Very suitable for a city break to Dublin. The hotel is centrally located north of Liffey - 15 minutes on foot to Temple bar and 'connell bridge, on the red line of the luas (tram) it is just a stone's throw. The old Jameson Distillery is also only a couple of minutes away. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. In the hotel you get a good and extensive irish breakfast-the ideal start to a busy day! read more

Well-maintained hotel ( the 'maldron' -hotel row Dublin) in the middle of Smithfield village, a residential area with modern apartments. Room and bathroom clean, towels were always changed, tea& coffee refilled. Very safe. Tram in 5 minutes reachable, supermarket with good products next to the hotel. It is worthwhile also a view of the old pubs in the area. Barracks fast reachable, Jameson distillery to opposite. read more

Hotel is located just west of the city center and with the tram in 10 minutes from there to reach. It is located on a newly created very modern place in a quarter, a modernisation process is in, opposite whisky distillery is the Jameson. The area is still very different: very neglected. Houses, partially new spacious Apprtementblocks. No traffic noise, so different than most hotels in the middle of the city.

The hotel lies somewhat aside of the action, without the guests but long walk to the shopping or the pub-live have to cover. The front desk at check in the lady behind the counter was a bit chilly, but this was by the very nice and extremely courteous behavior on the part of the lady at check-out again. The construction in front of the house on the square (Smithfield) left the environment only imagine. But as already mentioned, we could also say, that just around the corner in the evening the outpatient homeless- Notfallklinik park and experienced demand. Or we ... were panhandled at any time. The breakfast in the hotel is at the usual time with sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, and beans laid out, but there were also some cereal and such at the buffet. At the time of our stay there was a 3-course-no Christmas meal was offered to the narrow price, which was also very tasty pointing to delicious. The furnishing in the dining room I found a bit too factual and plain. The room made a worn impression. The double bed was off to the side rails and openly screwed together, the mattresses were worn, a third bed in the room and took just square. The request for an additional blanket outright immediately complied. The carpet in the room had the one or the other holey on, where clear sites of furniture were recognizable. A safe, German speaking TV channels and Wi-Fi reception you are looking for in each room in vain. The Herbststurm whistled between windows and the framework and always kept the room on the fridge level( is however definitely only to see seasonal). In the bathroom were two lamps and the water in the sink only very slowly. ('we cleaned the tubes after every guest' -exactly blink- zwinkwer * *). The 'Connell street is about ten minutes, the pub 'the brazen head' about seven minutes, to the Guinness brewery is about 15 minutes, to Temple bar about 20 minutes and Grafton street are only a few minutes walk. The Jameson distillery is located near in visibility the tourist bus stop is the green after few meters and reached two blocks away. The hotel is suitable for short get aways go to Dublin, if you are willing, its claims to be home. read more

The maldron hotel is located just five minutes footpath from the LUAS stop Smithfield and into the city about 15 to 20 minutes it footpath. The check-in and check-out went well without problems. The staff was very friendly and reacted with complaints very friendly. Since with us in the room the tv didn't work, because they had a problem with the tv box has offered us a free breakfast when we left. What we really have more than happy to accept. The breakfast was typical Irish and there was little choice for people from Germany and other countries and the ... Irish breakfast do not like. I think that is a great shame that in the hotel there were many German. The hotel room was okay in size and clean. Apart from the stains on the carpet. The curtain rod from the balcony door was bent and the curtains hanging not right in it. But you pulled and that was the important days. The bed was getting old and squeaked huge, but it was good inside. The bathtub was not the best and you had the feeling that if you got it at the vibration and out you had to watch out that you don't slip, as they are very high. In large and whole the hotel was great and we would definitely recommend it. read more

the hotel is ideal as a place to go out for a stay suitable in Dublin. The city center is fast on foot -public. Transport are but also in the immediate proximity. The staff are friendly and lank. English is a must! (but adequate). I would recommend a meal in the hotel small Italian restaurant in the immediate proximity (Peppe)- was very tasty and price ok! Travel from the airport to hotel 20 euros. In order to avoid the annoying change with the public. Means of transport. Dublin is worth a visit and with this hotel you can't go wrong ... here! read more

