Golfhotel the refined art, very stylish and clean. Staff very accommodating, nice and really ' on the ball ' - very suitable for children. Golf course only a short distance away and very nice. Nice pool area with very comfortable couches and also service by the pool. Unfortunately for children no further possibilities, only small children's pool with 50-60 centimeter deep. A gorgeous hotel for... Not! Golfers
We find it so, the if the estimated 80% golfers already on the early morning indulge their hobby, developed in the most beautiful lagoon of El Gouna peace and tranquility.

Warning from the Steigenberger Hotel in El Gouna Egypt. This property seems after the revolution in oblivion and not a single german staff let alone a german management is to see. The arabs shine through tons of staff but not by competent management. The hotel met no 5 star standard and is on 3-4 stars Mallorca standard pigeonhole, only the price is not appropriate. The buffet is only mediocre. The freshly sliced cheese from the guillotine, the then also sometimes with bare hands to the omelet is further processed. Nsbesondere the hygiene is a problem, partly ekelig. Also cockroaches we ... have over the plates flash see ☺ that the chefs here also on ask aren't able, medium grill, is the smaller problems. Complaints you can spoaren, the arabs respond relatively asian, always smiling but hardly acting. This would be a german present leadership house really good. We every morning wake of strong noise from other rooms from the moving of furniture from the teams. We have the Steigenberger golf resort selected, because it our expectations for a quiet and relaxed vacation with appropriate class much. We are with our children 1,5 and 4-years-old in a very good hotel traveled, the management and all employees are so professional and very accommodating and professional as rarely experienced before. We inhabited a wonderful, not too surpassing room. The selection of dishes was every day a cinch. A mixture of largest taste and oriental treat. A generally very quiet hotel, no overcrowded places, a pleasant clientele, also a mixture of pleasant vacations and arab cultures. The staff ... were linguistically very deft, very attentive, accommodating without being pushy.
We will in the future again for the Steigenberger golf resort decide, because this hotel it creates european hotel art/leadership with charming arabic culture to unite. It was a great vacation. My husband was pleased about the only 2 steps to the golf course. The tea times were extremely flexible to book. The audience, like wonderful, mixed from all parts europe's. Culinary not so great, but since we are rather difficult. My italian man cooked ourselves so good, that we rarely good food abroad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had everything it needs, and the beds great. Gladly again! read more

In advance it must be mentioned that, so you in this hotel on almost all friendly staff -be it in the form of the gardener, the pool boys, the waiter or the sicherheitswachmanns -, the always make an effort are, on the wishes the guests' wishes. The friendliness worked at no time fake or with the intention of connected, tip to receive! We must nevertheless some negative points:
The staff are mostly very young, which in itself is a good, calm atmosphere in the hotel causes, but we got gradually the impression, it lacks someone, a coordinating/supervisory/accept their role. Seems ... for example in the restaurant two male employees, as this evening as only a black suit shall, this function-only one of the two be, to the guests and their wishes as far as possible to meet. From the other, hectic in the restaurant back and forth running person i was once formally overwhelmed and not even an apology! Sadly disappointed the food for a 5 star hotel-partly the same food at successive days was offered, vegetables were often overcooked, fish, however, partly not completely. Unclear was us also, which is why some food and juices with signs, explained, while others are not-for further questions regarding not signposted meals could us unfortunately not always a answer. Superficially, there is a very clean - however, the table cloths not replaced, the marks of the predecessor thus unfortunately visible.
A big disappointment was also the fitness studio, we are not golfers very looking forward to. Some already in visible number of existing appliances worked either during the entire stay not at all or fell in between again and again from. The response to the competent staff led no change here. Also would be a briefing in the equipment or in the possibilities the spa area have been desirable.
The hotel offers, as this no direct access to the beach or sea, to its guests, with a boat to a private beach (Zeytouna) can also walk. The work so far, but you feel also upon arrival at the beach first lost-the section of the Steigenberger golf resort, since the private beach from several hotels taken into account is, we then ultimately more or less accidentally found. Since the drive only 15 minutes takes, you can the beach definitely once, but it seemed a little carelessly and therefore invites definitely not to a longer stay a.
The room was cleaned well, unfortunately our room was (unlike the neighboring rooms ) the room but only between 14 and 16 clock cleaned. A bit unpleasant the sight of trays with would be removed dishes and partly the food leftovers, the somewhere in a corner in the hallways and only after a long time (at least half a day) removed.

