True 5 star hotel but slightly disappointing

I had two recent stays and on both occasions found the hotel quite good but each time found some irritations that should not occur at such an establishment.
Both times was in newly renovated rooms which are bright and well appointed. Food in the restaurants is good quality; personally I think the steak in the TexMex is excellent though they need to make more efforts to control mosquitoes in the dining area. Swimming pools and terraces look very inviting for when the weather warms up. Disappointing selection on TV’s in rooms with only the usual free to air channels.
As ... to the small problems in the first room the AC was not working properly. This was repaired after two discussions at reception. Tea and coffee is provided in the room but apparently it is not policy to replenish, which I find very strange. After two days at my first stay I asked for more and it was supplied but second stay I didn’t bother asking when replacement failed to appear. Kettle not working in second room, replaced quickly. Door card key failed twice on second stay causing an irritating walk back to reception. Wash room attendant hovering around in lobby toilet clearly hungry for tips. Check out somewhat slow on both occasions.
The above are obviously small matters but they should not be occurring in what should be a hotel of the highest grade. Overall a good hotel but needs some work to improve the experience. read more

A well-maintained hotel with beautiful pool and friendly staff. After the beach vacation in Hurghada undertake we have a short trip after Cairo, the pyramids to visit. The loungers ' around the corner', the hotel pool you have a wonderful view. It recommends a driver, the one to all sights brings. Before price negotiate. We are also still after sakkara dangers ( about 30 minutes with the taxi), wonderful. We had breakfast booked, very rich buffet, delicious-service could have been more attentive to. The coffee was usually only briefly before you finished at breakfast. After you the tour marathon in ... the heat Cairo had finished, freshened up a bathroom in the pool. The hotel lies not in the town center, but it's much cheaper than the hotels in the inner city. A few meters away from the hotel is a kind of Arabic snacks, where you for example delicious Schawerma for cheap prices can buy. read more

I chose this hotel, because it is a good review and directly on the pyramids was; it was important to me. My choice was right. The staff are friendly (not pushy) and knowledgeable. I have no other five star hotel in Egypt kennenlelernt, the staff forth comparable was good. The area of this hotel was our criteria a disaster. The complex is well of streets surround; 2, 2 quiet Stassen. In front of the hotel wait taxis. A driver took me a 8 hourly tour of the town offered for 30 euros. We sat 2 hours in the usual traffic. ... Although he was 14 in the business was, he knew the sights not, we wanted to see. But have markets see, where the tourist normally not go anywhere. Here we were titles and didn't dare to photograph. read more

from the outside the hotel makes not much... but what makes the already in the haze-city Cairo from ;-) ? the entrance area is in comparison to many other hotels rather low and 'simply' held, however you feel welcome.
We have a completely clean, friendly and posh hotel met without a complaint (especially in regard to the from us payed price).
The best for us (at about 100 euros for 2 people with breakfast and with view on the pyramids) hotel, its vacation in Egypt to start, and to finish. read more