We were there at the beginning of October 2010 in Dublin and in this hotel for 4 nights. The value for money was just great! The nights were not expensive, for the proportions in Dublin it was really cheap! the hotel lies very centrally located, 15 minutes we were in in the city center from Dublin, on foot everything was great! Breakfast we have not booked (had about 13 euros per person cost), next door is a supermarket, because we in the morning always what for breakfast in/Out privileges! the building is very modern, the staff at the front desk ... really friendly and informative tips for excursions regards! the rooms are just great-large, bright and very, very clean-almost luxurious! We had even 2 beds, a double bed and a smaller bed, so that we could have easily slept three in the room! Also the bathroom and the cleanliness - just great! More but we didn't use it! all together: a great city hotel, inexpensive, but nevertheless centrally located! Very recommendable! ☺ read more

A predefined: We per room without breakfast 55, - Euro's, an absolute bargain price for the expensive Dublin. The rooms are extremely large, with a third bed and everything we needed. It is a great place to explore the city, as you about ten minutes walk to Temple Bar and about three minutes by the light rail (1 minutes from hotel) need. We noted, however, that at later hours do take a taxi from Temple bar to the hotel should be, as in that part of town then about the busy in Germany in the village and very many hadda ... and beggars wandering around us within 2 days hasseled about zig-times and money. Other than that, I would the choice of organic grocery store right next door and the Early Bird menu (2 or 3 -course menu in restaurants between 5 PM and 7 pm) recommend, as mentioned above, Dublin is a very expensive city. read more

With the streetcar, which keeps direct at the Smithfield, one is in 3-5 minutes in the town center, to foot needs one about 15 minutes. More beautifully, more modern and well equipped supermarket is equal beside the hotel. The Smithfield lies directly beside the Jameson Distillerie, is however quite calm… One can sleep at night thus well.

Good hotel in Dublin for little money. Dublin is supposed to be with the most expensive city in the world. For the price it is currently seems to be special. ( This was most welcome in the restaurant and Bierpreisen contrary - for example a glass of beer 5 Euro ( pint) We have the double room with full English breakfast for 58 Euro per night per room. With HRS would have cost 69 euros per night without breakfast. So several vendors. Tip: Shortly before we were leaving the prices in the hotel again the booked tour operator check. Two ... days before our departure is the hotel again 15 Euro per night cheaper. The hotel is ok, clean, modern and has huge rooms. Free and wireless Internet access. The breakfast was included in the price. ( Otherwise it cost 10 Euro per person - English breakfast). It was plentiful and there was nothing to complain about. The location of the hotel is a bit off - but in about ten minutes walk one was in the center of town. A supermarket and some restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The transfer from the airport with a taxi is 21 euros. Duration transfer Dublin airport - hotel about 20 - 30 minutes. Here a link to transfer: http: Wavering www. Voltaireonline. Eu/visiter_dublin_all/arrivee. Php# The hotel is definitely stay here again!!! read more

The hotel had 7 floors and about 90 rooms. The lobby was bright and friendly, just behind the dining room with bar.The breakast was not included in the hotel price, but could be booked on location. More details later. Lunch and dinner were also offered (either as 2 or 3-course menu or a la carte). The guests were mainly from Great Britain, some from Germany, too. read more

In the room we deducted two points for drawbacks. The first impression was very good: size ok, balcony available, bathroom fine, iron and ironing board and water heater for tea and coffee, TV, telephone available. No safe.At second glance, the furnishings appeared but a bit older. In the closet there were not any shelves but only clothes racks with only 6 hangers. In the bathroom the soap dispenser was no longer on the wall, but lay in the bathroom, the carpet had very many spots and our smoking room did not have an ashtray, but (something we had never seen) in front of the balcony was a sort of terrace with gravel that was used as an ashtray and trash can with extremely a large number of cigarette butts. Not a beautiful sight.

