Hotel Baia Grande^{(4 stars)}

Large, spacious rooms, fixtures, flat screen tv, only a German program: RTL! Luckily for many english channels. Safe and minibar fee. Air conditioning and heating. Telephone. Coffee maker sadly none! Rooms clean, except for a few stains on the carpet. Very tastefully tiled bathroom. Bath/shower and bidet. Overall impression bathroom: clean. Balcony with two chairs and a table.

Two restaurants "mermaid" and "a la carte". The first is open for breakfast and dinner. The second one was closed the entire time. Quality and quantity of the food was very good (p. Hotel general). Different dishes typical for the country. Every evening there was a different theme: Italian, Mexican, candlelit dinners, etc. Drinks reasonably priced. Glass of red wine: € 2.50, water: 1,50 €, beer: 3 , - € by lots of glass and stone floors high noise level in the restaurant, especially if full either.

The female staff friendlier than the male. English is well spoken and understood almost all service staff. German skills were rather rare. The room and bathroom were always properly cleaned.

Large outdoor pool (we preferred to swim the Atlantic Ocean! ) With enough lounge chairs and umbrellas, and Sonnenpavillons. Very well-kept lawn area with flowering plants. At the pool bar and a small restaurant. Pool very clean with daily cleaning. The entire outdoor area was taken care of daily. heated indoor pool with a sauna, jacuzzi and massage services. Very tasteful and well-kept area medium size. 131 Double rooms, 12 suites rooms and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The hotel has the 4 stars. Breakfast: (gästespezifisch! ): Real English breakfast, but even for non-english people good choice at the buffet. Juices, fresh fruit. Cereals and dried fruit. Dinner ( "two sessions") buffet varied, with very many delicious laid appetizers and every evening, different fish, poultry, beef and pork dishes !.with always changing side dishes. Many German and English guests. Average age: 45 +

The hotel is a bit isolated surrounded by private villas and houses. Nice walks from the hotel on the cliff possible, paths through Grundstücksmauern partly built-up. Free shuttle bus to the beach (Praia da Galé) Two very nice beaches (Praia da Cölha and Praia de S. Rafael) about 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. A hotel kiosk and two small mini markets within walking distance. Larger supermarkets in Galé and Albufeira. Free hotel shuttle to Albufeira. For more shopping and for individual trips is a rental car was advisable. Hotelmietwagenpreise too expensive! Well worth it: excursion to the Südwestspitze (Cabo de Sao Vincente), in the towns Lagos, Silves, Loule (great market! ) and Tavira. Excursion to the hinterland to Monchique..

The rooms were sufficiently large and clean. As there was nothing to complain about. The balcony was a bit small and the air conditioning was a bit noisy.

As mentioned above the food was very good. This applies to the breakfast and also the dinner. The table was for a more gängies always really set menu. The rates for beer and water I found a little high though.

The service was quite good. But you have to speak English, not all of the front desk could even speak German. The rooms were clean. The staff were also helpful. I was looking for a car rental, which was not in my navigation available. With a plan but we managed to find the street.

Entertainment wasn't offered. An Internet access was available, but one had to go to the meal times, but you got as did not come up to scratch. The pool and the indoor swimming pool and sauna were all very clean.

The hotel is in good condition and the size of the rooms also okay. It was cleaned daily and towels changed on request. Production of proof room card which could also borrow free of charge. Very quiet location. A rental car, you should keep it, if you don't always only to the pool or to the beach. A bus drove twice in the morning to the beach. That was a little bit.

The rooms are a good size with a sitting area. We had a room with a view overlooking the sea and the pool. For the minibar you have to join the key at the reception. Unfortunately, there were only two German channels: ZDF and RTL. thank god we had also a heating, some nights you could very well needed.

The hotel has two restaurants, the a la carte restaurant was closed during our stay. When the hotel is full, would be the buffet restaurant was a bit too small. Every night there was a large hors d'oeuvres buffet available. Also there was always fish, meat, vegetables, pasta, and dessert buffet. Two times were theme buffets - Italian and Mexican. At the pool bar was only a little, but it is very expensive.

The staff was, as mentioned, very friendly. German but not very far. Some broken English you know. But they tried very hard. Each morning we watched the gardener, as the pool with a Wasserstaubsauger cleaned. Unfortunately, the weather was marbled, we did not use the pool.

After reading several bad reviews we were very surprised after arrival. The hotel's location is a bit out of Albufeira, but not in the middle of nowhere. The rooms were very clean, our maid was taking care of us every day towels, and blankets decorated. Breakfast was good, dinner varied and hot, also they always refilled. Staff very friendly, used plates, etc. Were immediately cleared. The average age of the guests was from 60 plus. 3 Nations populated the hotel - English, Dutch and German.

