+ The rooms of the hotel were kept clean by the staff properly. Throughout the night, the hotel area to the sea-side very brightly lit at night, it means that closed on the furniture on the bars and restaurants and these people retreat loudly behavior. - The a/c is too noisy and would not be advisable to use if you want to go to bed. - Fridge does continuously on full blast. Obviously the heat congested at the back because the machine is weirdly places in a closet without heat-to-& left is installed.

- The hot food at the buffet was very often cold. - The food going to be late refilled, if at all, another waiter would help. - It will be reserved tables for the guests anyway although their number is too small.

- The extra costs for renting the safe is with 25 , - € extortionate! + Complained flaws was fixed immediately by the staff.

There is no own pool only a small indoor pool, viewable from Restaurantbesuchern, never saw someone swim. Showers on the beach. The bar area of the hotel is very big, with many leather armchairs and with a large TV on the constant football, specifically designed for the English guests running. However, we hardly any guests sit see most people at night in the old town.

+ The cleanliness within the hotel and the grounds was ok - the area with the game tables was oversized in size and there wasn't visited by the guests. next door is the dining room. - The dining room in which the guests at breakfast and dinner was greatly take part in small! The hotel is right on the beach, which offers no shade without an umbrella. Beach chairs and umbrellas were every day or dismantled and had to be paid extra. They didn't seem too clean on us, so we bought for 9.00 EUR an umbrella and bought us a free beach chair on the beach we were looking for. The sea was in our first week was warm, was built in the second week but always colder. Except one day sprinkle we always had hot sunny weather. The nearest "Fisherman's Beach" can book boat trips to the Felsengrotten, 1 hour for 15 EUR, is quite interesting and fun. From the beach you could go through the tunnel to the old town. From the hotel to gastronomy "Sol e Mar" it is just like service rather 3 star as 4 stars, but considering the price-performance ratio is fine.

Sol e Mar Hotel """" is one of the oldest hotels in Albufeira and is located in absolutely best beach location of all the hotels in Albufeira. Hotel "Sol e Mar" is situated directly on the cliffs, so the reception on the 4th 1/2 floor convenient seen from the street hotel-ground floor. To the sandy beach can be reached by the elevator or steps right on restaurant terrace level. From the terrace is through, tunnel'' directly in the old town of Albufeira. Despite the age is hotel ""Sol e Mar"" in some measuring good condition, oh well the outside new plasterwork and paint does not hurt. Since it was a small and older hotel is certainly not accommodate with new and more modern hotels but hotel "Sol e Mar" offers still have an enjoyable charm.

As mentioned in other reviews stated is the hotel location was optimal. Everything is located in the immediate area and within walking distance. At the guests structure is seasonal a bit older guests in the majority but this is not negative. This hotel is less suitable for children as there is no gaming.

The facilities in the room were functional (double bed, sofa, large refrigerator, air-conditioning, TV (RTL, SAT 1 , Pro 7 , Viva) ) and in good condition. All the rooms in the hotel had a balcony and sea view. We had a room at the top and consequently, a magnificent view over of the Atlantic. Despite the hustle and bustle in Albufeira our room was very quiet.

The hotel has a buffet restaurant and a bar for the visitors with catering (booked category: half board) with an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean! We have already experienced larger buffets, but the choice and quality was fine. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The cuisine in the evening often changed, that means there was a thematic buffet (Portuguese, Spanish, German etc. ). In addition there was an a la carte restaurant and two snack bars in between meals on the ground floor.

Most of the staff spoke German and/or English. The staff was always friendly. The rooms were cleaned every day.

There were several theme nights in the hotel bar, which, however, we didn't visit as in the center of Albufeira old town enough los (see location and setting, advise). The sandy beach right outside the hotel, you could easily access it across the private elevator. It was very clean (daily morning cleaning), beach chairs and umbrellas were sufficiently available. The Atlantic was very cold ... . The hotel has an indoor pool, which due to it's great beach location but we didn't use it.

The "Sol e Mar" is a city hotel with a great location - quiet and noisy alike. It was in a neat and clean condition. In our travel time (end of july/beginning of August) this hotel was the Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, a few English and German guests. The average age was mostly rather high.

Quiet and noisy same time? The hotel is located right next to the old town of Albufeira, that means you walk out the front desk out and fall directly in the Feiermetropole the region. Where you can in the countless disco pubs dance the night away. And the nice thing is that the hotel is right on the sea front and all rooms facing the sea, which is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of cannot be heard and, if you don't feel like going to celebrate, the peace with a nice glass of port. Excursion possibilities were for the certain change generous offer. We have a drive to Lisbon, a Algarven-tour until the last bratwurst prior to America and a boat trip along the coast (with grottos) and didn't regret it.

If you consider the advanced age of the whole area, the rooms were just average. The bathroom was a bit run down (incl. The usual Schimmelfugen unfortunately more often in hotels of this category ... ). The mattresses were way too hard for our tastes (every morning we woke up with back pain). The Good: Great view of sea, satellite-TV with international channels. The biggest shortcoming: Partly worst drain smell in the room, but we also elsewhere (in a bar on the hillside) will have noticed. Is probably because of the location on the hill ?! ? should be old-line phones's fault, the operator will respond quickly him a long view the guests staying out, I'm afraid.

We had booked half-board. The breakfast was OK The coffee from the machine and the Fertigsäfte rather below average, but substantial buffet with sausage, cheese, cereals, etc…very catered for the English (beans and sausages, well, if you like it ... ).

The service was rather mediocre. Sometimes you can drink at night, if you had the plate was empty, it could have been faster. Two people for the whole service were just not enough. A wait staff more would certainly.

The hotel was already a bit older, a new basic furnishings could definitely didn't hurt. The cleanliness was OK The average age was between 50-60 , mainly English, rest mixed (Dutch German, etc. )

The location is the real highlight. right on the beach, and decking direct access to it center, whereas you from the evening crush in the rooms do not have to deal with. The parking is limited. We had our hire car usually parked about 500 meters from the hotel.

Rooms have a TV, refrigerator, telephone, air conditioning and safe well appointed, have a decent size and a balcony with a magnificent view of the sea. You will thoroughly cleaned and towels were changed daily. Except for the sometimes very loud sound of the Atlantic is very quiet at night and you will get a nice sleep.

The restaurant was very well-kept and clean and the buffet is something for every taste. The breakfast with hot items is more geared toward the English guests but a couple of sorts of sausage, cheese and jam. At dinner there is always delicious fish and local meat (for example chicken Piri Piri), also many tasty salads, crispy vegetables and side dishes like chips, pasta and rice. The dessert always consists of a large number of desserts. The table one could choose your own, some with sea views and you always got a table which was in some other hotels. The drinks are served by prior arrangement and you paid upon exiting with leftovers is for the next night. The prices were very moderate.

The staff is very helpful and friendly, rooms are cleaned daily really good and on the eve an excursion there is a pack for the next day. With the German language is by but some knowledge of English is an advantage.

At first glance the hotel from the outside looks rather plain and simple, probably because it was built in the 1960s. But it is very nice inside, cozy and it is shining than would be cleaned several times during the day. Like most in Albufeira is also the "Sol e Mar" almost in the hands of the English but that is not a disadvantage because the communication with each other is very friendly. The guests are on average a bit older.

In all the years we had no hotel in relation location our expectations so was like the "Sol e Mar". The location of the hotel is so great. The side with the rooms are located directly at the beach and has an incredible view of the bay and the ocean, on the other side, the enterance when you go to a few steps away from the old town, with its pretty streets, bars, restaurants and shops.
