Hotel Central Wolter^{(3 stars)}

Rooms are a good size with tv, phone ,hair dryer, safe and mini bar. The towels and bedding are changed every second day or as required. If you have a front facing room and sleep with the window open it can be quite noisy at about 7am as the workmen start to clear the snow and get the village ready for the morning but if you are planning to hit the slopes by 9ish it doesn\'t really matter. Keep the window closed and you\'ll hear nothing The interconnecting family rooms are great and provide quite a saving - you get a twin room, an interconnecting bathroom and the another twin or single- great value for a family

What can we say about the food? It is the best in the village! As this was our 4 th visit to this hotel (although our 11th to the village)we can honestly say we have eaten in nearly every restaurant in the village main area and the food at the wolter is amazing. It has become a tradition with our family to have onion soup and rosti the night we arrive and chateaubriand the last night so that is how diverse the food is. Booking is well advised for the evening as the restaurant is popular with local as well as tourists

The Staff in the hotel are great. Their knowledge of english is excellent and we also heard them speak dutch and french. They are all local people and have a great knowledge of the area and will help with anything they can. There is a laundry service in the hotel but laundrettes are also available in the village.

Ski and snowboard rental is available next doorand is very good. The hotel has no sports facilities of it own other than a storage and drying room downstairs. Everything else is so close it doesn\'t need them. The sister hotel ,The Spinne, does have a spa which you can make use of as does the leisure centre

This is a superb family run hotel. We opted for Bed and Breakfast but you can also choose half board. It has an amazing outdoor heated terrace which serves food and drink all day and is great for\'people watching\' or relaxing as you come in from the slopes. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained with the style of decor you would expect fron this region in Switzerland.

Its location could not be better. It is across the road from the bus station with all the connections to various ski areas, 50 yds max from the train station and 100yds from the superb leisure centre and tourist info. 15 mins walk will take you right through the village and two mins takes you to a great ski/board hire shop where they can also service your own equipment overnight for a very reasonable rate. There is parking available at the hotel but we arrived at geneva and got a one way hire car to interlaken(hertz) then took the train(30mins) to Grindelwald then did the reverse the day we left. Once you are in the village and have purchased your pass you dont need a car as buses and trains are free within the whole area (except to the top of the jungfrau - a supplement is charged)

We were on half bord so had evening meals at the hotel along with breakfast. The food is very good everything is spotless and clean. there is also a resteraunt and bar at the front of the hotel with a heated terrace. the terrace is the place to be between 4 and 6 to people watch and enjoy the local atmosphere. The food is a mixture of swiss french italian and german this may sound strange but it is extremely good and i could not fault it.

The service is great, very relaxed and friendly while still maintaining a high standard and eficiency. the front desk is run very well and all the staff were fluent in english, i only wish my swiss was as good! This is a 3 star hotel, sister to the spinne (5 min away 4 star) and offers great value for money and the use of the spinne spar it makes the stay even better. all the facilities you could require are avalable but if you prefer more luxury i would recomend the spinne.

The hotel has no sports facilities but these are avalable in the sportscentre across the road and a spar to die for is avalable free of charge at the hotel spinne 5 min walk away. this is a quiet hotel with a relaxed atmosphere but just down the road is all the entertainment you need just visit the spinne or hotel eiger and dont foreget the sports bar.

Located opposite the train station this family run hotel is of traditional swiss mountain design. It is a good size alowing ample space for guests without loosing that family feel and becoming just another resort hotel. the hotel is kept in exelent condition, everything is kept spotlesley clean, beds changed daily etc. It is a very warm welcoming place with candle lit evening meals end exelent service.

The hotel\'s location is very central. you have a 20 second walk to the train station which takes you to the southern ski slopes and a 5 min walk to the first bahn (cablecar)which opens up the rest of the mountains. the hotel faces the eiger and the view in my opinion is one of the finest mountain scenes in the world. The apes ski is very good but not intrusive if you prefer a relaxed time. The village is lined with small shops offering everything you could need. The very well run public transport will take you anywhere and the tourist office (sportscentre) can arange any trips you would like.

The rooms are very clean and bedding etc gets changed every 3rd day. We were in a family room which was actually two rooms with an interconnecting bathroom. As our children are 17 and 19 this gave them and us the privacy we required at a reasonable cost. our room had a balcony facing the wetterhorn,tv,minibar,radio alarm and hair dryer. On arrival there was a lovely plate of fresh fruit.

The food is of a very high standard and is everything from rosti to chateaubriand via a multitide of choices. Booking is recommended as it gets very busy in the evening. The outside seating area is a great place to sit and unwind after an action packed day on the slopes

The hotel staff were excellent. They are helpful and know the area well and so are able to advise visitors.

This is a very pleasant family run hotel. The rooms are traditionally furnished and very clean. Nothing is too much bother for the excellent staff who put up with our attempts at speaking german with humour and in return spoke excellent english.

Its situation is ideal as it is between the bus and train station. The bus for the ski school and the slopes is just across the road from the entrance The leisure centre is a two minute walk and free entry to it is included in the hotel tarriff. The hotel does have limited private parking but there is also a large car park 50 yds away.

The front rooms are good. Very excellent vieuw of the Eiger.

The restaurants are very excellent. good prices.

Very friedly personnel. The owners are Swiss and dutch. A very good combination. Nothing is impossible

The hotel has no Swimming-pool, Spa-area or something like that.

Absolute a excellent hotel with friendly owners and staff. The restaurant is very good. It's one of the best hotels in Grindelwald.

The hotel is near the railway to Kleine Scheidegg and 10 minutes walk to Firs bahnen. The city centre is 1 seconds nearby. It's very in the middle
