A good hotel with perfect location located in the center of the city.
To Times Square quasi around the corner and to Rockefeller only few minutes on foot.
The rooms are clean and in the winter well heated. In addition large enough, even with two suitcases in the room apply to may. A hotel restaurant or breakfast buffet does not exist. Which isn't bad-a cheap diner is right next door, supermarkets and restaurants everywhere there is also nearby!
For people who New York know and love, not a problem have self catering and the city on own fist to explore! read more

Perfect for a city trip. The Time Square is 2 minutes away. It is everything you need closeby. The room is a bit small, but you could walk there anyway only for sleeping. After a long day, a comfortable bed important and the was definitely available. Absolute recommendation. read more

Great hotel in the heart of New York City. The rooms are although small but the city is not much time for sleeping. Within less minutes is the Times Square reached. The hotel has gotten a bit old but very clean. read more

The hotel st James is a small city hotel right at the Times Square. Therefore you can New York almost exclusively on foot look at. A rental car this is not necessary and recommendable. The room was really small in comparison to the hotels, the it in Kalifornien or Las Vegas returns. However one must always remember, that it is a city hotel. Every day it was cleaned and the bathroom was big enough. The staff at the reception was very nice. New York is great and offers so much, that one the hotel really only for staying the night ... should use. I would always book this hotel again, even if in things staircase and elevator but has gotten a bit old. read more

We were thrilled by the hotel, especially of the location. Central it is almost impossible, a lot of attractions are reachable on foot.
The hotel isn't really the newest, however everything is clean and quite maintained. Our room was a pleasant surprise, really spacious and quiet. The bathroom even had a window and was excellent. read more

Clean hotel conveniently location on the time square. Subway stations aren't too far away. The noise from the street were in the room delighted to hear, a 'city that never sleeps'. Apart from that a great starting point, to discover the town. We would book the hotel again, but no room to the street. read more

Old but very clean hotel in a great location. On foot in two minutes directly on the Times Square. We had a very large rooms (12 of 12 floors )
Plus: location, size of the room, cleanliness, TV in the room, free Wi-Fi in the room, hair dryer in the bathroom, window open, safe deposit boxes ( for a fee) in the lobby
Minus: no safe in the room, volume general, very old and partially in need of renovation, no bar or similar
Recommendation: Absolutely yes! read more

Great hotel in a central location. It is 2 minutes from the Time Square in a quiet side street. We had a room with a view on a inner courtyard respectively a kind Bay. This was but no matter, since one anyway the whole day on the way is. The peace and quiet was very important to us, as New York is very noisy and you hotels at main streets not really for sleeping comes. The hotel is clean and the staff at the frontdesk very friendly. The price for a night is for New York conditions of the best-very ... convenient! In the hotel there are no possibility to eat, however directly next to it are equal 2 possibilities - no matter wether breakfast or dinner - genuinely the knaller, delicious - we were every day there. On foot everything is worth seeing nearby or you can take the subway. I would if I in New York am always book this hotel again. read more

Small hotel with great location on the timesquare
One may not expect any large luxury, but for city breaks ok, you're anyway only for sleeping in the room
Largest plus is the location and price
You are in 2 minutes to the timesquare scarcely 10 minutes at the rockefellercenter or Grand Central Station read more

Location: 5-minute walk from Times Square, 5 minutes walk to the subway.
Loud air conditioning during the night not usable, there is but also such a constant, although low noise through the neighboring air-conditioning devices in the inner courtyard. The bed from slumber still okay, and the room was altogether very small.
Value for money maybe just for NY OK, but not more. Therefore no clear recommendation. read more

Location: the St. James is very centrally located in a side street directly on the Times Square.
Prior to: from JFK to reach with public transport. Bus ( www. NYCAirporter. COM right on the exit for about 15 $/ person) to the port authority bus stop, rest a few minutes on foot.
Food: right next to the hotel are two deli's, both around the hour open, everything available ( coffee, drinks, breakfast, lunch, dinner )
Rooms: functional, nothing special, but very clean
Booking: we had a very good offer early through Expedia (4 nights price for 3), NY hotels are ... generally very expensive read more

My second visit in the hotel St. James is again very pleasing fancy. The room (with 2 double beds) was larger than the last time it was even a suite fireplace and a flat screen TV on the wall. A small table and a chest of drawers offer space for storage. The room was clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable. The room had a courtyard view which wasn't disturbing is.
the boys at the front desk is just great and friendly. Gladly gave information (where you for example a Giants Jersey get) and were always ready for a ... small talk to.
the location of the hotel is class. Between sixth 7th Ave location+ about 50 meters away from Times Square. However, it is surprisingly quiet in the hotel in spite of the proximity to the TS.
food, Drink, shop, Subway is around the corner. But I would rather in hells kitchen than the TS ☺
I would recommend this hotel as the last time absolutely recommend! read more

We stayed for 5 nights in the hotel St. James that we the whole day were out and the room
only to sleep used have, it was OK. The room is rather small, exactly like the bed. The furnishing was
practical and the room clean. Exactly like the bathroom. Breakfast was no choice in the hotel offered, but that was not bad, because the hotel had a enough, where you could buy. The location of the hotel is ingenious. From the, 250 meters walk then you are direct in the middle of Times Square. In the other Direction 5 minutes ... on foot you m Rockefeller center. Subway-stations in all of the corners. read more

Also in theDecember2011 I went, as mentioned in previous years at Christmas time, to new York city after 2009 and 2010 and the hotel St. James this is now the third time. The detailed reviews of therooms507(December2009) and 211/206(December2010) are herealsoto be found.
the hotel isa little dated and probably belongs to the smaller in new York. It hastight150 rooms on 11 or 12 floors. I personally feel theatmosphere in the hotelas a littleinformal. Breakfastit is asin many hotelsin new York, howeveryou can sit right next doorfor examplein the 'cranberry cafe' 24 hours a day to buy something to eat. ...
Safety deposit boxes for valuables are unfortunately noin the roomstillat the front desk available. Theguestscome fromeverywhereon theworldand over the years, you will learn the veryfriendly staff at the front deskand there is a shortconversations-it's about 7a 8employee, the alternate Schichtrhythmus.
the Keyfrom the room-a real key and no chipcard-you have to leave the hotel at a little dated alwaysat the front deskand attributed it gets its name from the return being returned. The name referred to is equalized with already referred to by the guest at the computer.
in the hotelthere are twoolder, very slowelevators, on the one under cetain circumstances even once had to wait up to two minutes. However, because the hotel has a manageable number ofroomsand thereforeguestshas, was thewaiting timeneverreal problemfor me. Furthermore, there is asmalland quite narrowstaircase, which was also, if you get a room further down, the stairscan used. read more

The hotel is centrally located in Manhattan, so that at the Times square in five minutes, it is very clean, cleaned every day, including new towels for the bathroom. The only, which is a little annoying, the traffic noise is, you always hear, but to be honest you are in one of the largest cities in the world-What do you expect, given that the hotel is cheap and otherwise everything is perfect. The front desk staff is their ability to communicate in other languages, including complaints they reacted immediately and very understanding. We will certainly be back again-with great pleasure ... again in this hotel read more
