Good hotel with a few drawbacks

All in all, you can recommend the hotel for those on a city break, if you are on a rich breakfast and friendly staff can do without.
The hotel is located on a small hill and you can see it from San Gimignano good. The walk away to the city is in for a quick but far to dinner or a final stroll through town, so you can better on a the parking (from 1 euro per 1h).
When we arrived at the hotel was of us a rather bad english speaking receptionist and handed the key and nothing about ... breakfast, restaurant, spa or the like explained. We felt very welcome us also not.
The room are very tidy, clean and have a standard room size. The bathroom was very well maintained (all refurbished).
The buffet breakfast has not too much choice, but you could always find something. Standard: three different types of sausage, eggs, various pastries, cheese, cereal, fruit, desserts (mostly donuts). Coffee enjoyable-not more, not less.
To conclude: 'free SpA costs 20 per day and per person'> we find, should be the included in the price, for two hours 20, we us not the wanted to make.

In this hotel everything has actually. We travel a lot and never regularly but we have such an unfriendly, Unmotivated and also unfortunately partly disfunctional service staff at the reception and in the breakfast area experienced. Also our ability to speak Italian to has it not better made. The pure mach' are women, and the concierge was very nice... read more

The room was sufficiently large and furnished. We had our room at the back and this had a small balcony with a beautiful view over the Tuscany.
The breakfast buffet was very versatile, the quality was good and has us well tasted. The service was always friendly and it was quickly refilled, when something was missing.
The pool is large and has a lawn with several lounge chairs. During our stay were to no time all pool chairs were occupied.
In the evening it was the possibility to eat in the restaurant. However, the map was rather small. The quality ... of the food was very good, however. Also the open wine was good, in the restaurant (also without ordering a meal) can get, as in the rest of also other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages not. read more

The staff spoke only english (we had on our trip four units, anywhere else they tried at least something German to speak or to understand). The room are big, but sparsely furnished. It was only 1 chair. On the balcony were two uncomfortable iron chairs without cushions. The balconies were in line and you could hear the neighbors left and right each floor. The bathroom was so divided, that the door at the shower partition was if you opened. Counter space for cosmetics were rare. At breakfast we sat in a large capacity restaurant no ambiance with about three or ... four other couples. The service was never the face a laugh on the fit. Fortunately, set on the second morning outside and you could also from there on the towers of San Gimignano. It was in the evening no bar or similar. So we had to walk either to the two kilometer away, or take the car. read more
