The rooms in the main building have been recently renovated and are therefore in top condition. The location, directly at the coast is unique and the person is very friendly and helps in each situation gladly further. Is excellent also the restaurant - not very cheap, but that was it well worth it. read more

Nice but rather overpriced for what you get

Tofino is a great place to go to. The setting (wild beaches, rough ocean) is just gorgeous - no matter what weather you will encounter - and the wildlife you get to see is exceptional (bears, whales), so this should not be missed. However, after having stayed a couple of nights at the Wickaninnish Inn, I can only confirm the mixed and average reviews by others, and this was the only lodge that let us down during our trip. This is definately not the best hotel in area. Instead, the Long Beach Lodge (in which we stayed last year - ... go for an ocean room) is much much better and will satisfy fully the luxury orientated traveller. It is not that the Wickaninnish Inn is bad, not at all, but they just can not live up to their reputation and the exuberant high prices. Why I did not like it ? - the building is not attractive from the outside. Although this is not a real problem, first impression was not overwhelmingly positive - the building is not really attractive from the inside either. I just cannot help it but it felt almost like an avarage hotel or youth hostel. I do not get it why they don't try to update the very dated decor - the rooms have quite a nice view and are large as well, but in my opinion, they felt cheaply decorated, almost as if the firniture was delivered from Ikea. - the bed was the hardest bed I have ever slept in in a luxury hotel, and the sheets were even harder. Uncomprehensible. - the rate of the room - more than 500 CAN $ in heigh season excluding taxes and breakfast - is not justified at all To compare Long Beach Lodge is architecturally more stunning, feels more luxurious, has very comfty beds, and also its setting on Cox Beach is at least as spectucular as the Wickaninnish Inn. Moreover, the rates of the rooms in Long Beach Lodge are much lower (still high, but the price there is justified) I would recommend the following to the owners of the Wickannish Inn your resort is in a special place, so try to make it special again as it is not the case anymore - update the interior of the common areas & rooms (especially in the Pointe Building). Make the rooms feel more luxurious by replacing the old and cheap furniture. Get rid of the old televisions as they seem to come from the early 90s. And above all, replace the beds and the sheets as the current ones are not compatible with a hotel that aims to be luxurious. - the addition of a large hottube would substantially increase the attractiveness of your resort (as many mediocre resorts nearby have one) - The Pointe restaurant impressed my by the quality of the food served and the stunning, stunning view. However, the interior feels dated as well and is in need of some updating as well in order to maintain the culinary justified reputation of your restaurant - as long as the rooms in the Inn are not updated, I think you should drop your prices by at least 30%, possibly 50%. This would more or less be reasonable, and avoid any further criticism - room rates should include breakfast (as is the case in for example the Long Beach Lodge) Do the above, and your resort will shine again and become once again the top resort of the region. In attendance, I would recommend everybody the Long Beach Lodge as this resort will guarantee you the memory of a lifetime. read more

Gorgeously located hotel on the beach. We had a room in the Pointe building on the second floor with a great view of the ocean. The rooms are with a opened fireplace equipped, with CD and DVD player and a selection of books and CDs. The design of the bathroom we were really impressed-double bath with a view of the sea from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The beach is wonderful, but we had at the end of July a very nice weather, so that we here only once walked. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our whale watching tours and ... bear with your help. The wellness area we didn't used. Unfortunately, there is no pool, which we as the only drawback to the hotel we noticed. In the restaurant we ate only once, otherwise we are always in the places to eat or ucluelet tofino. All in all a great hotel, but very pricey. read more

The hotel has a good size, the rooms are very clean and well-sized, with an open fireplace and a balcony overlooking the sea. We had a jacuzzi in the bathroom a large window, you could see from the bathtub on the cliffs. read more

Size and furnishing of the rooms was very good. The only downside is that the view over the sea and the cliffs was strongly limited on the ground floor. There is also not in all rooms a jacuzzi in the bathroom.

  • Service

The service was very good, there weren't missing at the little things. At the front desk are two German so could speak German. As it seems to be so exceptionally warm, that one for 5 days in a row nice and warm, the hotel was not tuned to it. D. H. there were only 5 lounge chairs and a few beach towels. We had to our white towels on the beach.

  • Sport & Entertainment
    4.0

On the beach there was a volleyball net. You could rent bikes. There is no indoor swimming pool available as well as no outdoor swimming pool. We really missed. In the neighboring building is a gym, small but adequate. The spa area was very beautiful, but the treatments overpriced.

The hotel is right on the wildromantischen beach. You can fantastic sunsets. When we arrived in August, was very much fog and the staff speaking instead from August from Fogust. No one told us that the August is very foggy and often only one hour a day the sun came out. We had (and we'll always by locals was confirmed) a very lucky because the 5 days we were there, was beautiful weather. The small, sweet town Tofino is 5 minutes by car.

This hotel is just great. It is located just before Tofino absolutely quiet, surrounded by forest, right on the beach. We stayed at the beach-building. The rooms are very large and the bedroom window is 40 -. You can Chesterman from the bed on the beach and the Pacific Ocean. The bathroom is perfect: large, with two sinks, glass-enclosed shower, in the window large whirlpool bathtub with a dream view to the beach. Excellent restaurant "The Pointe" on a promontory overlooking located, also with dream view. Reservations at night. The breakfast was great, too. The hotel is quite perfect for ... honeymooners, long, likes solitary walks on the beach, to unwind, just really romantic. Tip: Shelter restaurant, turn left at the entrance to Tofino. Cheaper than in the hotel, but also very high quality. read more