A hotel, in a very lively area of the Gizehs is located. Before entering the grounds, the vehicle shall be subject to a security check, what the guest security. In the lobby there is a bar, as well as the front desk. The whole area is allowed to smoke, but not at the smell is. Our room was in the newly built part of the hotel and was spacious, tastefully equipped. Although we had the view of a street and were no balcony, but also absolute peace and quiet. The bathroom was tastefully equipped, but had no hair dryer. We ... immediately on request at the front desk on the room brought getting. I think, it is not by default in the rooms. The two pools are very clean and nicely designed. In the middle there is a bar, both directly from the water, as well as over a small bridge can be achieved. The big pool is a pleasant water temperature, the smaller with water fall is very cold. The pool area is open from eight o'clock until sunset. The longest receive the small pool on the left at the corner. The other beach chairs already at 15 o'clock in the shade. In the morning gerollte towels from the staff on the beach chairs, so you don't have to ask. Prices for food and drinks are similar to those in Germany and therefore very expensive for Egyptian standards. It was cheaper, if you walk out of the hotel is ruas, left around the corner is a kiosk. Ideally coincides with a drink there again, as you were immediately and constantly asked to visit some papyrusgeschäfte or perfume. Excursions we booked directly over TUI, which was very expensive, but also rich and worthwhile experience. The excursion to Cairo with a visit of the museum, the grand bazaar and mosques was very good, as well as the trip to Memphis sakkara and the pyramids in. On both days we had a German speaking travel guide and a chauffeur of a Merzedes the hotel has picked up. The Nile-in the evening with dinner and one-on-one belly dancing show was for our taste too expensive and the money is not justified. They offered a buffet, which is better in the hotel, then about 30 minutes we could experience on the ship at night and Cairo, then there is a belly dancing show. Was very relaxing on the whole vacation, we didn't have a person on our part, the organizational things for us to have clarified. Directly in the hotel there is a bank, where euro to Egyptian pounds exchanged. It is advisable, in Egypt to change money in the hotel, since the course is better than in Germany clearly. For the first tip at the airport can be used in the euro area, this will be welcome there. There is also a ATM directly across the street from the pool entrance. Here you can take credit card or money. Isolate Master Card debit card does not work. read more

the HOUSE
we spent 3 nights and had our program, but so many things ... we could in the short time I try and see.
there are tight 540 rooms with about 35 square meters, mini-bar, TV, bathroom with hair dryer and make-up mirror, and bathtub/shower. The rooms there are 4 categories:
_Deluxe rooms: views of the pyramids and the pool, 2 large single beds, Safety deposit box, smoking or non-smokers, shower gel and so on; price: the 135 euros.
_Deluxe royal Club room: Egyptian and European design, access to the internet, interactive TV system, King size bed, Seating area, private check in, exclusive Toiletries; price around the 200 euros.
_Deluxe Suite_: pyramid view, separate bedroom and living room, VIP facilities Price c. 250 euros.
_Junior Suite_: gardenor street view, daily newspaper, free choice Price about 300 euros.
I don't know, in price is included, with breakfast or without. We had half board, however in the package costs.
the hotel is a the best the area, in the prices shows.
there are special barrier-free rooms, there must be the interested guest inquire.
the lobby is very large, left a long front desk with bank and service such as for example Borrowing car service. On the right hand side is a bar. There was a sitting area, right comfortable in spite of the Halls atmosphere. From the lobby there is a restaurant, 'Laredo', which was closed. Up stairs leading to function rooms of different size and celebrated also can be improved. If you details regarding that interested, please contact the hotel, since I have not incorporated.
on the wall in the lobby straight ahead a plan is drawn to this level. It looks like chalk on a black Blackboard depicted, very nice and sometimes other. On tall vases with decoration, but real flowers. Very beautiful and tasteful.
to the right it went to the restaurant. Here mornings and evenings from the buffet dining and a la carte lunch.
to the right of the restaurant entrance are toilets.
from the restaurant and from the hall can outside to pool area arrive.
Behind the pool area are also toilets, with lockers for valuables here, the you don't want to use the pool. Here you can also move.
in the middle the pool is an island, on the a bridge comes. The restaurant is' the MED ', for snacks and a la carte dinners. View of the pyramids from all the pool area.
beach chairs are in groups, sun screens also, service staff walk round or sit on the two ' Hochsitzen ', on the safety or wishes of the guests to eighth.
the toilets are accessible and relatively large, so for wheelchair users not a problem. They are very neat and clean, note on the doors show, that several daily cleaned is. Fresh guest towels are everywhere ready.
the lobby is to the left to several lifts, to the desired floor a place.
there are a variety of services: Housekeeping, spa services, currency exchange, wake-up calls under other
we have the cleaning and the bank no used.
the cleaning is very recommendable, neat, fast and cheap. During a 3 week trip in a hot country the cleaning in the hotel. We used in Kenya, on the Nile-ship and now. You pay for a long time or 3/4 trousers several, blouses/shirts some and so on under 10 euros and everything gets ironed again. Definitely recommendable.
the bank is next to the front desk, here you can cash traveller's cheques exchange or cash. This costs a price, which I know but no more. But that is irrelevant, as a trip to the next the bank would cost money. The change was done quickly and uncomplicated. Current rates hang by the bank.
Stamps there are unfortunately no to buy. It is a shortcoming, but also not too bad.
Wi-Fi there are, but I have not used. read more

