Really recommendable for a short break. Especially the pub around the corner ('the Wellington') is worth a visit. Also the breakfast is really enjoyable. In addition to that, WiFi is free of charge. Perfect. read more

The mespil hotel has approximately 250 rooms. It served us as a starting point for a city tour. Our stay took 1 week. The entrance area, the staircase, elevator and hallways are clean and tidy. Vending machines ( drinks, ice etc.) on the ground floor and 2nd floor. We had a room to the lateral road, it was quiet. The audience was mixed, more often groups, but also locals. From the ages were all age groups represented. At the front desk sometimes a German speaking/ German staff, apart from that is the language of course speaks English. read more

We had a triple -room with a double bed and a single bed. Mattresses feast and pleasant. Room sufficient size, flat screen-tv, desk, small round table with 2 armchairs available. The room was located to the lateral road, therefore very quiet. Telephone, coffee-/ tea making facilities available, hair dryer also. Bathroom big with tub and shower. Unfortunately no handbrause, but feast mounted shower head on the wall without large verstellmöglichkeit. Bath with handles/ausstiegshilfe.

We have twice evenings details in the hotel dinner-soup of the day and pizza - both very good and quickly prepared. There are 2 different rooms, where you can eat.

Very friendly staff, always helpful. Adapter for English electricity there are plug sockets at the front desk, maps are in blocks from. Sometimes German front desk employee, apart from that we arrived with our knowledge of English well. For breakfast friendly welcome, you were welcome us to a free table... If we in the extensive breakfast buffet came, the room was mostly already again ready and cleaned. Irish breakfast buffet and continental breakfast and every morning fresh fruit/ fruit salad (no canned fruit!)

The hotel is at a street directly on the Grand Canal in the georgian part of dublin, I would the southern limit of the city area say. Bus connection in approximately 500 meters distance. A shuttle the hop-on/hop-off city sightseeing stops once in the morning right on the hotel. Park st. Stephens green, 'connell street pedestrian precinct/ old town Temple bar you can within 15 to 20 minutes on foot reach.

As part of our Southern Ireland trip 'Irish Highlights' by DERTOUR we were staying at the beginning and end of the trip in this hotel. The hotel is already somewhat older, but so far clean and tidy. Only in the gastronomy area, you must be careful, as glasses and tableware could be sticky sometimes or show rests from the previous users. Breakfast is continental or typical Irish/English plentiful at the buffet. In less than 30 minutes you are in the pedestrian area and the pub district Temple Bar behind it. The rooms to the inner courtyard are at night somewhat ... louder, since there are constantly activities and fans running. We were for 4 days in this hotel. Good, central location. The check-in was a bit strange, as we had a somewhat arrogant young lady in front of us. Otherwise, the staff is very nice and helpful. The furniture is quite worn out. Veneers torn and so on, but everything was clean. However it is recommendable because of the good price-performance ratio. read more

The hotel isn't brand new any more, however quite reasonable. At the beginning and at the end of our trip we stayed one night each in this hotel. The first night we were on the 5th Floor, where the water pressure is very poor and the shower is not fun. The second night on the first floor was better, however therefore noisy, although the window faced out to the side street. The location of the hotel is perfect, though. You are within 15 minutes walking on Stephen's Green. Also the staff at reception are very willing to help and will ... be glad to answer all questions. read more

Uncomfortable city hotel archived

The hotel is a typical city hotel for “Durchreisende”. Corresponding is also the personal service. We were in the context of a round trip at the beginning 1 night and at the end of the round trip 2 nights in this hotel. The condition generally leaves to be desired for European conditions. The equipment of the baths as well as the cleanliness of the rooms did not correspond indeed to our conceptions. We had half-board, which halfway was correct in the context of the organized bus round trip. read more
  • Room
    2.0

The size of the rooms was not too large sufficiently. The equipment came into the years, the carpet had marks. The armatures of the bath are on the conditions of about 1950 (no mixing tap, old taps for cold and warmly, without being able to mix even. The bath tub (simultaneous shower) did not invite necessarily to staying. The toilet flushing functioned after “good Zureden”. No room had a balcony, the window could one at night leave not open. At one night we had a room to the yard, from which the meal smell of the kitchen to us came and had at the end of the journey we a room to the road, which was too loud, in order to leave the window open at night. A water digester for coffee/dte is present in each room, we however did not use.

  • Gastronomy
    4.0

There is here a restaurant for the main meals and a bar, in which one still its Guinness could drink in the evening. The Frühstücksbuffet corresponds to Irish conditions. Fresh toast, Beans, fried egg, fresh fruit and yogurt with muesli were always good to eat. We took the dinner as 4-Gänge-Menü, which corresponds to normal standard. Nothing unusual in addition, not badly. In the bar one comfortably and also the operation could sit was nice there.

  • Service
    3.0

The service staff in the restaurant was friendly, but gestresst in the evening also times, if a travel's group had being served like we with about 45 persons at the same time. The up and clearing of the table-ware took place rather as in a cafeteria (collecting point of the dirty table-ware directly beside the tables). The staff spoke excluding English (travelers without English knowledge were here lost). If one had missed the waitress for paying, one had at the Desk of the restaurant about 10 minutes of control rooms, in order to loose-will its money. The room cleaning could not have been accomplished properly, since we found a thick Staubschicht on the Ledersesseln in the rooms and had to eliminate it only once. More near into the depth we did not go rather.

