When we arrived in the hotel, we are amazed how big the hotel is. Staffs are very friendly and accommodating. The room is literally huge aned very clean. We had a buffet breakfast which is awesome. They serve pork bacon, fresh juices and they had as well live stations which i love the most. and the hotel rate is cheap with a 5 star service. read hotel review

    The hotel is located in the beach area which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel and have a decent size of pool. It's near some tourist spots in Bentota and Galle

it was just the good beach and good swimming pool...apart from that it was a very poor exprrience, specially the duty manager of the hotel was unprofessional, and did not care about the customers. read hotel review

    Number 120 deluxe, 15m to the pool. Facilities ok, whereby from deluxe = more expensive room type was nothing to see, but also nothing. Beds in all 3 deluxe rooms sagging.

The hotel has about 90 rooms on 4 floors with different sizes. In the upper floor the deluxe rooms all are newly renovated. You can overnight accomodation with breakfast, half board or all-inclusive book the guest structure is multicolored mixed, german, Sweden, austrians, british, east europeans, local... , likewise the average age. read hotel review

    Our room a deluxe room was large enough and always clean. The furnishings were quite new. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Kettle, tea and coffee, water and fridge, which was always great.

    The hotel is right on the beach, but not large can be used, since a reef davorliegt. 5 minutes to the right or to the left, however, the possibility for swimming or snorkeling. Shopping is right in front of the hotel was possible, larger supermarket, small local shops, cafes and restaurants. Desk etc. Directly in front of the hotel (with Tuk-tuk drivers) bookable. The transfer from the airport to the hotel takes approximately 3-4 hour

We agree with the bad reviews not endorse. The rooms were big enough and very clean. Mattresses and pillows were fine. The food was partly star quality and was always very tasty. We liked it, that there is no pork chops were ☺ With the breakfast one had only one sort of cheese or sausage, but there were plenty of other treats. Much fruit was at the meals always available. Since wlan worked in the lobby. On the whole, the hotel was very well maintained. The guest structure was very mixed. Indians, australians, german, russian.     The rooms are neat and functional. There was a large flat screen tv. There was everything available, such as kettle including tea, coffee, and so on. The bathroom was large enough and very clean.

    The staff was always very friendly and helpful. Forecasts from the candle-lit dinner or other extras were delighted to arrange. Some of the staff spoke german, most english. We met all the staff always with a genuine smile and had many nice conversations. As soon as you a tour anmeldete, you got the next morning a large, delicious lunch for the trip. So we had no complaints.

    The transfer from the airport to the hotel took 3.5 hours. By the newly built highway, this but reduce. The hotel is right on the beach. Left and right of it you had the opportunity to baden. The place hikkaduwa is very lively but still comfortable. Restaurants, supermarket and shops are located in the immediate vicinity. The main street is right behind the hotel, as at the other hotels on the coast. Bus, train and tuk-tuk are also in direct proximity.

The hotel has a manageable location. I think for sri lankan circumstances is the cleanness ok. In the hotel there were many young people. About 50% russian guests, but also many dutchmen, asians and on weekends also some local (was very interesting), but unfortunately not german. read hotel review

    We had a standard room and were content thereby. But there were also room in the lowest floor with a terrace and rooms with a direct view of the restaurant. The furniture was nice, dark wood and the mattresses were relatively hard.

    The restaurant was after three sides to be desired, but with strong wind or rain (we were in september as) with plastic tarpaulins closed. The meals were very varied and tasteful. If the local cuisine tastes not so good, could also different potatoes and vegetables to choose. However, there were no real Cola, only a ' kik -Cola'. The soft drinks such as Cola, Sprite or soda costs 150 Rupees. A small bottle of water 50 Rupees. It was always swept and wiped the tables, the placemat material were only shook out and used several times. Many men in shorts, partly even with swimming trunks, for dinner.

    The staff was very friendly. Some spoke german, even our 'cleaner'. Our first room had a good location-direct view of the see -, but smelled very unpleasantly and was a little dingy, we were immediately a new room promised. We had however to the first night in the room, as we also only around 9:30 a. m. arrived at the hotel. Our 2. room was in the 2, floor and we had an even better view. , the bathroom had a window. The air conditioning was even, if we were not in the room. The cups were however only with a cloth wiped out. We have the cups then rather after use itself ausgwischt.

