Very nice hotel. Excellent location just a short walk or taxi ride to  Khersonissos town. The hotel & grounds are kept very clean & well maintained. The rooms are of good quality and the maids kept them very clean. The restaurants are offer an excellent choice of food. Good selection of drinks. The staff were helpful  and the sea was lovely. The animation team worked really hard, but were not intrusive and did not try to bully us into joining in with activities. Highly recommend the hotel. You will have a lot of fun here!! We have visited this hotel on more than 10 occasions and have never failed to be impressed. A warmth of welcome from the reception staff who have a knowledge of your requirements,and also the same friendliness in the restaurants and all staff .Nice food in a pleasant ambiance and lovely grounds all around.Superb cleanliness --and lovely sea views .All in all excellent destination which we would thoroughly recommend. read more

We drive gladly every year to this hotel again. It is very spacious with a beautiful garden area and with a lot of bungalows. It lies directly at the beach; on foot you can relax to next large town, in case you evenings somewhat undertake want. In the two related restaurants you can also very good food, if you away from the hustle in the main restaurant want to miss, which we usually did. We will next year surely again there! The main restaurant after the renovation not very user friendly as it very a mensa reminds. The arrangement of the different selection of dishes is not very clear and requires long ways to the individual meals. The other restaurants on the grounds are very good, both in the atmosphere, as well as in the selection of dishes and in the service. read more

Very nice generous plant, quality construction, very good condition. Tasteful, well-kept grounds. Booked all-inclusive, the food was okay, is however not a 5-star level. Were mostly the vacationers mostly families with smaller (preschool) children. Who not a problem with 80% russian guests, there is a beautiful area. You should be good understanding of the english language, since even staff almost didn't speak any german. read more

    Four places plus bar, food in the main building was not a 5 star food, but reasonable. Missed some variation of the food. Cleanliness is in the restaurant largely written. Very good. Kitchen style typical for the country. Pleasant atmosphere.

    Staff always very! Friendly and accommodating. But little to no german. The cleaning of the rooms was done well. Child services was available. During the day animation and in the evenings very nice kids disco. Entertainment made a lot of effort! Children, as well as parents had have fun.

    Lots of possibilities for exercising, great entertainment, a praise goes to Uschi! And all the other entertainers. Very nice pool with salt water, nice shower, sufficient beach chairs. Fantastic beach, but lack of showers, partly stones in the water, plenty of pool chairs available. Sometimes of seaweed washed ashore (depending on the weather and wind). Umbrellas and beach chairs without fee.

Staff were all very welcoming from the reception to the bar and restaurants. Animation team were fantastic!!! Hotel in good condition in all public areas, rooms clean and fully air conditioned. Animation team provide a wide variety of optional daytime activities and great evening shows. Every member of the animation team added to the enjoyment of the holiday. Frank, one of the funniest blokes you will ever meet!... Beach was a couple of minutes’ walk from the room and had a bar located very close with food and drink available. Plenty of different breakfast and dinners in the main restaurant. read more

    The entertainment is the best I have ever been to the animation team made its so fun they work so hard and appreciated every thing they did, every show and mini disco we went to was very entertaining and enjoyable, the water gym and water polo I enjoyed and it was the animation team that made all the entertainment fun and enjoyable. Also my little boy loved the water slide.

Aldemar Knossos royal village: ideal for families with small and infants (mini and junior Club). Nothing for singles, on potential partners are. Beautiful bungalows and garden-complex. About 80% of the guests were Russians or other East countries, which however all in the restaurant and at the beach absolutely exemplary behaved. That was probably also because, that predominantly young couples with infants was, which also early to bed went. In the main restaurant with buffet, for the mostly' all inclusive' guests, the masses best processed. The food was good, however almost always the same selection, only small plates. The staff always ... very friendly. Also the entertainers were always very motivated and have a funny program for each age group offered. In the beach bar-restaurant ( lunch ) the staff were eTAs unaufreksan. You will be often only after 20 minutes absolutely first served, although the staff constant in 'movement' is. For this the food was there was excellent. Overall impression: 90 of 100 points. read more

    We stayed in Villa Pasiphae 7 which had a main bedroom, large bathroom and two single beds in the lounge area along with a table / chairs. Lovely spacious balcony overlooking a beautiful private pool. Room was very clean, and towels changed / beds made daily by maid. Our villa was a couple of minutes walk from either the main hotel centre or the beach.

    It was our first time staying in 'all inclusive' but we found plenty of options for eating & drinking in the hotel! Breakfast & dinner served in the main restaurant with lots of choice of food to keep both us & our children very happy. Head Chef P. served some of the speciality dishes, and also gave an entertaining greek cooking lesson preparing & serving a beautiful Greek Salmon dish. He has won several gastronomy awards and it shows in the quality of his food & attention to detail, obviously being passed on to the rest of his staff. We visited the snack bar for lunch which has varying dishes along with usual salad, rices etc.

