The hotel is central and two day I slept well. But nevertheless I will never again a walking distance to this hotel planting. How were evacuated, because through the storm sandy, the construction crane threatened the sky. I all those terrible days has us the hotel abandoned and we were on our own. The hotel was neither reachable and gave us help, to our suitcase or passports to come. No thank you. read more

The hotel is in the 57. Street right next to Central Park. The main attractions ( exception in the south of course ) are reachable on foot. The hotel itself has gotten a bit old, especially the bath. Recommendable is the breakfast, which for 9 $per person drives is. For American standards one receives a good selection. Although we our room at the back of the hotel had, we were basically in the morning at 6 o'clock woke us up. Friends, the to the street out lived, were already 4 by construction on the other side of the road woke ... us up. Nevertheless the hotel I would for a Straßentripp definitely book it again, here however beneficial, a room in the back of the hotel to get. read more

Really reasonable value for money. Most sights from Manhattan are from the hotel from on foot easy to reach. A good pizzeria lies almost directly next to the hotel. Grocery stores also in the immediate area. Room requirement possible on site. Were on the top (17 floor) direction inner courtyard accommodated. Could night on the window leave open. To the street back? Breakfast in the hotel was sufficient. read more

I can this hotel because of its size of the rooms recommend it. We four girls had enough capacity. We had a living room, dining room ( and small kitchen), bathroom (the however a bit small) and a bedroom, as well as 2 small walk-in closets. There were 2 large TV! And in addition 3 mirror. Old fashioned are the rooms indeed, but the space was important. Moreover, currently renovated ( however no noise had ). The breakfast we only once taken into account. It costs (stood April 2012 ) however 9 dollars ( had in earlier reviews 6 dollars ... read). We didn't every day take advantage of, since it was a little expensive for 9 dollars ( opposite in the Starbucks there was a bagel with cream cheese for 2 dollars). But the breakfast buffet was good. There was a funny pancake-machine the within one minute a fresh Pancake power. The location is also perfect, a few minutes to to Times Square and next door are several restaurants. read more

The hotel enjoys great location. Only approximately 2 minutes on foot from the Central Park, the subway-station is also around the corner. The 5. avenue starts in the immediate vicinity. Almost everything Touristikatraktionen you can from the hotel fast start. The Times Square with the Broadway and the whole musical everything is within a few minutes walking distance. The hotel itself is very clean, the staff also very friendly. In the hotel will probably also a breakfast offered, but we didn't use these in surrounding environment also very nice Breakys locally are. A small tip: who also for a few ... days to Washington would, then I can 'Megabus. Com' recommend, faster, better and cheaper than by train. A very comfortable bus and very cheap. read more

we had to fourth a room. The room had two double beds, two closets, a TV, bathroom with toilet, shower and washbasin. The rooms are the furniture was rather old, but not worn. The bath is also not the newest, but it was not dirty. The bath has a hair dryer. tip of me: we had a hair dryer and iron from a smoothness Germany for everyone. The smoothness and the hair dryer not have both done; probably because of the watt number. I'm not sure. And important: travel plug for United States don't forget (for camera, cell phones- completely normal and without problems).

restaurants/ bars was not; it can only be purchased. the breakfast room is rather small, but there was never a problem with space. the breakfast I personally thought it was good. Every morning there was fresh fruit, fruit salad, muesli, Joghur, T waffles, Pancakes, rolls, Bagels, toast, croissants, sweet Bits, cheese, Cream cheese, marmelade, Butter, honey, juice, tea, coffee, water, eggs. (for men: sausage, scrambled egg, there was no bacon or similar). Nutella we used the supermarket bought for $4.45 (is slanted opposite). the breakfast costs per person $9; VAT. Inclusive! For children until five years it is free of charge. For American proportions really cheap and should in any case used to be. water for the night and we in the supermarket opposite bought. Is however extremely expensive in comparison to Germany.

the staff were very friendly and helpful. I don't know, how the foreign languages skills appears, but everyone can actually English and therefore also communicate well. cleaning of the rooms I am sorry to say, was rather bad. Although we gave tips every morning, was not good cleaned. In my opinion only the beds made and towels again properly on the suspension located. The bath was definitely not cleaned. complaints we didn't have any.