For the investigation of the city Dublin the situation of o.k. is in about 20 min. footpath is one in the city center. One needs for it no taxi or public means of transport. Since the airport is because of the edge of the city, one must naturally take a taxi here or one has the luck and the transfer is contained in the travel price.

The hotel is directly located at Grand Canal, as it is quaint and tranquil. Despite the size of the house it was in the room on the fifth floor quiet. One night was on the hotel hall some noise otherwise they are obviously thick walls for Irish standards - you don't hear from next door. The street in front of the hotel was paved, but after 11:30 pm and in the morning the work. Strangely, there is no closet in the room, you can open the hang your clothes. We had not booked including breakfast. The breakfast buffet was ... well stocked. The room has the charm of a Bahnhofsvorhalle. We had the hotel buffet twice dazugenommen, but you can also one of the numerous cafes around the corner heaps. The location of the hotel to the center is reasonable considering the quality that the rest of the hotel with the affordable price. 200 meters around the corner take bus number 10 with reasonable frequency into the center of town. Walk from Grafton Street of about 20 minutes. read more

The Buslinien drive also into the surrounding countryside to to the sea! We made a whole day with Dublin bus a Hop on Hop off route further. One rises at various objects of interest out… And after the inspection! Everything completely easy and loosely.

The hotel is a good base for exploring the exciting city Dublin. Our check in from the airport was with the air coach bus completely unproblematic. Check-in was great was that the gentleman at the front desk spoke fluent German. We had two double rooms, which were next to each other. Both rooms were large, clean and comfortable warm. We couldn't open the window, but the vent in the bathroom was spotless. Also, the bathroom was fine. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful., as well as the food in the restaurant in the evening, although not so diverse. In about ... ten minutes walk to the 27 -acre park "Stephen's Green" and from there you are in a breeze in the beautiful pedestrian zones. If you like some time is a short trip to the sea: easy bus ride from Connolly station peninsula Howth drive ( about 30 minutes). Will be having Dublin definitely visit again and certainly stay again in the Mespil-hotel again and again! read more

The hotel is because of the edge of the town center (if one in such a way to call can). One reaches the pedestrian precinct anyhow within 15 - 20 minutes. Up to the Temple bar there is then about 5 minutes more. But everything in the bearable measured and definitely to foot feasiblly. There the Irish a friendly Völkchen are were also our receipt at the reception accordingly friendly and forestalling. Our room lay in the third floor forward to the Grand Canal out. Was there also immediately the road, but of it one actually heard nothing. The breakfast ... was offered as buffet and was completely satisfying for us and for well found. I was last also a few teammates in London and can say Ireland have with England absolutely nothing with the breakfast together (fortunately: -)) the Puplikum in the hotel was mixed. The room had a pleasant size. A Kingsize bed, besides still another further bed, two armchair, desk, television stood for our purposes completely sufficiently.

We had booked only ÜF, therefore I can evaluate also only that. There was scrambled egg, fried eggs, small sausages, roasted bacon, roasted tomato, toast, roll, Croissants, muesli, fruit, yogurt, sausage, cheese and jam. Of Al beverages stood to the selection: Coffee, dte, orange juice, apple juice, multi-fruit juice and the classical author from the airplane… Tomato juice: -)

In the room did not the light on the dessert, nor the TV, nor the heating tidy. During our stay The bathroom was not cleaned once. There were only towels changed and the beds made, more than ten minutes the maid but not for us anyway Found on the floor from the previous crumbs, the same in the small kitchen unit, which in addition was sticky. We preferred to make us anything to eat here After we approached the cleaning lady and in addition a note left, nothing changed! Never again will I go to the hotel. The price is ... very, very cheap, but cleanliness you might still ask for! read more

We have the Mespil as a starting point for excursions in Dublin and the surrounding area. Overall, we were completely satisfied with the hotel. The typical English breakfast buffet was ( for a full breakfast also very good. Our room was bright and clean. Since it was on the side of the hotel was straßenzugewandten, you always heard some traffic. But it was just in the absolutely tolerable. We had experienced worse! The quite central location of the hotel contingent of course, that for trips out of Dublin first had to be planned a long time, go with a rental ... car from the city herausrauszukommen. However it is all the more suitable as a starting point for tours within the city to serve. You are within 15 minutes in the city center. read more

From the hotel one is within a short time with bus number 10 in the O'Connel Street. To foot one needs about 10 to 15 minutes. We have 5 Day at the airport a Rambler - ticket procures. We could drive with that air left No. 747 up to the O'Connel Street, step out few meter further down to go and then in the bus number 10 enter! The ticket is valid for 5 days! Importantly the days do not have to be one on the other following, but it counts the days down if one in the bus “marks”. We were 5 nights and thus had we 1 day to get along without the bus to take and on the last day were allowed we still with the bus to drive. In the proximity is SAVE.

In December I was with a friend for three nights at the Mespil hotel and highly recommend it. The location is great, central and easily reachable by bus. In 10 minutes you are at the O'Conell Street. Still quiet. Bars, cafes, subway, and Burger King directly next door or around the corner. The staff, maids, receptionist was nice and helpful. The rooms modern and clean. Unfortunately, no German channel, but you are not to watch television in Dublin. The breakfast was delicious and very generous. For the day of our departure, we could have breakfast at the hotel there was ... even a packed lunch to go! read more
