Who still complains here (perhaps the furniture signs of wear), finds also something to complain about. For excursions be sure to Harald (at the hotel-beach)- pinnawela (elephants) and wilpattu (national park, before dolphin and whale watching ) are very recommendable, also with children. The pool is the upper hammer, our room (111) is absolutely peacefully located, all in all, it is also very pleasant quiet. It must no chairs are reserved, with the meal one gets immediately a table. Really friendly staff, no bugs. Very family-friendly hotel. read more

Hotel and service overall very good. However, because of the many european children in the hotel more kindgerechtes food, that means less spicy sauces, pasta and fries on the table must come. The only thing, that in fact didn't bother us, is the krähenplage on the hotel %blank%. The crow made from dawn 1st a huge noise on the complex, 2. scared you not afraid, of plates food to steal and 3. the local birds replaced, by making their nests loot. Have reception approached and got the answer, as the buddhists no kill animals. We were very disappointed, one hears often the hotel tired, we can but not confirm. It is simply only dirty. Everywhere in the hallways are old furniture and dirty moldy mattresses and the not only 1-2 days. In the storage facilities the cover is green mold, in the roof huge holes and it rains in. In the disco the cover is poorly repaired and is already again down. The bed linen is stained. The mountings in the bathroom were broken. In the room is vermin. In the bungalows each evening dagegesprueht. In the rooms. There were guests 2. category? In ... the bar runs the service economized, for days not Cola, Fanta. On demand the manager Daniel it says: look after for holiday check to, there is everything. The people here give their best. But only the employees. This hotel has in our opinion not deserved it so highly regarded. We will definitely never again the club dolphin drive. read more

We are from the Hotel Dolphin club, as well as of the country and people very positively surprised. Sri Lanka is a great shame, just at the beach to lie; there is lots to discover (tour to kandy, 2-day excursion in the yale national park). When booking the tours: but you have to compare prices; the much mentioned 'Harald' is definitely not cheaper than the hotelanbieter. We were with two offered very satisfied. The hotel is somewhat off the beaten track - for guests, the evening want to experience something, not very suitable. But for those seeking peace with interest ... for the country and people very ideal. We stayed in the renovated gartenbungalow number 66, which was very spacious and decorated up to date -great. The food was very diverse and you never had the feeling of a 'ai.' Tourists-great. Also the drinks were delicious:-) There is a pool for families and children and what we especially appreciated-a quiescent pool in a very relaxed atmosphere. There was also enough sunbeds and places in the shade. read more

The hotel has approximately 100 double rooms and about 50 bungalows. We had a so-called superior room with a view of the sea. The rooms are big enough and all feature an airco. The bathrooms didn't correspond to the standard, which one from such a plant is used. This was also the reason, why we after the first day got an other room have. The first bathroom was clean, but there were several places mold. After the exchange the room we had a so-called renovated room received. Here, there was no mold more, but also meet the bathroom not the ... standard of a 4 star hotels. Of the hotel management we heard, that the hotel from may until november 2013 everything superior room renovate wants. The bungalows are already progressed renovated and remain in the time also continue to be open and available. Otherwise the hotel has a pleasent complex. Active pool is with its size and layout was great. Otherwise there were all the necessary things in the hotel. The general condition of the older facility (according to the information of staff there is the hotel already over 30 years) is very clean. All the rooms and the grounds are equipped with wireless internet, which at the most in case of bad weather time side. We stayed over the easter holidays in the hotel.     The food in the hotel is our opinion it was very good. There are a total of 3 restaurants, a main restaurant, a pool restaurant and an upscale restaurant, but not to the normal all-inclusive is. From time to time also a so-called fish market by the pool set up, where you at a charge king prawn and Hummer could let be prepared. We stayed for a meal for two people with delicious king prawns and supplement to about 13 €paid. By the pool in the midday small pieces of pizza on the 'children' distributed.     A large advantage of Sri Lanka is, that almost everyone speaks english. All children must to 10. nurjahan sinhalese, tamil and learn english. So if you a little english, you could also everywhere with the inhabitants or employees of the hotel well maintained. The people from the hotel are mostly very friendly. Some we had a really good contact set up. Therefore we could also a lot of them and how they live experience. Some people like Johan in the restaurant or the top chef zeusa speak also very well german. The room was cleaned thoroughly and in case of any problems we were always immediately and very competently helped. Appreciatory, i have to say. So we on the first evening our stay were asked, whether we were happy with everything. Our request for a different room was the next morning directly met.

