A very comfortable stay. We were made very welcome by all the staff and looked after well. The food was superb and the hotel itself is well situated fro the town and ski lift. Great facilities for skiers and apres-ski relaxation. read more

We stayed here with our whole family = 11 adults and 5 children and everyone was very happy and very well taken care of. Breakfast and diner were excellent and very tasty and the whole staff of the hotel is very competent and friendly. Swimming pool is amazingly large and wonderful for all the children and the wellness area is nice and sufficient. We would come back any time and can recommend this hotel without any exception. Would be nice if the whole hotel was smoke free and the smoking area was not separate. Otherwise an excellent little hotel with great food. Nice to have free soft drinks and not to be charged for water. Great location near ski slopes. read more

Stayed here for the second time. We absolutely love it and will certainly be going back. The rooms are excellent -we stayed in a comfort appartment which was really spacious and great for the children to have their own room. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us, even arranging an earlier evening meal for our young daughter. Pool is lovely and a big hit with the children! Wellness area seemed lovely too but we didn't use. The hotel is really close to the lifts and slopes, and you can almost ski back to the door. We are ... already looking forward to going back next year! read more

Why are reviews worth writing? We were two families of 4, second time skiers and wanted to be within a sensible distance of Salzburg for easy flights. We love Austria and its people, so we needed a good resort with plenty of piste and snow and somewhere nice to stay with a pool for the kids for some post ski r+r. We identified Obertauren off the net and it proved to be perfect - plently of snow, lots of piste, great lifts and resteraunts etc to eat on the move. We needed a hotel and picked the Kohlmayer off the ... net having read other peoples reviews. They were on the whole accurate having discounted the extreme ravers and those who can never be satisfied. Nothing to criticise at all - 8 out of 8 of us would go back - and we plan to. Warm, friendly, clean. good facilities, great food (b"fast, post ski lunch and dinner), ski hire, lessons, close to lift and near enough to the apres ski if you want it. Not a kiddie hotel nor a singles and a really good mix of people from a host of nations. We will go back. read more

We felt so good in this hotel. The room with the balcony was so nice, the meals (breakfast and dinner were really excellent as well as the bar). It was also possible to get a meal between 3p.m. and 5 p.m included in the price.The wellness area was also perfect for relaxation. We also enjoyed the skiing lessons which are organized from the hotel together with the skiing school "Grilitsch " and its skiing instructors like Roman was. You can lend the whole skiing equipment to a moderate price without any efforts. Besides there is always enough ... snow in Obertauern. read more

The size of the room was very pleasant. We had a double room studio. The bathroom and the separate toilet were very clean, the size was also sufficient. Than shower served in our room a bathtub with a dividing wall. Here you feel the showers partly cramped, but it was adequate. The guest structure was well mixed. During our stay, there were british, österreichtr, german and also a few swiss guests in the hotel, from the ages were all age groups represented. Especially worth mentioning is the swimming pool, as well as the sauna, both areas were from the size ..., furnishings and cleanliness was very good. In the sauna area were constantly the used towels picked up and clean towels for the guests laid out. The bathrobe was arrival already in the room is required, the you during your stay can use. read more

    We had a double room studio. From the size, cleanliness and furnishings were very good. We had a room, still not renovated. Nevertheless we felt really good. Even if the decor 'nutzungsspuren' were visible, it was through the cleanliness and size, as well as the existing decor 'made up'. So no complaints.

    The slope was within a short walk away, a few steps the road down on the ski bridge 5 and already was the ' access' ski given. Right nearby the hotel is also an après ski location... Otherwise it was rather quiet, which we however as very pleasant found.
