The bathroom was hard to use, because it after sewer smell. Complaints with the instruction dismissed, that the building over three hundred years old is.
If you are looking for the really überragendemn restaurantgenuss of the star chef Christoph schmah in room returns and sewage smells, because you forgot the bathroom door when leaving the hotel room to close, you really sad; the this excellent sternkoch not deserved.
On the day of departure whilst checking out an out of the question, arrogant -cheeky behavior/ behavior the chef/owner on the claim of points of criticism, because of, amongst others, bad bill. read more

We were for four days there over christmas. Had two double rooms and a single room. Christmas 2003 we were already there once. It is really nice. The food is first class. After eating you could bar or visit. This is also very clean. The staff is always friendly.
The rooms are very clean. The breakfast could be a bit better. Here was missing the selection of sausage and cheese. Quality was everything okay.
We are definitely coming again.

We had a 3-day arrangement between the years. We were very shocked, when we saw,
In the field the front desk and a cozy sitting area (lounge bar) besides strong was smoking (and during our entire stay).
On my question, whether it be a possibility a drink before opening of the gourmet (18:00) in a smoke-free environment to me to take, i was informed, that there would not be these. On my request, whether non-smoking in this house pitch had, was the answer: in this case!
Conclusion: non-smoking should be this hotel avoid.

The gormetrestaurant is nevertheless very ... good. Mr schmah is a höchsttalentierter chef and his wife a very charming host. read more

We had a interesting stay in an unusual hotel.
The guest structure is rather older from 55 years and older, the restaurant ( Gourmets) we didn't try it, as it for our purse plain and simple too expensive was. Is however not a problem, numerous pub in the immediate area.
However I am of the opinion, that the state of the hotel partly not the requirement.
Some is already getting a bit old. However I believe, that the schlosshotel especially value on an antique touch sets.
The bathing area should however urgently renovated, there was a funky kanalgeruch during the ... bathing, so that the swimming passed.
Apart from that I found and my company the breakfast very good and varied with extremely friendly service.
The hotel's location is great, great view and very central.
We slept very well, the bed has convinced us.
A parking garage isn't available, but enough parking spaces in the outdoor area.
As I booked for a good price had, I found the hotel reasonable and would book there again. read more

The Four Poster bed room 203 is distinguished by elaborate lighting in the room and also in the bathroom. Poster with lit stars-really great! The bathroom very nice with a toilet, shower and bath tub. Tiltable side parts the Badezimmerspiegels, enough land to the file. The hotel is with attention to detail furnished, wonderful location on the hill great view. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired ( tip: the goat cheese from the region). All together a hotel, the 'felt' an asterisk more would have earned. read more

Romantic new year on the Dauner Castle

We have been here now four times in the summer in the castle hotel and wanted actually this year, in the winter and snow magic Daun meet. Unfortunately the snow didn't work, but that does not mean, that we had to do something. We had booked the new year's Eve package of 30 December 2011-02 January 2012. Included were three nights in a heaven bed and breakfast room from wide Eifler the breakfast buffet. On the first evening there was a four course menu, a new year's Eve gala dinner with six courses and live music and dancing in the ... volcano. The new year has been sponsored jointly with the whole staff of the hotel, which by Mrs tried in-person was presented, welcomes. We found that especially nice, as you could also the kitchen crew, which since October 2011 under a new chef conjured. We arrived immediate before new year fireworks in a palate and tongue. Furthermore, with the team could be changed as a few nice words. In addition there was champagne and a colorful fireworks. In the port was powerful and there were many delicious things after midnight. In the new year, we were treated to a four course fish menu, which the other orders of courses did not taste. One star for the kitchen seems to us within our grasp! So if you really appreciate good food, this is more than good. This antiques are included in the whole hotel and the guest will be pampered by friendly and competent staff. A 'Bauhaus style' -fan is here wrong. If we also rather to the younger guests included, so for us this year very very good. Thank you, to the whole team! Maybe we'll see us again August?! read more