The beach was about 800 meters from the hotel. Alfbufeira - old town three times daily by the free shuttle bus route. The hotel is very near 3 small mini markets and two restaurants. Three excursions we booked in hotel. Historical Algarve, Lisbon and market in Loule. Bus collected us always directly from the hotel so no problems.

With pool view you can handle it. Size, furnishing is able to acquire significant enough and was far from a 4 star. Practically non existent! The girls at the front desk are very nice and helpful, the rest. They all walked with such a facial expression as you panful would. Foreign language skills Embryonic form. The location is a disaster! The beach is "only" 300/400m away, but the dogs, "unbegehbaren" way and let the way forever dubious streets and intimidating. For families and women a nightmare! Albufeira is according to the Hotel description nearby. Clear and with a car or using the three times a day verkehrendem shuttle service. But what if you don't rent a car (expensive! ) and didn't have to pay a taxi (Dito)? Although the airport is 50 km away, but no reason to cheer, airplane noise problem because all day and still. One could go shopping in a entfernterem Minikiosk. Tafel milka chocolate costs 2.70 EUR, the picture cost 1 EUR, any questions? Entertainment? The hotel's entertainment such as If you can not serious. Excursion possibilities were in Portugal many, but unfortunately not the hotel Baia Grande. Our room was a good size, not too small but also not too large. The facilities were adequate for a hotel room. We even had a flatscreen TV which was quite impressive. Minibar, like always expensive Coke 2.75 €. Safe in the room for 2 € per day. The keys to the bar and the safe are available from the front desk. We enjoyed the bar always for our bought drinks, we always backup from the bar before the room had been cleaned; (o) The balcony with sea views and several cobwebs Gartenmöblierung. The bathroom is a good size with hair dryer and magnifying mirror. From the maids soap and shampoo. The only complaint in the bathroom was the flowing flushed, was very disturbing. Everything looks new and it was always clean.

The breakfast buffet repeated every 2 days. The breakfast is rather English set up. (Sausages, bacon, beans in tomato sauce, pancakes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cereals, fruit salad, juice machine etc. ) at the food I could say that it was only slightly spiced, that are easy to get to from the Portuguese salt which very little salty taste. The rates are a bit overpriced and the buffet dinner 19.50 € without drinks per person per night. Alcoholic drinks at the pool bar cost about 7,50 € there are two times a day happy hour. The food and not to our liking. Every Thursday a barbeque took place at the pool. Cost of half board incl. otherwise €20 . Hotel staff is nice and friendly. There were an incident, after I was disappointed with the-oriented service seemed unknown to most of the employees, but that is happened to us and is certainly not the rule. There were many languages spoken German, but no one spoke to us. Lots of hotel is also translated into German. The room cleaning worked perfectly. The housekeeping staff is very nice and always greet you with a friendly Ola (Hi). Sport and activities at the pool in vain. It is offered nothing. The Internet access is also overpriced for about 15 minutes one paid €1.50 . The resort is very nicely decorated. Small details give the hotel a special flair, such as the undulating ceiling in the corridor, or the elegant toilets in the reception area etc. It is always clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was in the form of a buffet, there was also the possibility of breakfast in the room, costs correspondingly longer (must be notified before 5 am) There is an a la carte restaurant and a buffet restaurant. In the reception area, the piano bar where during the week always someone occurs, unfortunately the same every week. In the first week there were mostly English guests in the hotel and it was really crowded. In the second week came already an increasingly Italians and Germans and there weren't as many guests in the hotel. From the nationalities and age of the guests I would say a bit of everything.

I have to admit on the first day I was shocked by the location of the hotel, but that's the way it was completely and cliffs. In about 100 meters away is the first restaurant and in about 200 meters distance you could find two Minisupermarket and a restaurant THU Diniz ** . The restaurants were very expensive under 12 € you will not find main course. After that time long time nothing. toward Galè (coarse plan at the reception, which is important: Please in larger thinking) the Scobby bar. This is cheap and has its own flair. The service was super nice and the dishes were delicious. Service: Free pool (warmer than the hotel), more than enough beach chairs, complimentary wireless Internet access, and a small mini-golf course - it is called Krazy golf and the is true you crazy.; (o) further you toward Galè (1km) is the cheaper, the restaurants. It is hard to find souvenirs. It's about 13 minutes to Albuferia with the hotel's shuttle bus. On the way to the beach in Albufeira lined with the restaurants and gift shops. In the region and Galè sesmarias there is only cliffs and a few beaches. There are 3 beaches to Galè by road.