    There were two pools; a active pool and a quiescent pool. We were only on the active pool. The is its proportions really huge and in its distribution well designed.     The distance to the airport is a little more than half an hour. We had FTI booked. On arrival we were greeted by a staff of FTI and with a new sedan directly to our hotel. On the way back we had the same exclusive transport. The hotel is located rather alone. The tourist guide Harald has its shop 200 metres from the hotel. Otherwise one is in 20 minutes with the train or tuk tuk in necombo. We had with the wife of Harald a tour there and some interesting things to see. The tuk tuk are right in front of the hotel and with the drivers you can then arrange, what one to see wants or where you want to go.

The food at the buffet was always enough, so that everyone could find something. One can everything, salads, ice cream etc. To enjoy. The waiters were, up to a few exceptions always very concerned and with a small tip you can, of course, immediately friends. A us target change-it was on the 2. floor and through sound very noisy- very accommodating and in our sense taken care of. The rooms are shabby and day from the boys cleaned adequately. The bungalows are already renovated and supposedly should the rooms from may be renovated. Otherwise the hotel lies very secluded and ... shopping trips or excursions you can only by taxi or tuk tuk companies. If someone trips with the tour operator or private offerers is doing, is all probably himself-tried both and no big difference noticed. We spend already some holidays in countries with comparable standard and were except for some small things very satisfied. Conclusion: in a few years, we will probably go back, but in connection with a stay in Dubai. read more

Thoroughly enjoyable stay. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our wedding was co-ordinated perfectly from the moment we arrived. The food was always lovely, especially the Sri Lankan cuisine. Only slight negative was the Spa, they seemed disinterested and unhelpful both times we attempted to book a massage. This doesn't really detract from a wonderful Hotel, Country and Holiday. read more

    The service was good, every employee-and i mean everyone-, whether gardeners, pool boy, toomboy and so on. Always had a smile and a few words, whether it was in english or german for us ready. As a bad experience, i would like to check-in say, we arrived early in the morning at 5:30 hours in the hotel and could at 10:30 o'clock our bungalow refer-and also only, as a tour guide from TUI for us at the front desk began. The right on the day of arrival we know, however, should be improved, or the time of arrival of not be offered anymore!

    The location of the hotel is exceptional-a side of the indian ocean on the other side the channel - great. No other hotels in the immediate area, simply pure nature. Who into town wanted, was with the local tuk tuk- or taxianbieter well served.

After the long journey we were looking forward to our hotel/room and were sorely disappointed. Not only, that the room old and worn out, windows dirty and the bathroom on the ceiling and in all corners was moldy, no. And the was great!. The room was located also directly between anchor theater (open-air theater) and hotel disco. We made on the first night hardly sleep. Al we with the travel agent and front desk complained they said still frech'das is a Club Hotel with entertainment you must rechnen'und'es never anyone beschwert'. One offered a different room to, which just under ... our lag and almost the same problem had, because all rooms with garden view the theater before and the disco in the house! We had to upgrade and seaview room in order to go around this. Off course at a charge! Although the room was definitely not modern, but livable! From other guests we learned, that you share their change rooms had, because of serious shortcomings! Towels were stained, beach towel we got after change not again. Besides that the hotel is very pleasant, huge pool, and the direct beach access! Beach drops however very steeply, what you in pictures hardly looks! Food was good, there was something for everyone, even for non-spicy-eaters like me ☺ or vegetarian! And it was a wide selection. Staff was very friendly and always gave a lot of effort! Unfortunately were with the travel guide only 2 trips (with 11 days stay) to book. Since we can only Harald-tours (right on the hotel) recommendable, not cheap but flexible! So to sum it up:we can unfortunately not recommend! For the money there are certainly better hotels! read more