We have a 'driver' from the airport Newark Liberty to the hotel and have paid $69. Duration about 30 minutes from the hotel to airport we were picked up by a Lomousine; 85 dollar cost. Purchaseand entertainment there are plenty of opportunities. Hotel is located right in the middle of Times Square. Location is really great. fifth avenue is also just around the corner ☺ each course woman's heart race ☺ there is also the central park is just around the corner. Subway is literally directly in front of the door. opportunities for excursions in new York there is each quantity. I found the hop on hop off sightseeing tour great. We paid $50 for SA-Tuesday (10:30 A. M.). We negotiated a bit; in fact it is more expensive. Is worthwhile but totally. The bus takes you actually everywhere to (Times Square, central park, Harlem, Brooklyn, downtown, Chinatown, Soho night drive...). Is worthwhile so in any case. Furthermore, there is a ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Madame Tussauds, Empire State building, Macy's, top of the rock, plazza hotel, central park are all within on foot to reach. informed you simply at the conditions or in the hotel. opposite from the hotel there is a Starbucks ☺ food is extremely expensive. Next to the hotel there is an Italian restaurant. Is very delicious been, but also very expensive. Otherwise we ate only subway and Co.

We were already repeatedly in new York and have never had a such a big room! We were on the 17th floor, room number. 1708 and it was perfect! The furnishing probably a bit old but clean. Had 2 big room (a livingroom with sofa bed, a small kitchen with microwave and fridge, large TV... As well as a bedroom with 2 King beds, TV, built-in cupboard. Both rooms air-conditioned) and a massive bathroom with bath tub/ shower and 2 washbasin. You can watch the window open (also very rare in new York). It was a safe in the room (free of charge). The rooms were cleaned daily.

  • Gastronomy
    5.0

The hotel offers a continental breakfast on. Definitely avail, because it costs only 6 dollars per person (for new York proportions unbeatable!). It will be probably everything on paper and plastic plates served, however therefor everything very freshly and rich in buffet form ( fresh fruit, coffee, tea, toast, bagels, pastry, yoghurt, cheese, cereal...). So in any case a good and kostenkünstige alternative the surrounding breakfast possibilities!

The hotel is clean and well maintained. It has the typical new York charm. Our room was large, it was cleaned each day. The towels were changed daily. We had a pretty loud air conditioning, these have complained but not, because it us not has disturbed. Breakfast in the hotel we have not taken advantage of, it were enough opportunities in the area, ranging from Starbucks over Europe to Broadway diner cafe. The is good, but quite expensive, but it has the typical flair and dinner on small brass signs, which has sat celebrities have stayed there. Directly in front ... of the hotel is a wonderful and delicious pizzeria (Angelos pizza). To be highlighted is the great transport connections, the close proximity to the Central Park and the 5th ave. we would stay there again us. read more

The topic cheap food, if possible: tax approximately 9 % plus service (until 20 %, right on the bill is often look before beat it!!!! ) Will still to be. Beer 6-7 USD. (approx. 0,35 L) There are many restaurants cheaper lunch menu. The best for us Restaurant Row was between 8 and 9. 40 Avenue. up road. 4 hour walking tour of Southmanhatten (Meiers Weltreisen) is highly recommended, we immediately the day after the made when you arrive. You get a good overview, great background info and "learns" the underground train travel and buy ticket. As with the ... previous review is mentioned, city-pass, we had always worth Empire, top of the Rock and Circle. As soon as you arrive: best a metro ticket for 27 USD, really worth it also buy from 5 days. Currently single fare: 2.25 USD. (AirTrain one way for 5 USD) Do bargain when shopping possible, especially if you buy more, just try it! 1 pack of cigarettes from 10 USD. read more

We booked the hotel directly through holidaycheck. De for a very reasonable price. Has everything worked without a hitch. From the outside, the hotel made a rüstigen impression, sparkles inside but with good service. The rooms are a good size for the price, bedroom and living room were separated. Booked 2 king size beds, which was executed without a hitch. Breakfast is optional for $6 - per person and generally recommended. As usual the room was cleaned every day and was very clean. To our time to visit were in the hotel there were many French, Italian and a few ... Germans. read more

The rooms are spacious to large, living room and bedroom were separate in our. The room had a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, two flat screens, free safe, refrigerator and microwave. Definitely try to get a room facing the court yard. The 57th Street is also unbelievably loud at night. The reason for our room change. It's generally in the back alot quieter. When we were there but next door a building site, and during the week to 07:00 h: the construction started.