Many things were already said about this hotel (most of the match Sunday), so we summary: per-a very nice and new pool area with two large freshwater pools (1 pool brand after reconstruction, in the spring of 2011 only finished!). Also a kids pool area.-you always got a beach chair and an umbrella by the pool (all free).-quiet and very nice ambience throughout the property. Only a few guests.-view from the pool and partly the rooms directly to the Giza pyramids! We had a room on the top floor of the new cultivation with a ... pyramid view from the balcony-it was great! The dinner and breakfast was very good. No hint. very friendly service (front desk, concierge, etc.). location to visit the pyramids very good! The pyramids are within walking distance.-new or converted part building. Now completely ready. cons-location is a bit off for other attractions in Cairo, that is always needed a taxi (but very cheap). Tip: taxis not order at the reception, but either even at the roundabout in front of the hotel one stop (be careful, drivers may not always English!) or directly by the hotel-congierge of order (the concierge give a tip.). It was cheaper and better than at the reception!-The air conditioner in the entire area fell partly from. And the August. Puhh!-Was a noisy street in front of the hotel hear it (only by the pool, not in the rooms). Tips/comments-top trip to the pyramids from the hotel with a taxi: Taxi as described above to organise (including where appropriate a day before booking). Pyramids-trip should be no more than 150.-le cost (about 3-4 hours duration). The taxi driver drove a ticket to the fair (only tickets possible, no reservations possible). After the ticket he drove with the taxi to the (very large!) pyramids area to anywhere you want to go, for example to Giza-pyramids, the sphinx, the lookout for all three pyramids, to the pyramids, etc.! it where you want and wait for one to one, for example, the Giza-pyramids inside besichtgt. It works to 100% and is a very pleasant/comfortable way the pyramids (especially in the heat) to visit-a kind of private trip! The cab driver should be paid only after the trip (maximum 50% before only when it wants to! before).-for the Cheops-Pyramid are just 300 per day tickets for the inside visit issued! So in the morning at 09:00 A.M. hurry! The pyramid mittlgroße (= Chefren) has no ticket for inside. The survey included all pyramids Sphinx is always possible.-If you want to use the taxi longer, so combinations are possible (for example, there is still drive to downtown Cairo or back to the airport). So it cost, for example, a taxi for the day with good bargain. 300-350 about.-(per taxi) le. As I said, the hotel concierge willing to help with the taxi for baksheesh (= tip) and good!Location-within walking distance to the pyramids is not recommended! See the following point.-the pyramid schemes and on the way there are very many cameleer and kids on the way all baksheesh want or what to sell (guides, tourist stuff, camel rides, etc.)very annoying! but always nicely cool and say ' no!-evenings at the pyramids also light-shows. If you like it.--in the holy month of fasting Ramadan all attractions about 1-2 hours earlier!-we had for. 350-le a comprehensive taxi trip made as follows: pyramids and Sphinx/second first back to the hotel (shower, check-out, etc.)/ third/fourth Citadel Egyptian Museum and mosque Mohammed Ali/Khan El-khalili bazaar for the fifth or sixth back to Cairo-Airport. A very great but good solid taxi trip! on the side next to the hotel (with the noisy Street) was a small supermarket where you can buy cheap drinks, etc. But be careful, some annoying guy who wants a of the streets in his shop tow.-total is for such an individual Cairo trip (with taxi, private domestic flight, etc.) may be a little adventurousness necessary. But if you book this with a very impressive dares, quite cheap and a little comfortable Cairo-experience (as private taxi) to the rewards you will remember for a long time and well. read more
