We had a stopover in kuala lumpur, and with this hotel we were super service as the petrona towers, as well as the kl tower and all the shopping malls easy to reach on foot were.
The hotel itself exuded a charm of the of past era (this is not bad-intentioned ) the rooms are big enough, however a bit dated what the furnishing subject.
Breakfast is more on asians aligned but you always find something what one tastes.
Very nice the bar is in the lobby, the evening also live music.
The check in worked great because, although we ... have been 7 o'clock in the morning in the hotel was immediately a room provided. In the morning we left the possibility for breakfast, although the restaurant actually was still closed! Conclusion for a short stay in kuala lumpur exactly the right hotel. read more

We stayed here for short 2 nights, because outside of kuala lumpur everything because of the holidays (chinese new year) was fully booked. For a last minute booking (about 15 hours before arrival) directly through the web site of the hotel was the price from 70 € a night without breakfast really okay.
Per:
+ location, very central, close to the monorail
+ free parking in the underground garage
+ huge room
+ pool
Negative:
- the furnishing seemed a bit aged, could urgently a renovation need
- the rooms may still be cleaned better (spots of spilled tea on ... the floor with the cleaning of the room not cleaned up; furthermore, the mattress stains, whose origins we do not worry about want)
- service could have been better (as we at the front desk pointed out, that the flush nachläuft, came the question, whether this will actually should be repaired.)
Tip for eating nearby: directly behind the entrance to the underground car park are several restaurants, we want especially the indian- malaische restaurant right next to the entrance to recommend, very delicious naanbrote and roti! read more

The hotel there is a boarding school. Audience visited. At the time of our stay were guests the Arab states and Asian countries clearly in the majority. The Luxusflair of the hotel suffers through the partially for us Europeans not familiar behavior some of these guests, whether in the restaurant, at the bar or by the very lively brute behavior by the pool or at night in the halls. This also applied to the US inhabited Club floor with not straight reasonably priced rooms where the kids then for playing evenings in the corridors were sent. Also in the clublounge ... the afternoon and evening free of charge excellent snacks and pastry, as well as a good selection of drinks offered was rather refined atmosphere by the lively behavior whole extended families the despair of the very hard-working Angestelltn of the hotel pretty Discombobulated.
Despite all the hotel is very recommendable there the service, the breakfast buffet, the sports bar, the pool, the furnishing of the rooms in the ' club floor and the very central location really good.
The prices in the hotel for beverages and food are great but hotel standard adequate. You do not need to in the hotel remain, as it in the immediate area more than enough preiwertere possibilities gives. Recommendable also during the day a tour (one or two blocks ) around the hotel there are restaurants, shops and market stalls selling fruit and great asian food for little money. Stay away from the hotel taxis, way too expensive. The best at the next corner Metertaxi beckon and for little money well everywhere come. read more

the hotel Istana is a large city hotel with about 500 rooms. The hotel is a bit ' years' old, but in a good and clean condition.
the audience is international. The reception in the hotel was exceptionally friendly. We can without problems already at 9:00 o'clock in the morning our room relate.

The hotel captivates still from the outside through its majestic architecture. There are totally 515 hotel room and suites. Because of our repetitive, earlier stays, we decided a club suite. There is the breakfast of course in the club lounge included. Bay you get a room in the club floor category is the access to the lounge the whole day through possible, in the afternoon is afternoon tea is served, in the evening there was next to Apérohäppchen also alcoholic beverages free. The Istana has an internationally mixed guest structure. The hotel is more on business people set. read more

the hotel has a very central location. In the immediate area were very lots of restaurants and options for shopping. Many sights are on foot to reach. Apart from that is located right on the hotel A monorail station.
You can tell the hotel but the age, however I felt the hotel and the rooms as appropriately cleanly. The furnishings the room was all right.
the breakfast buffet was very varied, however for a Europeans took some getting used to. The rolls or bread I didn't so good tasted and also the coffee was not the best.
very positive I ... the service felt, since attempted has any desire to be. read more

Great hotel. Particularly has us fallen:
-The huge breakfast
-That the breakfast outside in a beautiful garden could eat
-The pool
-The location right next to the pool, from where you could make great things, but also to foot one could take directly and was in a nice area.
-The wonderful ambience of the hotel
Less great was only, that we for three people (1 child) had booked, but an extra bed then cost extra. We have agreed, then us, that we had a baby crib without our son and six years has slept on the mattress.
Price/performance ratio was ... altogether genuinly great. We would go again on each case to the Istana, we would love to go again to KL.
KL has surprised us positive, we were only on the through journey after Bali here. It is beautifully green, very nice people everywhere, the very good speak english (for example, I. V. to Bangkok) and also for children nice excursions possible:
Hop on hop off bus-nice dip, but we were only on a Tuesday afternoon stood in a traffic jam
Shopping Center time Square right next to the pool with the huge roller coaster Park. It is also good bargain here. In contrast to most other shopping center the more upscale (Lot 10, klcc, etc.)
Great is also the Batu cave. We are with the taxi drove.
Food outside of the hotel. Output of the hotel right in the main street, relatively directly afterwards a Thai comes with very good food.
From the hotel out, left at the hotel along this road are in some tourist places.
Massages, etc. in KL very expensive. read more

A really nice hotel with a great pool and a great breakfast, a beautiful garden in the one can eat, the room clean and quiet and completely blacked out (beautiful with jet lag). The water pressure in the shower fabulous. In a short distance to the Petrona towers, with the taxi to the Petaling street about 20 to 25 MYR. We would choose this hotel again.
Negative: the prices of the lounge and bar are high, you can but on restaurants in the area, seven, eleven or supermarkets avoid ☺ read more

It are better hotels, but for a stopover absolutely super, the staff was, as always in Kuala Lumpur extremely friendly and helpful. If you are flying at night, one has the possibility in almost every hotel and store the luggage in the SPA or the pool area to shower, a little note there! Otherwise this hotel is meant, that according to the manager, was opened in 1994, needed to be overtaken general, as also the pool, was very shabby and partly broken was the. The room were large (suite), it is not a smoking room! For every cigarette you must ... leave other hotel. These few smokers this world for the! Otherwise for stays of recommended two to three days! read more
