. There are two sections in the hotel: the level side and the normal side. They have separate receptions, pools and breakfasts. We had booked a penthouse suite from the level side and were greeted very warmly when arrived to the reception desk. The suite itself was probably the same size as standard suites but it had a semi outdoor jacuzzi in a glass house. The price was twice the stardard suite. So it was a ... quite expensive jacuzzi. The minibar with soft drinks and two beers was free but the internet was not. Also there were no coffee or tea making facilities in the room but you could get them for free in the level lounge. From 19 to 20 the level guests get free drinks and snacks at the terrace of Indigo restaurant. We ate lunch at La Barbacoa restaurant by one of the numerous pools. There was very slow service by two female not so friendly waitresses, although there were just ten customers. The dinner we had at La Trattoria restaurant. There was better service with a nice atmosphere. However the saltimbocca was rubbery as was the breakfast omelette at Indigo restaurant in the following morning. read more