    There were no activities. There were hardly any kids at the area. The pool and the garden area were in the morning and regularly cleaned. There were always enough beach chairs and enough shade. The cushions were quite thin, sometimes we got also 2 cushions!

    The hotel is located directly on the sea. One has a wonderful view from the hotel and garden on the sea. To the right and on the left you can directly at the sea to the beautiful beaches are. Just towel from the hotel along. A relatively large supermarket is directly opposite the hotel. The bus stop is a few more meters away. The train station is within a few minutes to reach. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. We dared with the regular bus after galle to drive. It costs 35 Rupees and takes about 40 minutes. The bus ends in galle right office away at the bus station. Nearby you will find also a tsunami museum and 2 smaller lakes. As we had a tour, we only with a local leaders the actual village with its fruits, animals, and so on. Looked at. On sunday morning always with the station a worth seeing market.

    Deal with major the room ok. Had one with a terrace, direct with sea view. Furniture already very old. Minibar available with moraden prices. Air conditioning ok. Bathrooms should all be renovated telephone not available. Most people are 5 times moved, it still worse rooms in the hotel there is.

    You could inside and eat outside. Outside was pleasant, since internal very warm. Food was good. There was a corner, where it only sharp dishes. Drinks were always cold. Cola about 1 €, beer about € 1.70, cocktails from 3€ It was very clean in the restaurant also in the kitchen, since we a chefscocktail with some samples with appetizers and hühnchencurry booked, offer the waiters for 1000. - Rupees ( about 6 €)

    Airport approximately if you leave the highway drives about 2,5 hours. Shopping directly in front of the hotel but low quality products. Excursions are all far away, so that you only as 2-4 days are offered. Kandy told, is about each way 5 hours away, so 10 hours travel time and 2 hours look at. To stressful. Tuk tuk directly in front of the hotel. Beach is for swimming not convenient, as very strong waves there is. For surfers optimal. After galle dangers with the taxi and there it is still dirtier than in hikkaduwa

At first we had a standard room in a disastrous condition (bathroom was filthy, sticky rooms.). With the local guide, we didn't (the tour). Only when we with a travel agency in Austria in connection, (was like a bite into the wasps nest ) we got immediately a room in the 3. floor (luxury room-normal way only for an extra charge). And a Seafood dinner with a fl. Wine we got from the manager. Food was otherwise quite good except for beef, it always tasted as hockey puck. Beach not usable (sea urchins). Snorkelling only at a charge (excursion ... boats). Before, we were on a round trip in the country and as all hotels were (3 piece) better and cleaner. read hotel review

It was not our first stay in Sri Lanka. Were with the choice of the hotel very satisfied. The staff was very friendly. Our hotel room was already getting old, but it was alright. The food was very good and with a lot of variation. The beach in front of the hotel there is for swimming not convenient, but you can to the right as well as to the left walk, village one can swim really good and turtle watching. For small desk with the motorcycle is hikkaduwa good. Trips by train are cheap and you can see a lot. ... We the vacation in Sri Lanka really enjoyed. read hotel review

Although many german speaking guests in the hotel goods at the front desk no speak german ( some waiters can speak a bit of german ) our room on the 4. floor was simply eingerichtetaber, but the floor was very dirty one must slippers are, according to other guests the rooms are in the lower floors were dirty. The beach was and is unusable since everything was full of sea urchins is, 200 meters to the north has a hotel a beach for snorkelling and you can free schildktöten feed, camps and swim with them. The rooms are very loud ..., because on the doorstep the main street and after the houses the railway runs, the lapping of the waves you can hear very loud into the room since no door close. read hotel review

We were very disappointed about this hotel. Missing here it very attention to detail. Especially the dirt everywhere in the hotel and also in the rooms horrified. (old moldy mattresses and dirty dishes in the staircases) we have at the check-in several times the room changed. However the rooms were not better. ( bathroom very dirty, water heater and cups dirty, very worn) first after a complaint at the tour operator we were given a luxury rooms without an extra charge given. This room was ok, but also nothing special. The complex was very simply, there was not a Blume ..., cushions worn out. We were a little bit disgusted. The only positive the food was, really varied and tasty. We were already very much in Asien on the way, but that was with distance the worst hotel, which we have stayed in. read hotel review

Nice and small hotel, very friendly staff, very professional front desk. Because there is a coral reef, there were high waves and you have to swim a few meters at the sea long walk. Good location, a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. International guests, also a few russians but not at all negative anything else. Our favorite was, that - in comparison to other hotels which we have seen-in the citrus everything is open and there is no wall between beach and hotel. And alone the sunsets are worth a trip! read hotel review