Optional is available at the hotel a breakfast for $6 . -/Person. The breakfast could have no hesitation in recommending. There are bagels in various sizes, toast, donuts, pastries, fruit salad, waffles, and, and, and. As always in the United States is the food on styrofoam plates took some getting used to. Diagonally across from the Manhattan Diner I would advise you not to go there. Although it is delicious, but inexorbiantly expensive (3 normal pancakes with syrup $11 -). A bit further up the road is a Starbucks right, as well as a supermarket, but also wasn't exactly cheap (careful: chilled drinks are more expensive than from the shelf). In any case, you should look in the following two shops times: 1 . Panini&Co. On the south-west end of the Zucotti park, near the construction Ground Zero. Ultra-great panninis, the worth every penny are 2 . Magnolia Bakery on 49th Street/6th Ave. At Rockefeller Center. There were sinfully delicious cupcakes waiting and similar sweets.

  • Service

The service in the hotel is very good, friendly and polite. A change of room after the first night was not a problem. We are also checked in by the front desk on our flight and printed boarding passes were for us. The rooms were cleaned every day, the tip for the room maid is mandatory and should not be forgotten.

The hotel is at the southern end of Central Park within walking distance (4 minutes) to the Columbus Circle. From here you can either for a relaxing walk in the park, but also start right to downtown. The easy access to the subway is optimal. Walk to Times Square you can easily walk to the south end of Manhattan, you should take the subway, a ticket is recommended. With the subway to the airport, including Airtrain, about 1.5 hours - definitely calculate. There is a source of uncertainty on Manhattan not because there was always strong police presence (normal police and tourist police were asking). You can also too after midnight the camera walk in the area.

Central Park is right around the corner, Times Square and Broadway theaters about 500 meters, subway line F on one and N, Q,R andeen on the side of the hotel. Bus-stop a block away. In the immediate vicinity delis, restaurants and Diners (provide all also upon request, in the hotel). If you turn left out of the hotel - it's a well stocked supermarket about 2 blocks within walking distance. Transfer on the journey there with Carmel from JFK about 1.5 hours - on check out about 1 hour with the F line (1 x change to the E) direction Jameica center and then take the Airtrain (Please note: Here is the unlimitted metro card not cost $5 per person. A very pleasant staff is happy to help with the operation of the machines) to its corresponding terminal.

With 4 people We had a bedroom with 2 double beds and a TV and a generous living area with TV. The room was clean, but luckily I cant see what bacteria are all in the carpet. The air conditioning was relatively old and noisy, but it worked. The bathroom was more or less according to the age - not to compare with German standards, but ok. Coffee maker with complimentary coffee etc. as well as refrigerator was available.

  • Gastronomy
    3.0

The hotel offers a breakfast room, but otherwise no restoration. The breakfast was, as most hotels in the Americas very spartan (cheese can only Philadelphia, sausage dar not) served in a room offered, the in weddings but a bit too small(waiting periods before the door).

  • Service

The staff is very friendly and helpful - about other languages apart from English I can't comment. The room cleaning was rather moderate - eg; we had to the Handwerkerdreck after the repair the toliet myself plate Such repair but amazingly quick after our complaint.

Distance to the city (5th Avenue, sunset ... ) Was about 1/2 hour walk or 2 metro stations. Distance to the Central Park about 20 minutes walk. The closest metro station was 5 minutes away from the hotel - from there then easy access to everywhere.

The Salisbury Hotel is an older city center hotel, but everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast, which only cost $6 for us, was also ok. We had a large room with 2 king size beds. Bathroom is rather small, but ok for 2 people., everything already a bit old. The shower was in the tub, but that is common for American hotels. We had a small kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Our room was on the 14th floor, at the rear of the hotel as we wanted to stay not facing the street. But also these rooms are not really quiet as alot of AC units are located in the courtyard, this you'll hear when the windows were closed!

  • Gastronomy

Breakfast was good by American standards. Bagels, croissants, toast, muffins, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, fruit salad, boiled eggs, jam. For us a perfectly adequate breakfast, for lovers of rather savory fare wouldn't be the place.

There were no problems by check-in, we even free a larger room with two king beds. The room cleaning was always carried out to our fullest satisfaction.

The location of the hotel is very good, you can walking distance to many area attractions. For example. Central Park, 5. AV, Rockenfeller center, Columbus Cirkel, Lincoln Center, Times Square. In ca. 300m away, to Broadway, there was a small supermarket, where you can get everything you need as a tourist. Also the Sabway is just a block away.