The hotel had a dining room with a "bar" inside. The food quality was fine. The breakfast consisted of:Orange juice, water, milk, coffee machine, bacon, eggs (boiled and scrambled), beans, black and white pudding, (liver sausage) hash browns, sausages, three kinds of cereal, three kinds packaged cheese, grapefruit, yogurt, toast, bread rolls, croissants. For lunch and dinner a-la-carte. We tried once - the size and taste was fine. 2 courses cost € 12, -, 3 courses € 15, -.The restaurant was very clean and there was never much happening, the speed and the service was also fine.

Th staff was very friendly. The check-in and check-out was smooth. However, already when we booked we already indicated that we wanted to eat breakfast (it was said at the time of booking, it cost €9,50 per person per day). Upon check-in we were then told that no reservation existed, but we could breakfast every morning for € 10 in advance or receive a voucher for €8 per person and day. These price differences confused us somewhat. If foreign language skills were present, we did not know because we completed everything in English. The room cleaning was ok. Once the cleaning lady had forgotten the floor hand towel, but otherwise the cleaning was in order.Laundry service was offered.

Whoever wanted a city hotel, which was a bit still, but was still centrally located, was exactly right here. With the Airlink bus (€ 6) it was about a 20 minute walk to Heuston Station, from there two stops with the Luas tram and one was already at the hotel.(With the normal 16A Dublin Bus although it cost just € 2.20, it took about 45-55 minutes to O'Connell street. To the tram (Luas), it was about 50 m to downtown, within 10 minutes walk. We walked most of the time or took the Dublin Bus tour, because they visited the main sight seeing attractions, and drove about every 10 minutes tact. With the other buses we our difficulties as they often did not come and it was difficult to understand the bus network. The oldest bar in Dublin, the Brazen Head was located just a short walk away from the hotel. The Jameson Whiskey Distillery was almost across the street (only through small yard and one was already there).

The Maldron is located in Smithfield, on the edge of the central Dublin. It is good to get to via tram, therefore, the easy access to the airport also no problem. The neighborhood Smithfield is rather difficult, the shopping center and the shops are mostly empty, there plenty of people on the streets and you get a little weird that such an area was empty. But so you have no problems at all. Our room was good good, modern decor, however there is no ac and it is quite warm at night in the room, because you can open the ... windows only spaltbreit. The bathroom was clean, there was no hair dryer. The room service was reasonably cleaned, but it could have been better. The breakfast was ok, one was full. But it is quite businesslike and unloving. There is full Irish breakfast, muesli, jam, toast, croissants. Ham and cheese in vain. The city center is within 15 mins walk to the Liffey along. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a short break, with the Approval numbers drawbacks recommend. You are only in the room for sleeping anyway hotel and for a short enjoy is in the afternoon you quickly. I can only recommend to book on the hotel's website, if you want to stay 2 or 3 nights you get there bargains. We had the room for 69€ a night and discounted breakfast. Was perfectly ok! read more

The rooms were well furnished with modern furniture. There was no air conditioner and the windows did not open. The bathroom was very large and also modern and clean. The hair dryer we discovered only after inquiry in the desk drawer. Hot water heater was available. There were no non smoking rooms and rooms and bed sheets all smelled strongly like smoke.

For 9 €, enjoy "Full Irish breakfast consisting of toast, croissants, eggs, beans, sausage, jam, yogurt and canned fruit. There was no sausage and cheese contrary to the description. Breakfast needed getting used to, but for the city tour at least something was in the stomach, and for Dublin conditions cheap prices. The sober atmosphere was like a business hotel.

Smithfield was a former working-class neighborhood north of the Liffey river, a less preferred location in Dublin. The Smithfield Plaza, where the hotel was located, was the former horse market and had undergone in recent years, a luxury renovation. There were modern flats and stores, from which (still?) many were empty. This gave a bit the impression of a ghost town. Opposite was the Jameson distillery and a shopping center. The surrounding area was pretty run down. There was a good bus connection to the airport and it was not far away from downtown. There were only a few parking places at the hotel at high prices, the police was very attentive and immediately gave a fine, or towed if the ticket was expired.