We know this hotel since about 15 years. Before 2 years changed the owner and the hotel has been completely renovated and two floors added. As far as you a deluxe room bay, has the citrus to the two best hotels in hikkaduwa (the other is more expensive). The new management cares a lot about the guests and improvements to be desired. In some reviews described weekend-rioting by local groups is spared. That is probably connected from the utilization of the hotel from. Guest structure: mostly older guests, in our stay we had about 1/3 russian, but hardly any negative ... noticeable. read hotel review

    The deluxe -rooms are very big and free from mold. Very nice ocean view with amazing sunsets. The furnishing is new and is apart from too few storage space in the closets hardly any wishes open. Free safe, a flat-screen tv, minibar, kettle, hair dryer in the bathroom. Tip: if you the mini bar simply dispel and the content there is, you can for their own drinks, without that there are problems. The air conditioning can be easily regulate and when the blower on stage 1, it is not too noisy. The mattresses were rather soft, who has back problems, could be as unpleasant feel. In the deluxe rooms, the door to the side of the road, however from the busy galle road was a lot of noise ( hupende buses etc.). Who has an easy sleep, should urgently bring earplugs. The standard -rooms are quiet, but small and not quite as well maintained.

    Breakfast and dinner are good and rich with wide choice. Hygienic flawless. The actually completely unnecessary attempt, west to cook, is naturally sometimes wrong. However luckily there was each evening beside the theme buffet (Italy, english, mexican etc.) Also a wide choice local curry dishes, the really recommendable are. The price of drinks for hotel standards moderate, in simple beach bars is often higher prices. Tip : for dinner you can also the tables by the pool set, it is clearly more relaxing than in the covered and somewhat noisy restaurant.

    The complete staff is very friendly and tried hard, one could in english and sometimes also in german communicate well. The cleaning of the rooms works for the relationship of price to the country very good. Initially is the cleaning of the rooms sometimes a bit late (after 2:00 p. m.). But a friendly note to the management was sufficient, in order to the problem to solve. Flowers on the bed, as in the past, there is unfortunately not more.

    The swimming pool is cleaned daily, chairs are abundant, the towels come from the dryer and smell pleasant fresh. Apart from a folklore show on sunday evening has (luckily) no entertainment. But live music during dinner, the on the duration a bit annoying.

    Transfer from the airport by bus around 3 to 4 hour. It should soon be better, if the new motorway to to the airport goes. The hotel was pleasant on the edge of town from hikkaduwa. The center is on foot in around 10 to 15 minutes walking distance. For swimming one goes about 10 minutes to the left the beach down, but be careful, the surf is very high. For snorkelling is the hikkaduwa reef (to the right at the beach down, on Hotel Coral sands ) really recommendable, here you can see very many and also large fish, and tame sea turtles, with algae feed leave. Night life you should not expect too much, the best is in the evening in the 'top secret' what los (about 15 minutes to the left at the beach down). Very moderate drink prices (large arrack 170 rupee ), the music goes but unfortunately rather direction techno (formerly there reggä ).

The hotel is in hikkaduwa in my opinion one of the best. European standard, you don't expect, but outside europe not be surprising! We were in the renovated rooms and it was still everything okay. The bathroom was not more so chic, but the room was big enough and the beds were very comfortable. Towels and bed linen was always clean, against some tip was especially good cleared up and one made clean. The view was unique, as we were right on the sea looked and the sound of the waves always factor was. The road on the other side ... you could hardly hear it. At night is anyway hardly traffic during the day and you could one or another horn notice, but not intrusive. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. So friendly waiters i have never experienced before, not in Karibik or in Thailand. The friendliness hung not of tips off. The pool is from one to 2.5 meters deep and not, as in previous contributions mentioned, too small. Of course you can't with the pool landscapes of egypt or Turkey compare. For holiday by the pool that country would be much too unfortunate. As many speakers have mentioned, is the beach right, if one the stairs down, not for swimming adequate. The is however not problematic, since either 5 minutes to the left the beach (waves for brave swimmers and enthusiastic surfer) on ' reefend' begins ( reefend surfschool ) or a few steps to the right a small, quiet bathing area is available, in which you many colorful fish can. Even further to the right (5 minutes), a larger, quieter beach. Often we met turtles. The food in the restaurant is reasonable and the cooks are very hard. Chicken tasted always good. The offered fruits and the desserts were fantastic. In addition there was mostly fresh juice, the not like in other hotels only from concentrate touched. So for example on some days fresh maracujasaft, a dream! The breakfast is varied and ranged from einiheimischem curry to english breakfast. Excursions could be very good with the locals book, for example with the driver directly in front of the hotel with a large, white bus. We have very good experiences with the tuktuk and bus drivers there. On the road there are many shops, so that makes for a nice evening stroll to go can. The sales assistants are also not intrusive and nerves with a 'no' not further. The people are however always very interested, where it is, how long you stay, where you were and how to get it in their country will take place. In the evening it is worth to ' mambos' to go, this is a bar directly at the beach, where especially saturday is busy. The cocktails are very recommendable. For children under 12 years i think, is Sri Lanka definitely not adequate. The shuttle from the airport is four hours and the beach is through the waves not for small children adequate. There is also on excursions lots to see, through the traffic the stretch but mostly a bit of a hassle. I would directly book the hotel again and will definitely again holiday in Sri Lanka make. Great vacation in the citrus hikkaduwa

