We were as a part of a package 2 weeks in this hotel. Despite all the previous positive reviews I would venture it, the thumbs down to press, for the following reasons:
The hotel lies in the north-east area of Ponta Delgada, directly at a large three-lane, at night as well lively busy roundabout. To the harbor respectively to the so-called old town it was 25- 30 minutes on foot. In immediate hotel proximity are two stops the so-called ' mini-buses' with good city center-access ( tact approximately 20 to 30 minutes, 35 cents per ride), but on weekdays ( ... Monday to Friday) only until 19:30 o'clock drive, and Saturdays/Sundays not at all.
The-to put it mildly-Bad variety at the breakfast buffet is our biggest point of criticism:
For fourteen days the same three slices, so-called Babywürstchen (lukewarm), always the g'gleiche sort of cheese slice, scrambled egg with bacon (oh well!), but for instance never cooked eggs or fried eggs; unpleasant regarded fresh fruits (with the exception of melons), Pineapple mostly from the can (, although it truly on your doorstep grows ) and so on the daily same cup-unit-yogurts only through the 100% artificial Geschmackstoffe. Coffee- and juice-Machines, 100% self-service. The staff were only with constant Clearing busy and took-in addition to the usual guests-Legwork to buffet -further unrest in the breakfast enterprise. All together only for about 3 days acceptable.
By far 4-star standard.
A similar unimaginative impression we won from the overpriced evening buffet, which we therefore only visited twice. Afterwards we rather walks to the harbor respectively a bit further to the center ( see above).
Near the hotel there are (with the purchase-center) a solid 'Chinese', we however not straight as island-typical would designate. A good azoreanisches restaurant is the 'Casa Marisca ', hike about 15 minutes, mostly locals as guests. At the port and in the old town there is a row gastronomic possibilities.
The four star hotel itself is OK and actually to be comfortable. Modern building with architecturally interesting hall. Our clean room was not spacious, however also not small, similarly the bathroom. The fridge ( mini bar) even for a 0,75 liter bottle of wine too small. Good Soundproofing -window ( important in view of the sea, because of the mentioned roundabout). Only German tv-channel is RTL, but only temporarily on consignment.
On the top, 8. Hotel-floor is a well-maintained, but while we were there hardly visited so-called ' grill -restaurant' (à la carte, nice view!). On the same level a undecorated rooftop 11 sun loungers and a mini -pool ( about 3 Times 5 meters). A constantly buzzing Aggregate.
Very attentive, friendly barkeeper. Absolutely acceptable bar -price.
The so-called spa area with fitness room is under foreign management and is subject to a charge. There is probably the other Travellers said indoor swimming pool. This area we cannot judge.
I would the hotel from the above reasons ( location, dining ) no second time book and it can therefore logically also not recommend. Zentrumsnäher respectively in the city centre there are alternative. read more

W-LAN is subject to a charge (on port in cafes free).

1 Week Azores - island São Miguel - Pont Delgada. 1 Week flight with Air Berlin - Hotel - breakfast - 530 Euro. !!!! Tip: booked at http: Wavering www. Reiselöwe. De/ there are 5 % discount on booking amount will be charged to the - after traveling the account - worked great - highly recommended!!!!!! The hotel is suitable as a starting point for exploring. Not suitable for a beach holiday. No beaches nearby. Traffic noise - right on a 3 -laned roundabout. If you want to sunbathe on the balcony was wrong here. The double glazing on windows ... insulate rooms noise from. The rooms are a bit small - 1 meters wide would have been better. Amenities are modern - bathroom clean and large. Cleaning and service is ok. The only complaint I have is the shower hose - for small Portuguese ok - for tall people too short, you need to look up the knee, which will enable TUBING is not houttuinen then veers -) The breakfast is ok - the meats and cheeses were in Warmhaltegefäßen which they took some getting used to. The breakfast room is a bit small for the amount of guests. The clearing and setting of the table was a bit slow. The hotel is best suited for exploring - for people looking for bathing. The rental cars are expensive - at least 47 Euro per day are usual. The price in cafes, bars, restaurants are very moderate. We were very pleasantly surprised - usually on islands but very expensive. Beer 1/2 liter of 1.50 Euro - coffee 0.60 -1.00 Euro - cakes 1.00 Euro - fish dish 10 - 20 Euro The rates on the island are our old DM-prices !!! Makes it even fun restaurants to visit here Gas 1.20 Euro per liter - Diesel 1,05 Euro. The island is like a parkland and fully developed. The Touristenanzahl on the island is manageable. Everything is very unique. If you're looking for peace and quiet on this island. party people are not in the right place here noble. Http: Wavering www. Azores-online. If a rental car is looking for don't book it through the hotel.Overpriced.
In Ponta Delgada (about 20 minutes) for example. Micauto at the port.
A bus drove past the front of the hotel (line B) from and to the city for 30 cents per person.
Whale watching is probably more a matter of luck. About 50 euro a few dolphins views in the end Everybody has to decide for themselves.
Breakfast was boring and was a bit annoying daily at a table to wait. read more

Business hotel with a central location on a straßenkreisel. Because the hotel offers a fantastic view of the Atlantic Ocean, even if you the windows because of the noise in the evening rather closes.
With the bus is the shopping center " Parque Atlantico " to reach, the varied shopping possibilities for every seven days a week.
Daily for the underground parking garage is with five acceptable in price €.
24 hour wireless Internet for ten €are also affordable.
We only used the breakfast for seven €, which rather sterile and monotonous, but it was.
The staff is very helpful ..., when it comes to excursions or similar. read more

The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from the old town Ponta Delgadas away in a rather uncomfortable part of the town. The hotel is modern and clean, during our stay but not very well visited. As a starting point for excursions through the island. Very good access to the area's road network. The breakfast was relatively rich, although the food if you Spätfrühstücker is not always "newly". We could for example. The then dried scrambled eggs not enjoy. All in all, you can not complain about value, could expect no Leistungsüberraschungen. read more

It is not a prefer these but very well suited for their own activities. The windows insulating the traffic noise. As the outside traffic fluent is, is the noise level andif not disturbing. On the weekend there is little traffic. A large shopping center with restaurants is just around the corner. In the center runs in the week cheap constantly a public bus. Very good cards (about 32 units) for walks are available at the tourist office. Also bus schedules are at your disposal. One receptionist also spoke German. The staff at the front desk are friendly helpful. read more
