Hotel Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas^{(5 stars)}

Because we one night between them for a tour had checked out, we could 2 room inhabit. Both rooms were in the north wing, the first room was on the 2nd floor, the 2. then on the ground floor. Both were similar, quite large and had a balcony respectively terrace with garden view. There was a big king-size bed ( the gemütlichste the whole team as I think), seating area, tv, mini bar, kettle, safe, air conditioning and telephone. In the bathroom we had a jacuzzi, as shower functioned. Hair dryer there was also, as well as 2 washbasin. However made the bathroom already a slightly old-fashioned impression to us, partly. A little furred up, but otherwise clean.

In our reservation was breakfast included. Here you could get a large, rich buffet serve. Of fresh fruit, over pancakes, toast, sweet pastries to the solid English breakfast there was everything the heart desired. And it tasted also. Sometimes were however plates or cereal bowls not refilled quickly. You are always on a table, before say, whether one inside or sit outside and you get a table. One thing that is us however negative in the service noticed on the first morning we immediately water for tea get, on 2. morning came the demand, if we tea or coffee have approximately in the middle our breakfast and the tea then even forget and only brought, when we were already finished, at 3. morning we were not any more asked, what we gladly drink (strangely were the tables around us already asked)... We were altogether 4 nights in this hotel, but we in between one night checked out had a tour. The storage was not a problem at all, the bags we could in the room leave, they were then from the service picked up and stored. The staff were altogether very friendly. The large hotel offers tropical laid out gardens and a large pool area. The lobby is large, has several places to sit, a shop, internet corner. From here is also to, restaurant and in the morning to the breakfast room. The hotel complex is quite large, there is a north and one south wing, each two-story building, as well as several villas. Altogether the hotel makes and the entire area a good, clean impression.

The complex was located directly by the long sandy beach, this leads to port Douglas ( the hotel lies a little out of the way). There is also a shuttle bus, but the walk at the beach you should definitely make. By the complex recommends definitely a stroll, a lot of tropical plants there are to see. Port Douglas itself is quite manageable, offers lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Of here you can also snorkeling excursions to the great barrier reef to book.