We had booked a package deal with extension night and were very satisfied with it. There were two dinner with 3-course menu and a dinner with seven courses. The chef is excellent and has earned its award. All special requests were also taken into account.
The breakfast buffet is excellent, you get to order omelets served.
The only downside: in the lobby may be smoked and the smoke attracts partly in the restaurant, since the door is always open.
Otherwise, we can recommend this family-run castle hotel. There are non-smoking rooms and a small spa area features a sauna and ... a steam bath, a pool (about 15m) and, in addition, the hotel is a massage service connected.
Perfect for a romantic weekend away, we'll be back! read more

A castle hotel with 28 rooms on top of a dormant volcano with great views over the town of Daun and the Eiffel hills. Reception areas and rooms are very clean and comfortable. We stayed half board for 5 days and have done so twice a year for the past 9 years - we love it!
Guests are mainly couples but you can expect families and the occasional business conference. read more

We could relax very well and the hospitality is really very good, you feel welcome, the restaurant has a lot of charm as also the hotel.
And the chef a very large compliment, you eat still better as the proverb say 'food and drink as god in France' , we shall still back to crash on a number of occasions. read more

My wife and I had booked a package. We were made to feel welcome and by the director to our room personally managed. Our room ( a Skybed) was very large, more a junior suite and impeccably clean. The service in the hotel and the restaurant was excellent. We were anticipated your every wish. The menu was great. We should have stayed for October. read more

The hotel stunned as soon as: antique furniture, memorabilia, rich ambience. Very nice reception by the manager. We had 1 double and 1 single room (single room was small, but perfectly adequate), but the rooms next to each other plants. Double room was large and divided into two sections.
We only had breakfast in the hotel (very delicious and diverse), as it is in the vicinity numerous delicious restaurants.
The applications were limited to match, so that we had enough common time. The staff was very competent and friendly and flexible.
The wellness area is small, but everything was there. ... Outdoor lawn, pool, sauna, quiet room with tea (water kettle).
TRIPS we made only to the Mahren (Vulkanseen) and a nearby park (very recommendable with or without children!).
The only drawback was, that our room window (although far above) with a bar at night and we could hear the guests at Heimtorkeln. But with closed window it went well.
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. read more

As a couple we had two nights with breakfast in a Skybed. The hotel itself is clean, but a bit winding. Annoying is the outdated carpet, also in the hall. The staff were all nice and friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and the flair of the hotel. The sauna / wellness area is clean and nicely decorated. The swimming pool is a bit small but functional. The varied breakfast is served in buffet style. There was always enough of everything there. The staff auchten as Terriblly. The spa gardens, the Maare downtown and all of the spots are within ... walking distance. Overall we felt very welcome and three romntische nights. read more

The Kurfurst has everything for todayÂ's bustle savoir faire savoir vivre, and great location with beautiful panoramic view, equipped with antiques in the room in the dining room throughout and the with great attention to detail, the staff bring Petra Probst was in a class of its own competent in all areas, in the kitchen there is a chef behind the stove which brings the plates is world class. The hotel is not nearly as romantic as describe. Special requests ( only small) was not followed. The room was tiny, also fuktionierte heating and shower. complaint was dismissed as Einbildugn ( boss very rude) food was cold and Geschmackslos. After this complaint were we did not being attended - annoying guests won't be staying there again. read more

On our arrival we were welcomed in a very friendly and competent. We had a beautiful, spacious room with a four poster bed and a great view of Daun. We had booked an arrangement with two dinners. The service was excellent. The service in the restaurant was two nights very friendly and professional.
Overall the kurfürstliches Amtshaus Daun has left a very good impression on us. The entire place looks very harmoniously in its decor. We will definitely be back. read more

The hotel is located in a very quiet area, but still very Central. You will feel at home here. We were there twice. Even in winter, as it was a bit cold and drafty. The service was great and very attentive. Highly recommended. read more