We spend our 8. stay in the Steigenberger El Gouna, are golfing and relaxing.
On our flight with condor sits 4 hours long a young lady next to me, the suffering is. On day 2 after our arrival got it me then, a grippaler infection of the finest quality with everything that belonged to it. I can't remember the room to leave and liege four days in bed, while my husband its daily round plays.
Therefore i will start this review with the thanks to ' my nurse ' Dagmar for the spirited care, at Mohamed Gamal, the service manager and Mohamed 2 ( whose surname i unfortunately not know) from the restaurant for the great service, to the cook of the fantastic chicken soup with rice cooked has, like at mothers and the only i left appetite had.
A few hours before the departure, i am finally back reasonably fit, breakfasts almost normal and actually my cold is behind me. The vacation unfortunately also!
What has otherwise been done in the Steigenberger since our last stay in may 2012?
Mr home here since we Steigenberger have a vacation general manager was enjoys his well-earned retirement. Mr Thomas meyer his successor is very open to the guests to, converses with them and takes much time. Mr h. have lots of guests commented, that he were very limited. We cannot confirm, have often a kind word with him were changed and regrets, that we were not able to say goodbye to him, but mr meyer, a more open communication with the guests.
In may, we have the new chef met, mr Fritz has replaced. And mr Fritz we know since our first holiday here. The name of the new we didn't noticed, doesn't matter. The new chef is the old. Mr Fritz. How nice, the back are.
Changed also the menus in the golf club restaurant and the rotisserie. Reasonably priced without much change, but with a few new dishes.
Otherwise we feel it to be very pleasant, that the Steigenberger even in difficult times his staff reserves, all familiar faces, i would argue to 95% the staff, so we for years know. Only at the front desk are now several egyptians (partly with excellent german) on, we do not know.
Whether waiter, whether boy, whether bar, whether restaurant, whether at the pool (and boat service), whether security guard, if it was the gardener of all we will friendly with 'welcome back' welcomes.
The rating here should always also by taking into consideration the price level to be seen, i can despite 5 (egyptian stars ) for the price no 5 star service in a german star hotel expect. read more

We are now already the 3. time in a row Steigenberger Hotel and can only recommend it. The hotel isn't too small or too large. There is a great atmosphere and we felt from the first holiday like at home. It has always been exactly like we a vacation expect, pleasant staff, clean big room, great food, beautiful pool, etc. Also at christmas, everything very beautifully decorated, a christmas atmosphere to create. The hotel is just perfect for people, which peace and relaxation seeking. If we go back to Egypt flies, then huge probability in the Steigenberger to El Gouna. read more

My wife an i are the golf to El Gouna to the Steigenberger Hotel old. 5 once we have the capacity to play, in the case of a herorragenden condition and for players of all levels is suitable. At the only, golffreien day we have a ride through the lagoon and to the center walked and up to the harbor arrived. Expect is the price for alcoholic beverages not cheap. The Steigenberger our needs absolutely sufficed, evening entertainment by dancing groups or musicians during the meals included. Even of the bird's eye view of this site one recognizes that this must be of exceptional hotel. The generous rooms with heights up to 6 meters are placed in about 9 nice houses that are all positioned at artificial lagoon. Guests are mainly from Germany, Austria, Swiss, France... Meals (either breakfast or dinner) are so exhaustive that one could get a bathroom conscience. Average age of the guests is about 50 and you find mainly couples. read more

The hotel is great, food and living of the finest quality. But who in the evening a little entertainment want, is in the wrong place. Only dead pants. Biggest weakness: for a hotel, the almost only german speaking guests has, the knowledge of german (from front desk and staff) completely inadequate. Wonderful vacation, very friendly staff of arrival at the airport to the stay at the hotel.
Outside of the high season a gem, the best book all inclusive, as the otherwise very low price quickly in the amount is (lunch, drinks etc.), although still manageable, us very comfortable and welcome felt, dolphin trip is recommendable, since only half day, good crew, good food and for 26 Euro completely fine, only warm jacket do not forget. If you are late return flight has i would shuttle and take a taxi, as you otherwise all hotels and better a couple more ... hour in the heated pool spend can. The local white wine is solid, the red is so-so, wheat (!) Beer is great and served cold a delight. Pizza from the lunch menu isn't recommendable, ( still you are in Egypt) but the burgers for large hunger or thai style dishes. All in all a lovely hotel, german measurement of a 5 star hotel one should not expect, what the international cuisine wise, but the very pleasant stay no somewhat bad aftertaste. If you are after a good Schnitzel or a currywurst longs, should at café vienna in El Gouna downtown again, and Brigitte ( warm and gracious) ask. There comes everyone at its expense. Had a great time, gladly anytime again. P. s. the negative reviews you read here are completely hairs rider ripped off, we were momentarily confused, and empty cliches eclosed, no idea where these people your holiday. The hotel is divided among several buildings. Because of this you get the feeling from a small village and is manageable. Our room(junior suite) was around 70 square meter and for three people very generous. It was clean. The breakfast buffet good and the dinner buffet has a good choice offered. However the salad buffet was a bit sparse. (we had the half board)
Wlan a wunschgedanke -atypical for a 5 star hotel today!
The average age i guess the 47 years. Rarely i found, that many locals guests with family and care to see. The stay was pleasant. read more
