Best location for city and beach. Direct sea view ( with constant sound of the sea). Wonderful spaziergäng from the hotel along the coast possible ( by taxi back, as it is very bad bus connections). Old town with beautiful and reasonably priced restaurants on the doorstep ( about 11 €for menu with soup, main course, dessert and house wine or better fish dishes about 10, -€). Room and bathroom pleasant large, in detail a bit shabby or old, however clean. Breakfast directed towards the English guests, moderate 3-star -quality ( cheaper dispenser juice, disastrous sausage, mushrooms from the can ..., hardly any fresh fruit, two sorts of einfachmarmalade, cheapest croissants, however very good selection of bread, toast, muesli, eggs, yoghurt etc. good coffee; you didn't starve ); direct sea view.
In our opinion the top tip for the low season. Since no garden etc. Nothing for the peak season. The swimming pool one can give oneself. read more

The hotel is not very modern but everything is in good condition and clean. The rooms are spacious and very peaceful, however is the sound of the waves to hear constantly. A fantastic view with a view of the sea! Beautiful! The beds were very comfortable. The food was okay. We have our stay very enjoyed. read more

The hotel lies brilliant at the old town from Albufeira. Parking for the car also find in the area. Unfortunately, at the hotel a bit off, the closets in the rooms need are coated, new carpets and so on it was the price but unbeatable book and at this great location.
The hotel is rather directed towards the English guests, accordingly is also the breakfast. For Portuguese standards, but not at all bad. We only booked with breakfast, what you in Portugal always do, since there are sufficient good and inexpensive restaurants gives. read more

No 4-star!

The great country and the great weather were Lichblicke of our vacation-not the hotel!
If the a 4-star hotel is, then I am the Pope:
-Handicapped breakfast (bad quality, no selection, no variation)-> breakfast hardly used
-We have cocktails and the glasses in the room to leave, we had the bar itself in the then-> including housekeeping is it?
-The reception was from the first to the last day unfriendly.
Despite a great location with direct beach access, it was no services (pool chairs, umbrellas, beach towels).-> also the is for me not 4 star service.
At check-out (12 ... hours) has offered us one to pick (3:10 P.M.) no room to shower. The room I've never seen that.-> so we had to walk three hours 'pointless 'by the city, rather than to enjoy a few hours of sunshine on the beach.
So, unfortunately not recommend. read more

A good basic Hotel in an excellent location. panel in consideration of British guests one could have this hotel also doubles as an "location idyllic and peaceful,"". sadly there were always misunderstandings between the British and eurotouristen, but no reason this hotel would not recommend this hotel to others.
We love the British and all attitudes only at self-contained singing opinions vary.
We like English people and their way of life, but singing in the early in the morning. Opionion different we get there" read more

By the perfect location to the beach and nightlife of Albufeira you can see the rather aged, but clean, rooms and a bit deterrent sanctions in the exterior aspect of the hotels very quickly and finds everything just great. Recommendation: only bed and breakfast (even for maybe you have to go without, but it's more convenient: -) ) book. After about 2 min walk teaming with eating possibilities. Bad luck you have only once you have a rental car because in the immediate surroundings lack of self-parking. The 3 -4 own are mostly occupied. Better rent a scooter (approximately 50€ ... for 3 days) and right in front of the hotel parking -) read more

+ The cleanliness within the hotel and the grounds was ok - the area with the game tables was oversized in size and there wasn't visited by the guests. next door is the dining room. - The dining room in which the guests at breakfast and dinner was greatly take part in small! Between the tables and the buffet push the guests manouver. - The chairs in the dining room when moving very loud noises. - attached to the hotel bars and restaurants on the beach: "flying" vendors and Spielleute bother the guests of working staff will not been turned ... away. read more

