The pestana promenade is a really new and modernly furnished hotel of Funchal, still on a cul-de-sac. However, the development the street already under way (currently no construction noise ): the building at the end the street later demolished and the road then as thoroughfare extended. There the hotel at the slope is built, is the entrance with foyer and reception at 7. floor. On the ground floor (floor '0') is the pool area, bar and restaurant, as well as the rooms with a terrace and thus ebenerdigem entrance to the pool area. The construction of the hotel is interesting ..., we found it however inconvenient, that many balconies partly visible from all sides are. The two elevators are too few, too small and too slow, best one takes the stairs. Wifi is free with front desk in the entire property, there are also two a bit elderly-pcs available. The password you got the front desk. The hotel is very attractive and decorated up to date, the courses are really dark. The seating in the bar and restaurant area are stylish, comfortable, they are definitely not. The restaurant reminded us from the decor rather of a cafeteria. read more

The rooms with parquet or wooden floors and carpet are spacious, very attractive and nicely furnished. The two twins' drift ' unfortunately again and again apart. The flat screen tv has about 100 programmes, of which 20 (!) German channels. There is an empty refrigerator for own things (very convenient) and a free safe-unfortunately empty j The bathroom has a window, which with a blind can be closed. That is also well like that, because the toilet is also in the bathroom and not seperate-as it then evenly practical would be. Through this window, you could from the tub from watch tv, the tone of the speakers in the bathroom turned on-but eventually they will stop the water cold j The bathroom is also quite large with hair dryer, bathtub (no shower) and bidet. There is shampoo, shower gel, soap and other items. The balcony with a table and two chairs and is very big, there was also enough space for a chair-that would have been nice. We had a room with a view of the sea in 2. floor with a blickgeschützten balcony. The rooms with direct view of the sea are to the pool side to the south. The pool side is very quiet, you do not hear just the gurgle of the pool, the sound of the ocean and a few birds twitter. Basically, there are no rooms with bad location. Unfavorably we find the rooms on the ground floor (because direct view of the pool-/ garden area into the room), and the restaurant/ bar area and possibly also to the outside to the street with the parking (steep slope and delivery traffic). A view of the ocean, or partial ocean view in every room. We were not satisfied with the room cleaning: - the dust under the bed and on the furniture came already from the time before our arrival - in the bathroom on the windows to the room was on the bottom edge clearly mold to see - on 2. day a cover at the armature the bathtub solved, i didn't more draufgekriegt and next door-was two days later still there. Afterwards i ate it next to the sink put, there remained it the rest of the two weeks... - also i have stayed in the first days by chance a kind feather/spring in the corner on the floor under the sink discovered-the was the whole two weeks... - general-at least our impression-rather superficially cleaned. But maybe we were just unlucky...

We only booked accomodation and breakfast and that would be the same our tip: do not book half board! The price was relatively high, the restaurant nothing special comfortable and in fußläufigkeit there are plenty of restaurants for every taste and budget (see tips). In the hotel costs the evening buffet 28 Euro, alternatively one can 3 time dinner to a fixed price or the so-called 'dine-around' book (a number of dinner, the other pestana restaurants can be taken). At the bar is from 17 to 19 hours 'happy hour', then there were all drinks for the price. The choice at the breakfast buffet was alright, as far as everything was there: fried eggs and scrambled eggs & gek. Eggs (everything usually luke warm), beans, waffles (mostly cold), trockenmüsli /cereal, yogurt (rather favorable quality), cakes, fresh fruit and fruit salad, and so on. A large selection of meat and cheeses, however not expect. Bread and rolls (good choice) were very good, toast-yourself toast there was also every day. The served juices unfortunately, you can only as cheap call. A variety of coffees (coffee cream, coffee, Cappuccino) was from the automat, dte and cocoa powder were also offered. Unfortunately, there was no freshly prepared egg dishes. You can also outside on of the terrace breakfast. We noticed, that the table-ware often not clean was often you had to a plate or cup of return. Also the two coffeemakers did not exactly a great neat impression, here is probably a bit careless. A shame!

The frontdesk employees and the breakfast service were without exception very friendly and helpful. The cleaning of the rooms left at least in our case something else to wish for (see rooms).

The garden in the pool area is very nice designed and very neat. Outdoor and indoor swimming pool, spa or fitness center we didn't use, we were out and about every day.

In the immediate vicinity there are numerous restaurants, a small spar market just around the corner, and a larger supermarket only a few minutes' walk away on the promenade. The right beautiful and interesting shopping center 'Forum Madeira' it only around 10 minutes away on foot – a visit is worthwhile. Here there is also a larger supermarket and different ways to eat. To Funchal city center one needs on foot around 30 to 45 minutes, there are but also several bus stops in the vicinity, the on different lines on the route. A shuttle service to/from Funchal will from the hotel not offered. The promenade very nice constructed, you can even up carama de lobos-a part goes through a tunnel in the lava rock.
