The rooms are comfortable large, plenty of storage space in closets, drawers and so on. It has a small balcony with two chairs and a table. The room service is perfect and the cleanliness, also in the bathroom was perfect. Tv and safe is available, also a mini bar and telephone. The bathroom - with separate toilet-is quite generous and meets high requirements. Bathrobes and slippers are from the hotel provided free of charge.

The hotel has 1 restaurant and 1 bar. It was enough, because the hotel yes not very big is. To sum it up : the gastronomy in this hotel is phenomenal. The high school! We have booked half board, so the supper was included. The is worthwhile definitely. Already the breakfast buffet is extremely rich and always fresh. Here nothing was missing! The supper demonstrate much imagination and love for the kochberuf. The kitchen is the mediterranean style; fish was missing, of course, never. Outstanding prepared and served. The eye is with, they say. I could not agree more. The wine prices i am rather moderate. The wine from Portugal imported and including it has some good wines. Prices: between 28-and 36-€ per bottle.

The hotel is as star hotel registered and is renowned for its service, friendliness, cleanliness and so on. Absolutely this standard. The fremdsprachenkenntnisse are at the front desk exist: except portuguese, spanish and english. You feel in good hands.

Here the hotel offers hardly any possibilities. It is not intended and did not the guests, the such. Shortly : in the hotel itself no sports or other entertainment possibilities. So no disco and no kids club and so on. However, it features 2 pools, one heated on a 27 degrees. Area is very clean. Also is a bar in the pool area available. On the pool terrace and in the interior area are enough sun loungers and sunshades available. Snacks and drinks are served. Further the hotel has a spa with a sauna, steam bath and so on. These are free of charge.

This hotel benefits from its excellent location with its gorgeous view on Funchal. It has a large terrace, from the capital Madeira, the harbor and the sea view. To the center from Funchal it is with the taxi (about 7 €) about 5 minutes, on foot definitely not recommendable, since rather steep, narrow streets and faster transport.

The room was big enough, 2 armchairs, a table, a stool, a desk with a lot of ablagenöglichkeit, a large mirror, safe, closet and luggage rack, everything absolutely sufficient. The bed is very comfortable and big! , air conditioning, tv, balcony with chairs and table, minibar and telephone,. Everything available and functional. The bathroom was in good condition, with a bath, what my husband opposed to a shower would have traded, was sufficient and thus the room absolutely comfortable and clean.

The restaurant 'la belle terrasse' is simply a highlight each evening. The food had star level, was diverse, adequate and extremely delicious! We have also the offer use, the other restaurants the charming hotel chain to visit, so that we in the hotel estreito, in the restaurant 'adega da quinta' traditional food could enjoy. Ultimately, it us but in our restaurant always the best, as the espresso on the terrace with a great view, the evening super triradiate has. The breakfast buffet was the highlight in the morning, because the selection was changed daily, freshly prepared eggs and a lot of fresh fruit, in addition to the view of the city was always a good start to the day.

The staff is without exception always friendly and accommodating, at the front desk, in the restaurant and the shuttle drivers. Communication was always good (english, partly. Also german) and the service was accordingly good. The note, that our honeymoon is, to have it immediately welcome and with a fruit basket in the room surprised!

There was luckily no animation:-) One evening was' fado ' during the meals made, a typical portuguese music style, really reasonable and not intrusive with a good singer, accompanied by 2 guitar players. There was a cool outdoor pool, a warmer pool both indoors, as well as outside was and a very warm jacuzzi. Many beach chairs, not too closely next to each other and the possibility with delicious drinks and snacks. Wellness and spa offers, there were enough, as well as a steam room, and a sauna, this but we didn't have time!

The hotel convinced in the foyer, because the promised 'colonial-style' of the old mansion was impressive. The hotel is open-plan and therefore not too big, yet the grounds for 'feet-represented' an. Our room had seitenmeerblick, that means we could the mountains and the sea see, which we appreciated a lot. The whole complex is clean, including pools and rooms. Towels and bathrobes were prepared. The guests predominantly pairs in the middle to high age. We had the half board and were very satisfied.

The area is very quiet, which on the whole feel impact: very relaxing! Only the distance to the city center you could find fault with, but the shuttle service of the hotel was included, and a taxi in the evening from the center up not very expensive. It was the location with a view of the bay and the city simply breathtaking!

