Hotel Galle Fort^{(5 stars)}

Huge room with mezanine floor which contained the bedroom and four poster bed. This was the new wing ,but the original wing was just as good.

Food was superb,changed daily,traditional food served with a other eastern style cuisine Dining on the hotel verandah each night overlooking pool area.

This is five star as far as service goes as good or better than anywhere I have stayed in the world. Cleanliness is paramount, if you need any thing dne during the day just call the desk and they will organise it for you.

Pool area was great with sun beds, also easy walk to the beach area

We had a wonderful stay in this charming renovated Dutch colonial mansion. The rooms were enormous and tastefully furnished by the owners who went to a lot of trouble to ensure that the guest felt they were in a bygone era. The hotel was spotless with friendly effecient staff always hovering around keeping the place tidy and offering the guests any service they required. We had the half board (breakfast and diner included) and the menu was changed daily by the chef who was hand picked for his attention to detail and presentation and taste. There is a large foyer area at the entrance where you can relax and read and take in the ambience of the place. The hotel is situated more or less in the centre of the fort area so it is not far to walk to the fort ramparts or anywhere for that matter. My wife and I loved our stay here because of the way we were fussed over by the staff who were genuinely interested in who we were and where we came from,there was nothing they wouldn't do for us. If you come here you will be spoilt and not want to leave,it was like a home a way from home type of stay. If you want to stay in what I call a stainless steel hotel with all the trappings of the big city then don't stay here you won't find it, instead this boutique hotel offers the visitor a feeling that they are leaving friends when they check out.

Easy walking to beach, city and interesting colonial buildings. Daily excursions can bve arranged by the hotel supervisor at very good rates.