Recommendable hotel, good service, friendliness of the staff and some waiters in the restaurant speak and understand something german. Beach directly at the hotel for swimming not suitable-but after approximately 500 meters walk is a beautiful bay. In the deluxe rooms (4. floor) are the front doors to the busy street after galle and therefore is the street noise audible. The hotel reagirte during our stay with the installation of reinforced doors. Lachbild tv in the room - negative no supply of the german wave. Last third of our stay predominantly russian-speaking. The local care for Neckermann, bucher, th. Cook ... was very concerned all requests to solve-in our travels so unique and worth mentioning! Over this we had for 95 Euro per person Jeep Safari in the national park udawalawe booked. This trip was totally overpriced-we then took our trips very cheap local tuk-tuk driver, partly also speak german (recommended means gram upalie, to be met in the approximately 500 meters from farm-house). But, that it is a 3.5 star hotel is, you can not complain at all. And you should also consider, that a relative poor country, but nevertheless relatively expensive when booking of excursions. The hotel is on a very busy street. Who has an easy sleep, should in any case take your earplugs. The staff are very friendly and really always make an effort, problem as quickly as possible to fix it. Orders at lunchtime in the restaurant you have a bit more time to the food comes. As a guest receives one every day one l bottle of ... water free of charge in the room. Opposite the hotel is a bigger supermarket, where one can buy favorably, of drinks, ice, various foodstuffs to drogerieartikeln. We have several excursions done. Highly recommend is a short trip in the tsunami museum, mangrovenbootsfahrt, 2 day trip to kandy. ' days must be, as one for a very long time about 4 hours after kandy drives. Cheap if you shop want, then you should by train ( 60 rupees 2. class) after galle drive. Where you can a lot cheap shopping. From yala nationalpark we were rather disappointed. 3 hours autfahrt to yala, 4 hours Jeep Safari and a few animals seen, since the park is extremely large and one must already have luck must, around leopards or crocodiles to see. Beware of small train drivers! Always on the drive persistent the price negotiate. In front of the hotel there was daily the same man. His name is' brämi' or similar. He should not trust. Too expensive and other hotel guests were he ripped off. More hotel guests booked through the beach boys a trip and a prepayment of 40 €transacted. But the day of the trip is not at the meeting point appeared and the money was gone. We were very satisfied overall with the hotel! read hotel review

Probably is the rating with the allocated rooms. We had luck with our (314): it totally damp, very dirty bathroom and to top it off, moldy and full of mold covered pillows and mattress covers (see photo). That was actually the worst, which we ever in a hotel experienced. After complaint, was a spare room in the other building was to assigned. That would actually be very pleasant been, if the noise not so great to hear would be. For all, who like in the morning around 5:00 from tuktuklärm, the deafening horns of the penalty be woken up ..., a good alternative. (we do not understand, why no intermediate doors are used, the noise to depreciate). So, now for the positives the staff were in all areas really friendly, always cheerful and courteous. The food was excellent and diverse. The pool is nice, unfortunately, there was hardly any beach and no bathing possibility in the sea. You must already walk a bit. What we also the one negative was, was the wi-fi access, the mostly did not work and if in a 2 meter ² large closet, in which each the mails of the neighbors could read. For the size of the hotel not adequate or there should be no mention in the hotel description find. read hotel review