Rooms were okay, if worn. The tv was an old tube with ARD, RTL, german wave and ProSieben without sound, welcome to the digital age. Mini bar available, but expensive. Coffee maker in Germany standard only in the arrogant quintas vistas not. Safe free of charge

Breakfast was okay, although everyday the same. Evenings there was for halbpensionisten à la carte or menu of the day, and the waiter every day mentioned, that the limit for half board on 35 €is. As one occurs oneself, as if one would have a luncheon voucher from the social security office, although the performance in advance, had. Below ground. There was the service in the three stars airport hotel in Berlin 10 times better

The front desk is underground and is more a youth hostel and not a 5 star hotel. The luggages the guest the 10 stages at the entrance even haul up. The hotel is located above from Funchal. It is approximately 20 minutes away from the airport. There were about 50 guests. About the guest structure: 70-80% germans, the rest scandinavians, french and no russians. A friendly coexistence. We booked half board. There is a free car park for gästemietwagen. Wifi free of charge in the room

Funchal city center is the best with the taxi 6€ or with the bus to reach. With a rental car is it because of the parkplatznot not recommendable. Each point on the island is with a rental car in 40 minutes through the very extensive road network to reach.

The rooms (we had one of on the top floor) are relatively small and the existing room is in my opinion badly used. Storage space is scarce, the closet relatively small. Why the entrance area in front of the bathroom was not used, to for instance simple hooks for jackets etc.. On the wall and so a small wardrobe to create? When my husband was missing the cover and was not renewed. Why is the hair dryer firmly installed in the schreibtischschublade and not in the bathroom? The furniture and color on the walls have large signs of wear and tear, as well as the floor (carpet, bad moved) in need of renovation. In the room the humidity owing to air conditioning system (however too loud, around at night anzulassen ) to handle, in the hallways but you felt, as against a wall to walk. The leaky roof deed be sure way to the high humidity in the house. From a open the windows at night is disadvice, there are tons of mosquitos! A special screens in the sliding door integrated (and already in other 5 stars hotels) would provide good service!

The breakfast buffet is plentiful, although improvement (for example more variety of sausage and cheese; more ' sweet ' for breakfast; not only simple tea!). There was always only two sorts muffins. Why has not even the typical gingerbread (which as a welcome gift in the room was offered) to the buffet or otherwise a bun (for example pastel de nata)? The dinner consisted of 4-5 courses, their compilation of the dishes in the main was in. Tasted is the food commendable (but why so much balsamicodeko?). The dinner moved but forever and not we have rarely seen for 4 courses 2,5 hours sat. That is from time to time very pleasant, but at the latest on the 3. day but rather annoying. Here one could possibly move on, the guest for example to questions, whether the dessert not somewhat faster serves to have would like. Was a shame we found, that the food little /not any local bonds had. I would say to the possibility the participation in the so-called dine-around program. Here you have the possibility to in three other restaurants of the hotel chain after advance notification to food (charged as with the half-board in the hotel itself only the beverages). We have two restaurants tested (once at the quinta do Monte and once typical in the quinta de estreito). Specially the food in the quinta do Monte tasted good for us: also four course serves, but much faster and with a much better ratio meat/fish side dishes.

The service is a 5 star hotel absolutely inappropriate, the handling of complaints more than poor. The staff are businesslike polite and rather reserved. Given the large number of german speaking guests (partly the majority of the guests) it would be appropriate, a little more emphasis on foreign languages of the staff to put (reception and restaurant), this is a house and is part of the service. Only the (above?) -waiters spoke german. The cleaning of the rooms is however a catastrophe: Dusty drawers in the closets (we have not used all) and a totally inadequate cleaning of the bathroom (hairs) indicate an extremely sloppy room cleaning back. The toilet flowed to the part of a horrific, bad smell (perhaps even better under the edge clean?). The walls next to of the toilet meadows strange splash on (or before and vorvorgängern?). On demands there, we were only told, that anyway not leave would and therefore the further cleaning save can! The summit, however, was when we before breakfast a kakerlake in the room welcomed. We have stayed in very many vacations in the south and this always in very good hotels, but such animals we have never experienced. After digesting the first shocks we have the animal settles and to rapid elimination of kadavers asked. Instead of a apology or a small compensation tried to charge us the receptionist only to believe, that because of the wet weather the cockroaches from outside hereingelockt would. About an hour later we arrived from the breakfast and the animals still not eliminated. Only after return request and further wait, someone has made bequemt the dead kakerlak to dispose. You wanted to probably wait, until the room anyway with 'clean' at the row. Unacceptable!

