The hotel during the last major earthquake damaged, but is in use. Access is again through the back entrance, and a part of of the hotel is locked. Nevertheless one can without hesitation and without einbusse the quality there one or more nights. Size and the condition were enough to good, emphasized should be the really big fridge, which we also used. There was a salon table with 2 chairs available, which is not in every hotel room is found.

We have neither the diner still the breakfast eat there. The quality the dining room and the card was on good quality close.

  • Service

Both the a -, as well as when checking out normal good service. But we had to at check in some hooks, not just the room next to of the lobby to get. The pick-up delayed somewhat and this has the hotel by telephone told, us as a customer however not informed (which is not very pleasing was, because we some time in of the lobby had to wait). Otherwise was staff always friendly and helpful.

We have not searched for, but except for a small library also found nothing. Like the majority of hotels one is always and for sleeping there.

The hotel is nearby the botanical garden, the access to the airport done by taxi or super shuttle service (or competition offers). In the proximity (walking distance) are several restaurants.

We have stayed there (couple) 1 night, unfortunately disappointing, since we two nights ago in Christchurch in a very nice motel were. Although the hotel accomm in a Deluxe room on the travel agent was booked half a year ago, we were given a room with only a couple two single beds (no queen size bed). In the room there was a very large, round window, the tightened was very visible, if not the curtains you. The window was from the outside very subtly with cobwebs course, we left it to therefore, as we feared bugs. The hotel is very ... rustic, because of the confusing something, so that, for example, we did not on first attempt the breakfast room could find. The breakfast is offered as a buffet, but also only the level of the ordinary middle class (very little fresh fruit, mostly from preserved, only a sort sausage, the beach easy was low, since the dish on ice, the scrambled eggs was with milk diluted and a dreadful slimy mass, no dried fruit to cereal, only 1 sort toast, otherwise no bread, the coffee was served despite repeated memory only, as the breakfast already almost past was; guests, the preference already mornings fats bratwurst with hash browns, and pancakes, could not complain). All in all, we can recommend the hotel not, these have also told our travel agent. read more

The Hagley Park archived

The hotel is a venerable decor, the celebrations can be used by locals. Nice house on the Hagley Park, but got a little bit older. We got an upgrade, the rooms were taken with a little more amenities, a coffee-card ( there was so many coffee drinks and tea etc, as you want ) and the breakfast is very cheap. Cost about 25 Euro per night. Own parking place and free, there is a free shuttle to the city. The breakfast is very good and varied. From the hotel in the city just a 30 minutes walk through the park ... and a few blocks. The botanical gardens are not as nice as the Wellington the Canterbury Museum but a recommendation. strolling along the high street in the C1 espresso a break. read more

At the hotel there was nothing decisive to complain about, it's not a great new building but mostly renovated inside and a very well maintained and unterhaltenem condition. No complaints concerning cleanliness. Not too big but very nice garden with outdoor swimming pool. read more

Our room had a stylish furniture and very comfortable beds. Noise from other rooms or corridor minimum to not hear it. The A/C could be adjusted.

The breakfast buffet is extremely rich, and fresh fruit, salmon, cereal, hot breakfast etc. etc. And the price for that adequate (if you only one piece of bread and a coffee for breakfast, you will eat out of course the cheaper).

For a city in a top location, right next to the lovely and huge municipal park in Christchurch, on the way in the city on foot could cross and absolutely one should (approx. 20 Minutes, yes so big is the park! ) The park is so nice, that you like doing that although the hotel a complimentary shuttle service into the city offers shuttles, but you should reserve ahead. Bus stops close by. The street noise stops relax with many rooms very limited or is not hear it. Our room was on the hotel parking lot / side street and not the quietest using existing room, overall but also here very little street noise.

On our New Zealand trip we stayed here for 2 nights. We were very comfortable in this hotel. The rooms are large and well equipped (also with air conditioning / heating). The condition of the bathroom was good. Room service for a nominal fee. Evenings we once in the restaurant in the hotel and even eat in the bar. Both were very good. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and good. Pleasant service throughout the hotel. The hotel is nicely arranged and in about 15 minutes you reach the city on foot. The hotel is for a short stay in Christchurch ... definitely recommendable. To the single facilities of the hotel I can't further information, as we didn't have time to use them. read more

Breakfast for NZ standards very varied, with different types of meat and cheese, eggs, cereal, coffee, tea, juice as well as usual english breakfast.
