Our first vacation on Gran Canaria. Not more very new hotel Rey Carlos us not disappointed. With its outdated decor has a certain charm: no plastic furniture ;, but still real wood furniture! The food was good, however not always varied enough, especially for breakfast. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Our verdict : very recommendable. read more

It was a very nice and relaxing vacation. There are many complainers, but if you are looking for, you will find something. We were the last years always in a star hotel and had nevertheless no losses. The food was very tasty and also diverse, some complain about, that it for example only 3 types of marmelade -who has at home more choice? Remember, that it only stars are! It is very many holidaymakers there, the for many years come back and in september we are going back - we are already looking forward to it. read more

Was a great beginning with this Gran Canaria holiday! We had us from three stars hotel in Playa del Ingles not so positive surprise expected. The Hotel Rey Carlos is very centrally located and now these castilian style, the you in spanish mainland hotels often and sometimes old fashioned feel. For those who prefer new chromstangen has, is here not correctly, but who originality estimates a nice alternative. The buffet we found both very good. We are both well traveled, many 3 and 4 star hotels and sometimes also 5 stars hotels attend and my, that the buffet here is ... very underrated. We were lucky, once the canarian buffet (only 1 times per week) presented and felt very on the lots of fish and meat dishes looking forward to it. Also the desserts were great. I can imagine, that many germans tourists, one or another german specialty miss, but that is the appeal on holiday abroad: new to see, taste and smell! - we like!-) read more

Food worse, there were not even gray or brown bread. Einrichtzung is old and worn out. After 8 times probably not stay here again. read more

Honestly. Old box the already long renovated belongs. Dark, old furniture. Am definitely not spoiled, one verhungert not but the buffet could be more variety and more quality at the meals. The big advantage about the hotel. It is very centrally situated and what surprised me. It was very quiet at night. So if you don't large importance on comfort and food but rather short paths to kaspa and Jumbo-center, the stay here. Shops, rental car and bus connections in the immediate area. Free hotel bus to Maspalomas. Wi-fi-port for 7 days 20 Euro. After star i would 2.5 ... soutenant. Recommendation conditionally. read more

The 3-star suite hotel 'Rey Carlos' features 160 apartments in a long-lit building, which 5 floors has. The hotel has 4 elevators and is handicapped accessible. Unfortunately the 2 hauptfahrstühle at the front desk because of construction (of october 2012 until april 2013) decommissioned. A ramp at the main stairs to the hotel from the entrance the street from facilitates the clairaudient or access for disabled guests. The hotel is especially for the older people and has lots of regular guests. There was a generation change in the director level with some (small) changes. read more

    The apartment with view from the balcony to the street over the garden and pool area consists of living room with a tv and telephone, the kitchenette with a fridge and coffee maker (hatch to the living room), and the big balcony with wäscheleine. The bedroom is in the back area with 2 separate beds, as well as ceiling fan and built-in wardrobes, and air conditioning and a safe. The bathroom is located between the two rooms. Tub/shower, and all the necessary facilities for disabled guests are available, in addition, hair dryer. The furnishing is different. Many suites have property-owners, the renovated and lounges the tour operators available bodies. The basic hardware is in kastillianischen style with heavy, dark carved wooden furniture and metalleuchten reproductions.     The staff is friendly - because of the lots of regular guests the atmosphere is very easy going. It is speak german and understood. Room cleaning was done every day and was clean and tidy. Towel change : every 2 days Bed linen : every 3 days Laundry on request at a charge possible. Pharmacy in the immediate area. There are many medical offices and clinics in the place. Tel. Request, front desk to having possible. Complaints or problems at desk make you hard for immediate help.

    The airport is approximately 30 minutes out. The distribution of the hotels varies depending on the tour operator and the journey takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour. The hotel is on one of the main streets in Avenida tirajana in the lower city center close to the beach and the dunes and by the large garden and pool area before the traffic relatively protected. The advantage is the convenient location and direct ways to all facilities of the city, which one well reachable on foot can. Shopping possibilities: across the street of the hotel there is a large self-service system, as well as numerous smaller shops, about 200 meters away is the shopping center 'Cita', as well as approximately 800 meters the shopping center 'Yumbo' in the immediate area. From the hotel several times daily free shuttle bus to the beach in Maspalomas or main beach Playa del Ingles. Excursion possibilities through the travel agents bookable - but also individually with the buses possible. All places the island are easy to reach. There are only buses on the island - no trains. Taxi prices cheaper than Germany and plentiful. Car hire possible.