So all started with the us after the arrival on a normal room in the main hotel (where the rooms no more in so a good condition) run, even though we a bungalow had. Of course we complained and got then also promptly our bungalow. The food in the hotel was always very spicy no matter what you took even the ketchup, so i don't know what families with small children because food should. Despite all inclusive, there was delicious fish selection only 2 times the week only for an extra charge on a beach bar. And a glass of ... wine for dinner there is also only at a charge despite universe inclusive! The beach is open to the public, is not the hotel. One to two times is very early in the morning a lady at the beach past that the washed and hingeworfenen trash on a bunch of together together returns, the pile should then again from hotel employees gardeners disposed but instead of the trash in the bin to beat is rather at the beach with a shovel a hole dug and the trash at the beach burial-no joke-! read more

After a 10-day interesting trip and nights in very nice hotels we were looking forward to the subsequent beach holiday and were very dissapointed from the Hotel Dolphin. The hotel lobby is very attractive, but our room was a catastrophe. Old worn möbe, l torn sheets, stained towels and the bathroom strotzte mildewed and black silicon joints, the toilettendecke was the holder broken off and slipped with the daily business is constantly back and forth. Shower in the bathtub, what quite high tiled and therefore had a 'stool' to einsteiegen (a rather uncertain venture, especially for older people) On the ... tv you could Deutsche Welle see but not hear, after five times at the front desk had asked we gave up. The staff was very friendly except for the bartender. Where you the feeling you must apologize if you speak to them. The cocktails at the bars were partly unenjoyable. If you then finally found something which reasonably tasted, had these drinks on the next day a completely different zusammensrtzung and tasted not. On the day of departure, our time of departure was 01:00 a. m. at night and we should 9:30 p. m. will pick you up, we were asked the room at 12:00 o'clock to leave. Our question, if we the room longer could use (the hotel was not fully booked) was begrüdung at 15:00 o'clock new guests abgeleht. In the same breath, we were offered, that we the room inclusive lunch and dinner until 18:00 o'clock against a payment from 150,00 Dollar could use. We simply declined At the same time, us at 12:00 o'clock at lunch the all inclusive bands and we are told that we face from now all food and drinks would have to pay. We have stayed in many all-inclusive hotels vacation spend and we are also often late in the evening left, but that is never happened to us. read more

First visit to Sri Lanka very enjoyable the staff at the hotel could not have been more accomodating the went out of there way to be helpful in all areas of the hotel. The hotel is quite away from any other ammenities so you are a captive audiance. The food was excellent so much choice the head chef was out talking to guest evey night so if you had any complaints he was there to listen. The best rooms are the sea view villas with stunning views of the beach and the sea. The hotel is to close some parts ... from May to October to be refurbished it does need it some areas looks a bit sad but once this is done it will be even better. The one complaint I have is that the entertainment at night in the bar is very poor because there is no where else to go you are kind of stuck with it, you can sit outside but its not always possible to get a seat. read more

    Who something to moan about has it is your own fault. (there were of course) There is always something new that you can try. Whether fleisch'fresser' or vegetarian. The foodies come fully at their expense. The chairs would have been, at long last, a new reference need-many stofen in the country should not be difficult.

    The waiters were always friendly, also without light. The is there then, if you have the consistent friendliness to see. The room was always very thoroughly cleaned. Nice bed decorations! With english one gets ahead. The doctor we needed came quickly and was efficient.

    Who thinks on vacation sleep and then still (or 2) beach chair (s) to get here is somehow wrong. After we explained to the first 3 days it proceed cautiously and then left stupid launched, we made it as the other. I went to 6:00 a. m. at the beach walk around in the port the loungers to occupied. But i was never the first! Very bad the pensioner, from her arduous lives as pensioners need of recovery. If you just paarurlaubstage every year has must also there over its pure fight!

    A hotel for people who wants to have it pretty silent. The sea very rough-not a pure beach holiday possible. Partly very dangerous because of the really strong undercurrent. The hotel outside, only with tuk tuk or taxi to leave. With prices always negotiate!

The offer the food as well as their taste was perfect, there was for any taste Somewhat, from the international to the pure sinhalese kitchen everything was there. The only fault is the sea, for inexperienced swimmer and children less recommendable, as it is quite high waves there was (up to 1,5 meters) and a strong undercurrent.