Sol e Mar Hotel """" is one of the oldest hotels in Albufeira and is located in absolutely best beach location of all the hotels in Albufeira. Hotel "Sol e Mar" is situated directly on the cliffs, so the reception on the 4th 1/2 floor convenient seen from the street hotel-ground floor. To the sandy beach can be reached by the elevator or steps right on restaurant terrace level. From the terrace is through, tunnel'' directly in the old town of Albufeira. Despite the age is hotel ""Sol e Mar"" in some measuring good condition, oh well the outside new ... plasterwork and paint does not hurt. Since it was a small and older hotel is certainly not accommodate with new and more modern hotels but hotel "Sol e Mar" offers still have an enjoyable charm. read more

This hotel lives up to its 4 * almost exclusively through its location / view deserves. Just like already mentioned, is the entrance to the hotel directly at the beginning of the old town. The rooms and balconies are all with a direct view of the sea. Sensational. The room furnishing and balcony furnishing. (plastic) is rather simple and certainly not worth the 4 star rating. Hotel bar looks nice, but is, or the few people who are as evenings enjoying it, had clearly retired people already reached! (But not bad, Albufeira offers enough). The staff is professional friendly but ... not overly friendly. They didn't speak German. The breakfast is very much geared to the mainly English tourists (fat streaming ceiling water leaks bacon, beans, chips, etc. ). It's worth getting up early (breakfast room was definitely not point 10:00 closed). The breakfast area itself had the faded charm of the 70 's But at least you there was hard, fast to clean the tables and again to prepare for the next guest. We didn't have dinner option. But you could easily and about the same prices as in Germany in the area. The old town of Albufeira is however, also here very on the English tourism. Great is the local along the cliffs toward the port (highly recommended the O' transparencies = fresh fish, very delicious). Otherwise you had to know that the local day and Abendpreise. Example: During the day one liter of sangria 10.00, and in the evening €15.00 €! That is what I call modern Raubrittertum! The beach is beautiful. (bright and fine sand). The bay is also for a small (about 30 min) walk. Tip: rent a car and the coast to Sagres, or visit einheimischer (mountains). Great!!! read more

Plus at this hotel is the top-location to the beach and to the old town. from the outside the hotel is actually not so nice and it outshines negative in the area (Old town). otherwise has a friendly atmosphere, the hotel is well run.
Bay no airport transfers with the hotel. (35€) we were 32° cramped into a van without air conditioning. a taxi is only 3€ more. read more

As written in other reviews, this hotel has a dream location. In the rooms, there's sound, gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean, the other side Albufeira old town with a lot going out, there are for every taste. Beach clean and fine sand, clean water, unfortunately only 17 degrees. Restaurant was clean and pleasant, breakfast was not so great (fries, fried beans, bacon, and so on) but better English. The dinner was varied, but not so tasty. Next time I would book without the meals, there were 1000 lots of opportunities for breakfast or lunch and dinner. The rates were ... not higher than at home and you the choice. Other than that, I would highly recommend the hotel (outside not nice, but everything else made up for it) read more

Location the hotel is right on the beach, every room has a view of the ocean it couldn't have been better and the city is less than 2 minutes walk condition: the hotel was in the 70 's style, very well maintained and clean room our room was very clean and was cleaned every day and fresh towels from the balcony has a nice view of the sea and beach food breakfast was very very English, every morning bacon, fried eggs (in the change scrambled eggs), boiled tomatoes/ mushrooms, 1 sort of sausage (always the same) and one sort of ... cheese, jam, rolls, fruit salad dinner, however, was always very delicious and varied, there was something for every taste (buffet) dessert: a matter of taste, very sweet cakes beach was cleaned every day, beach chairs But relation expensive, the beach was very nice! In conclusion: We would stay there again, was a really great holiday!!! read more

At first glance the hotel from the outside looks rather plain and simple, probably because it was built in the 1960s. But it is very nice inside, cozy and it is shining than would be cleaned several times during the day. Like most in Albufeira is also the "Sol e Mar" almost in the hands of the English but that is not a disadvantage because the communication with each other is very friendly. The guests are on average a bit older. read more