    Excellent service in all parts of hotel- a special mention to Giorgos M. (Maitre for Restaurant) who looked after us superbly during our stay, greeting us upon entering the restaurant & ensuring each visit was enjoyable. He made us feel really special, always ensuring there was a table for us. Our waitress for most of our stay was Victoria, whose service each visit was 5 star, both from a food service perspective & also chatting to us about the local area etc. During the day the pool bar is open - we got talking to the two ladies who run the bar, who were both lovely & friendly.

    What would have already been a great holiday, was made into an absolutely fantastic holiday by the Animation Team, led by M. & R. Our two children worshipped them and we all grew to love them all & their style very quickly. My wife & I both looked forward to our morning "Zi Zi Zi water gym" and then the afternoon cry of "Za Za Za Aerobica". The Animation team hit the right mix of entertainment in the morning & afternoons around the pool. The team were so friendly walking around the pool talking to all guests, we quickly felt part of the animation family! They were all so professional, and their dedication to their job was evident from the first moment we met them. Hope the hotel management realises what an asset they are to the hotel! Their shows were excellent in the amphitheatre in the evenings, our favourites being the 'fire show' & 'I love musicals'. The team put in so much effort, preparing their show, the amphitheatre setting & then after the show practising for the next night! No wonder they say "Knossos never sleeps"! Guys, thank you so much - you made our holiday!

    The main restaurant offers an excellent variety in buffet style. We were certainly never of a view that food wa repetitive. There wa usually a show chef in the main restaurant each day, and theme nights a few times a week - sushi, Italian, Greek etc.. There are two a la carte restaurants on site too which all inclusive guests can try once each per holiday. These are very good. The main bar usually has live musician the evening and is now only open in the evening. During the day there is a beach bar, and for lunch time a snack bar.

    The hotel staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, and will make sure your stay is as good as it can be. Two guest relations are generally on duty and available. Kelly who joined this year welcomed us and helped us with all our questions and needs throughout our stay. Rooms are cleaned well and daily. The whole hotel is cleaned and tidied by a hidden army staff who are up early to ensure pool areas are clean and tidy. We were hugely impressed that all the staff were constantly cheerful, no matter how hot or busy they were and got to know many of them well. We have known a waitress called 'Fani' now for many years and consider her as I am sure many others do as our friend at the main restaurant. A special mention for the manager Michael Gasparis who hosts repeaters cocktail parties, and was always around experiencing the facilities as the guests would, to make sure all was operating smoothly. We enjoyed sharing our thoughts and experiences of entertainment and facilities with him through the holiday.

    A team of 16 animators tirelessly organise entertainment of a sporting nature during the day - bocchia, beach volley, darts etc. - and run mini and junior clubs. in the evening they put on Mini discos and shows. The animators have a level of enthusiasm and energy that amazes. We did not get to know all of them, but played bocchia with Frederico, Darius, and George - thaks guys - and met some really great competitors from Russia, Italy and France. There are two main pools which are both large. One has a water slide. Sea front rooms - and we were in one this year - had private pools for a block of rooms.

    This was our fifth visit to the Knossos Royal spanning 2000 to 2012 and we have happy memories of each and every one. "5 visits" should be testament in itself of this hotel's virtues as a holiday destination!

    It has an expansive coastline - it is 'on the beach' and has much the best location of all the hotels in this area. It is close to Hersonissos being about a 20 minute walk along the beach road or an 8 euro taxi ride. If you walk you'll pass some lovely small public beaches, smaller hotels, shops and bars as you go. there is a supermarket right outside the entrance and a bar/restaurant (we did not go to eat being all inclusive). A sheltered bay lies to the right of the hotel, popular for snorkelling and diving, and attracts many boats of the goass bottomed variety on sighteeing trips.

    Delicious food with wide variety of choice. Particularly loved the main restaurant, pool bar and beach bar and really enjoyed the traditional Greek food such as the delicious stuffed peppers and artichoke, tzatziki and baklava. Chef Petros cooked the most delicious tender lamb for my birthday meal and prepared a beautiful and scrumptious birthday cake.

    Couldn't fault the service in any way! The staff always went out of their way to be helpful. George, the food and drinks manager, meticulously planned an utterly perfect surprise birthday meal by the sea. Kelly on customer relations was always so helpful. The staff played a huge part in ensuring an absolutely lovely holiday!

    Wide range of activities every day both in and around the pool. Animation team were very enthusiastic and friendly - especially Fabio. The evening show was entertaining and we loved the beach party with fire dancing. The pool was large and finding a sunbed wasn't usually a problem

Crete is paradise and Knossos Royal is the place to be.This is the sixth time we go there and we have not yet enough. What to say ? The rooms are nice, the food is varied and fresh, the animation team is very professional, the guests relation are very pretty and helpful. All managers and staff are very friendly and always ready for you. Something wrong ? Tell it and it will be fixed. One thing is sure.we are planning our next september holidays in this hotel and we are already looking forward to going back. We know ... that as usual we 'll spend there memorable moments and we 'll meet friends of june and years before. It's a big family. Do you know the Greek hospitality ?
