Overall, we were not satisfied with the service in the hotel. The staff at the reception spoke only bad English/German, so that one could communicate only with difficulty. With one exception the staff were rather Unmotivated and dull-we often had the feeling to be a bother. The room cleaning was adequate but not very thorough (we had Silverfish in the room!). Unfortunately, we also no peace in the Hotel Astoria. Especially in the front rooms you can sleep at night, not even with the windows open with no air conditioning which would be quite good. The bathroom counter space was ... missing completely, an appropriate sun protection on the windows. Moreover, there is no possibility for drying towels. Also with regard to the location there are certainly better hotels: until the next (during our stay hopelessly crowded) beach 15 minutes walk it. However there is the Promenade in the immediate vicinity.

This small hotel is very nice for a short stay at the balaton. We had a large room in the stylish, beautifully renovated villa. For a long stay there is very little closet and storage space. All of the rooms are without balcony. Despite the few guests was the breakfast buffet wide and good. In March had many restaurants and stores were closed. The beach promenade and the environment, especially the peninsula Thiany and bars near the hotel were very good. read more