There is a heated indoor and a small outdoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a 9-hole mini golf course, which was already once seen better days had (here one could very simple once the lines follow). The outdoor pool was greenish/brownish stains (see pictures). The beach chair mattresses were partly dirty and with holes, cracks. Also the umbrellas were partly holes. For a luxury hotel, the quinta das vistas claims, it wants to be, this is not acceptable. The shower in the wellness area has a broken body on, the apparently already longer exist. This could have been one in the meantime to tackle. Positive is to be pointed out, that you fresh towels in the pool area can take. The offered spa/beauty treatments we didn't use. As a part of dinner finds once a week a fado performance instead of.

Negative: inadequate room cleaning; poor dealing with complaints; cockroach; puddles in the lobby by leaky roof; bad purified pool; worn room; bad foreign languages Positive. As a starting point for tours around the island good, nice view from the restaurant terrace ; good food Renovations desperately needed! We have a very rain-laden time and therefore we could witness of the leaking glasdaches on of the lobby will, the from the side of the hotel just by always laying of towels and a painting of yellow 'attention danger of slipping' signs met. Luxury is different! In the 9 days our stay, there were no handwerkerarbeiten recognizable, the water and humidity problem permanently have available.

The hotel is despite its proximity to city centre located in a relatively quiet area. By the pool and in the open is the traffic noise, but to hear. In the immediate vicinity to the hotel there were unfortunately no shopping possibilities (supermarket or similar). To Funchal even there is a twice daily verkehrender hotel shuttle bus. It is a walk to the center because of the relatively small distance possible, because of the high traffic volume, the sometimes narrow streets and the sometimes missing sidewalks is disadvice. As a starting point for excursions to discover the entire island the hotel is excellent. A rental car is very recommendable.

Size: was okay and sufficient, however don't like TUI with 45 meters² described, but approximately 30 meters². Facilities: poor, with alleged 5 stars not even a Kettle available, not even in the suites. Condition: nothing special clean and in need of renovation.

The quality the food was very good. The prices just. The half board was used by us. No local dishes. There is a dine-around -offer with shuttle service, it was once from us A sister hotel with traditional restaurant used. In the dessert was A housefly in the quarkmasse. Full of disgust we have the dessert Returned and they offered us' alternative' by the same cakes a new Piece at! The cognac to combat nausea was ordered Had to be paid!

Leisure offers will not wished, therefore not Miss anything. The swimming pool is, as already described above, in relation to Cleanliness and attractiveness more than to be desired. The view however is fantastic.

In need of renovation room: bad carpet, worn-out Seating, tattered curtains, holey umbrella and cushions at the Pool, after every rain puddles of water on the stairs and in the lobby, Corrected by laying of towels. Bad cleaning the room: obtrusive smell of urine in the Toilets area, The also after repeated asking the verpissten plates, caused by peeing standing up, at the Toilet around to clean not been complied with. Own help with einmalwaschlappen, sagrotan and shower gel. Dusty and dirty Drawers, also poorly cleaned. The pool area was Neither particularly beautiful, still clean. Pollution of the pool and the Defective discharges bear witness to this, that this longer time not Cleaned. We booked this with 9 days stay in any case never Seen. Compensated the beautiful all around view and the beautiful garden. It is on the positive side, that lots of plants exactly bechildert were. The perfect room with a wonderful view. Air conditioning, minibar, flat screen tv and a nice bed including.

We only booked with breakfast and it was-especially for portugal - more than enough. It was missing at nothing. The view from the terrace was fantastic, all very clean and well-kept.

We were exceedingly friendly received/adopted. The staff is very attentive, the cleaning of the rooms is top. We had no complaints. Our questions were always to our satisfaction answered.

There is a spa, which we didn't use, the but also from afar very nice looked. We usually the peace and quiet by the pool to read used. The loungers are modern, comfortable and everything very clean. We would have remained gladly longer.

Gorgeous, quiet and not too big hotel above the city. The furnishing is in a very good condition, everything is very clean and the very friendly and courteous staff.

The location is good, if one it somewhat quiet and remote would like. Shops are however almost not available. Also the hotel is only for guests with a car recommendable. The ' sidewalk ' in front of the hotel there is - how often in Funchal - not available. Who on foot is must be prudent. By bus however, you can in 10 minutes in the historic part/harbor. To the airport it was about 30 minutes the easy access to the highway is excellent. Nevertheless, it is in the hotel and also at the magnificent pool pleasantly quiet. There were only a few guests with children there, that contributes to peace.