The cleanliness of the rooms and friendliness of the hotel staff was perfect. As well as every year before. You meet many well-known in this hotel. However this year we were on the food variety shocked. The dishes evenings were overcooked, partly cold, the offer was repeated almost daily. For breakfast you found blue started sausage and hochgewellter cheese and behaarte tomatoes. Also us scrambled egg from eiersatzstoff sick. After a hearing with the director of the hotel noticed, with about 18 persons, they promised us recovery. The followed unfortunately not! In the 4. week followed by a further conversation ... with the director. As an answer we received' what we probably surmise, in Marocco would the children there, if this food could. '! We still required and will be this hotel never again entering. That one with a 3 star hotel not a luxury standard can clear to us, but a fresh and appetising food variety should be of course. read more

Hotel makes from the outside a very good impression. Nice atmosphere and the pool area is also very clean, unfortunately, it is right on the main street located. Suites with kitchenette, large living room, also the main road is, large balcony, good facilities. Bedroom terrible! A small hatch to open, but on the hotel course-we lived right at the elevator. Luckily was elevator because of renovations closed-therefore craftsmen with punchers! Right in front of the hatch! Zero service! Food more than moderate. No variety. Carelessly.     Big room. Bathroom and bedroom without lüftungsmöglichkeiten. Sxchlafzimmer only luke to the hallway. Ausstattung ok. Cleanliness was totally okay. Towels are all 2 days changed. Fridge in the room. Kitchen utensils are limited too. In general the hotel is surely with the regular customers much likes, but it was dark. No daylight in the dining room, no daylight in the leseecken, dark in the bathroom and very dark in the bedroom. The many coats of armour, issued are, dedicated, we called our bedroom 'dungeon'. Food in the outdoor area is not allowed, was on holiday i said. The dark area is depressing. If you stay here the winter want to get away from it all, it is not easy.     Very good location. Shops in the immediate vicinity. Beach and dunes in about 5-10 minutes on foot distance. Bus stops directly in front of the hotel. Parking a side street away. We had a rental car. Nightlife Playa del Ingles in walking distance, respectively in the immediate area. The guest structure was about 70% retirees/retirees.

If you the hotel rather for sleeping, wash, breakfast and otherwise vacation at the beach, in the bars and clubs etc. Spends it is exceptional. Shops are all in the immediate area, also varied possibilities food to go, the distance to the beach, exactly like the to the center nightlife, everything is on foot to settle (maximum 1 kilometer ), apart from that there are hotel buses (free of ... charge ), as well as buses to the objectives in the area. The hygiene is okay, the daily change of towels, the bed linen also by request, the staff are friendly, also English and German and worries fast in case of any problems. The buffet is rather nothing for spoiled or especially sophisticated, but you'll be full, there was also much fresh fruits & vegetables I would in my way of the vacation book this hotel again, the value for money is quite reasonable! read more

This overlooked already times. Drink prices seem not to stand, often other prices in the same order. Breakfast: lukewarm coffee or dte water from the automat. Every morning the same selection of simple quality. Bread or bread rolls almost not edible. No change in the konfitürenauswahl, 3 sorts! Dinner: almost the same every day, mostly lukewarm offer. Food almost no seasoning. From lower großkantinenqualität. Average age of ... the guests: the future Germany you can in this hotel already today. Mostly elderly seniors, no children and almost no guests under the age of 40. Was a week in this hotel, wise i would have a 2 not work. read more

The beverages for breakfast are not enjoyable, as completely too sweet. All drinks came from machines and were too sweet. The selection at the buffet is well arranged and partly very artificial. Fruit there is only in the evening. Restaurant was very dark and cramped. The hot tub is terrible chlorinated, so after a short time strong headache get. Beautiful large room. In the restaurant also evenings self-service! The beer we tapped yourself. The waiters are friendly, but one sees only with clearing away of dishes busy. Front desk: we wanted on the last evening a taxi to the airport order. It took us four attempts, because the supposedly only the night porter could. The hotel is really getting very old and was in need of a complete updating. The equipment in the rooms for a three-star hotel very bad. The particle board as a replacement for a slatted frame underlines the whole. For the food the taste, as we know, far apart, we can only say 'you are full'. The coffee and juices for breakfast did not taste, only instantkaffee and mushy rolls make is full. Some guests are only the baker and since fresh rolls for breakfast in/out privileges. This was the worst hotel the we have ever seen. The pool we ... cannot assess it, as we every day at the beach were. However in the morning we could from the balcony observe that these eingebrannte manner some older guests the loungers with its towels to occupied still is the rule. The staff should the towels into the water throw. On the final day we could the luggages and had the possibility after the beach for showering. We had after the stay at this hotel not expected. read more

The electricity installation is not up-to-date anymore. Sometimes with a extraschlüssel with the move the electrics be enabled. Because of the small foreign language knowledges in at the front desk we had difficulty. Statement: 'the key turn and the insurance make'.
