Hotel Scandic Simonkenttä^{(4 stars)}

We had a standard double room on the 4. floor, the about 20 square meters plus bathroom had. Right from the entrance was the bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet, the left on the wall the wardrobe and closet, right next to it the mini bar In the room right were the two single beds, the a light 'tendency to middle' had, so minimal worn out, but not too hard or soft. The pillows and blankets were also very pleasant. , overall we have good sleep. On the wall opposite the bed, there was a desk with flatscreen tv, next to the bed the window was a table with 2 chairs. The furniture was right timeless dark wood and in very good condition, and there are only a few signs of wear. The window our room left, like in Finland unfortunately common, not open. The temperature in the room but over the air conditioning to regulate. A small panel at the window allowed at least something fresh air. Our room went to a central place out, but we heard no noise, either from outside, nor from the other guests. The bathroom was with 4 square meter rather small, but modern, the sink the left had a pleasant large vanity. Included in the price was the breakfast buffet, the at the weekend from 7:00 until 11:00 offered. In front of the breakfast buffet there was a area with seating, behind the buffet also. It was a pity that 35 minutes before the end of breakfast the croissants everybody was and were not any longer filled up. Also a selection of warm meals was available, here one had the choice between 4 and 7-minutes eggs, scrambled eggs, baked bacon, baked beans and some other things. To drink there were different coffee places, choco and tea, as well as juices, mineral water and milk. The buffet was beautifully decorated and designed, that it from both sides to enter it could, which was very convenient. It ran again and again staff around, the arriving guests friendly welcomed and the used plates regularly cleared.

At the check-in we were friendly greeted, i only had to the guest card complete and got the room cards. They told us the way to the room and from us information for breakfast, however, there was no porter service or similar. The check-out the next day ran fast and smoothly. We got to the luggage then free in a locked room store, while we the day in the town spent. The hotel is very central in Helsinki, about 5-minute walk away from train station. By bus you have every 20 minutes a good connection to the airport. In the immediate area there are numerous shops, bars and restaurants, the most important sights of Helsinki you can on foot very good.
