On the hillside in the village the gaula (between Funchal and the airport), and a German couple with strong expertise and dedication run Vila Verde is a house for Madeira-travellers, the stay away from hotels and tourist industry. You received a individual care and real expertise on the island, excellent advice and insider tips for dining/hikes taking into account small handicaps (for example heights, etc.) and incomparable view on the Atlantic Ocean. Disadvantages, you should not hide the: you really need from the first to the last day a rental car, to to overcome the narrow and winding road ... up to the next villages. Madeira streets away from the main streets are generally a challenge for each drivers! in the neighborhood it is only a small shop and a pharmacy. Vila Verde has a nice picturesque garden, when the weather is nice you can use. Because of the bad weather in the April we were dependent on the room. A small handtuchförmiges room with a kitchenette, neither tv, safe and balcony, only bed, small table, two rugged chairs. Was heated in spite of the cold only in the evening, so that only remained during the flight. Very positive is the owner to name but a few. Every morning these for fresh bread rolls. There is even a free cup of coffee. Always there is great advice on excursions and weather. read more

The tips, the owner, for the purpose of tourist attractions and the weather were always very hielfreich and great days brought even if the weather in gaula was not very beautiful. We felt in the week very comfortable and can only highly recommend Villa Verde read more

Well located small property with great views of the Sea and a large garden, the linger. Shopping is nearby the most. Small bar with good food is in the immediate vicinity. The tips of the loving hosts Margot and Jürgen on hikes, excursions, weather forecasts, restaurants and so on. are priceless. Our room, the apartment on the top floor is very spacious and has everything, what you need including a fully equipped kitchen. Cleanliness was great importance was attached. In short, we felt very comfortable here and certainly not the last time here. read more

    Basic, but everything you needed was available. The kitchen is pretty much everything available. Everything was clean and neat, room service ok. Only the knives could be food hotter; -).

    The breakfast coffee and the Brötchenbringservice (if desired) are great and reliable. The coffee is free and the rolls are the same price as the baker's: -).

    Intimate, very nice atmosphere. Margot was enough for us and their advice to the hikes are priceless. The "provide an unique combination" to the island is incredible. Never intrusive, but there when you need them.

    The Vila Verde is situated in a quiet area, a good choice for independent travelers and hikers. The view from the terrace overlooking the sea is just great. Nearby are many hiking opportunities.

    Our studio was beautifully located, functional furnishings, and a little on the small side but had everything its place and important things like (good! ) Hair dryer, coffee maker and toaster were there too. The bathroom was spacious and even with a bidet. As it is still rather chilly in March, mornings and evenings was heated. In the garden there was plenty of furniture, so was a great spot to have breakfast in the garden with sea view.

    Gastronomy there were there, but not in the sense of bread roll service and the pot of coffee in the morning were always reliable and a great relief for breakfast! (Coffee is on the house way, this is also be beautiful! ) And you can get drinks, so one needed and simply write.

    From the families Margot and Jürgen can you plenty of information about hikes, restaurants, especially to the weather! Get, you are always hard working and very helpful and friendly. You can borrow gallons of guidebooks on Madeira, but also a lot of novels etc. , if you have time after the hikes. The room cleaning was extremely tidy.

    Shopping possibilities for the basics are there, and a bar nearby with reasonable food (just for us and freshly prepared). To Santa Cruz or Canico de baixo is it not far (for shopping or eating out), the plane you want to see, disturbing aircraft noise there is, is the sea didnt do anything about! From the hotel is great for hiking too but only partially, as the access is steep and narrow, winding are and the drivers right rapidly. Rental car was a must for us!
