A lovely hotel - a remote, offers however really everything you need.
The food in the many to choose from standing restaurants and bars is expensive to very expensive but every Rial value. A good stay in a hotel, what unfortunately any five stars standard ( especially the rooms are with old beschaedigten furniture and old tv) and the service is partly. Needs improvement. The outdoor areas ( pools, lazy river and bars) are very nice and invite you for relaxing a. However only recommendable in the low season, since otherwise both in restaurants, as well as by the pool ( loungers) to engpaessen comes. The one in the low season the wes the omani (thursday & friday) noticed, where it very noisy & crowded. With booked half board you need to get ... on high extra charges set. Excursions in the Oman are also very expensive ( wahabi sands tour circa 150 Euro per person). Recommendable is however the station extra divers in the hotel complex: great German care with great excursions (delfintour with 95% probability and great dives).
A good hotel for the low season, if you don't five stars standard expected. read more

The hotel lies in a very nice Bay, nestled in mountains. At the beach you could again and again turtles and Babyrochen in the water see. At the moment, in the neighboring hotel minor construction by the pool instead, the however no noise cause. At the beach for the next 2 months sand from the sea was pumped, damage the cyclone of 2 years ago caused, this all leads however no disruption of the beach-, respectively pool life in Al Waha. The temperatures were always around 40-45°C, in the evening with about 35 °C be expected. The shuttle bus service ... to the neighboring hotel s Al Bandar and Al husn worked very well, as the rest of service we taken into account had. Our return flight went at 22:30 o'clock, and that is why we, in the free late check-out at 18:00 o'clock and so the whole day by the pool spend could.
We were exactly during the Ramadan on site, there were so the day not alcohol in the open, what we didn't bother us. All together a very recommendable hotel! In a few years we will gladly come again. read more

The hotel is very nicely located. A bit at the outskirts of muscat, but in a beautiful bay. Rooms are very nice, partly but the room service after, for example turndown did not fold, since always progress than we in the room were. Cleanliness in the room ok, however not on 5-star standard. Many deutssprachige guests and europär, a few locals and arabic guests. read more

Ideal for family holidays. Expensive but good - family room are 2 double rooms with connecting door. Very good.
I think the hotel is really only for families with children suitable. Couple feel at home in the associated hotels ( Bandar and Al husn certainly better. In the dining room it was us sometimes something to latut. Unfortunately it was also a bit tight tables - d. Means-we had to for the food with a short waiting time count, this was a shame. read more

This hotel is not free a the best in the Oman. We booked half board: Gourmet cuisine; simple excellent quality in Samba and Al Tanoor (theme buffets; from barbecue on Inde-night and excellent seafood-lobster, prawns amongst others, international buffets ).
The highlight of the hotel complex lazy river (a riverside area across the whole complex; popular with young and old )!
Excellent staff, from the room boy to the waiter all speak a perfect English!
Population of Oman extremely friendly and helpful foreign opposite.
In short: the Oman is always worth a trip. We would definitely come again! read more

A very nice hotel with a pool landscape and wonderful Palm Trees!
The staff are very, very nice, considerate and accommodating. It is located about 30 minutes outside of the capital Muscat in the middle of from mountains. A shuttle bus of the hotel drives several times in the capital (souq and market). The park with a wonderful Palms and comfortable pool chairs and sonnensegeln, borders directly at the beach. Sandy beach on the one hand by a Steinsclichtung and on the other hand by a flat cliff ledge hour (careful Verletzugsgefahr!). The rooms are spacious, clean and bright, mini ... bar, tv, safe and air conditioning. Bathroom with a shower and bath tub and toilet offers enough space. In the spacious lobby there are many opportunities to sit and a tea bar. On the ground floor are the restaurant and a café. The breakfast is very rich and the friendly staff supported, dinner a la carte or from the buffet. The grounds around the pool and the pool themselves are very well maintained and always supervised. Life guard monitor pool and beach. A possibility for shopping there is in the other hotel complex give, we have the market but not visited. By prior arrangement, you can free by bus in the capital. There are also excursions in the interior (desert) offered. A small downside, no dressing possibility ( toilet) and shower for the return trip, if you have been out. But in sum a great hotel and a beautiful relaxing unforgettable stay. read more

The hotel is as far as reasonable, but:
The five stars must be earned. The cleanliness in the public rooms has shortcomings on-it is partially waste ( for example Cotton swabs, etc..). In the corridor rum, the only after 1 to 2 days cleared.
The toilets with the beach only once cleaned daily - one can imagine, as these already at lunchtime looks: Completely with sand dirty, everything is wet, there is a lack of soap, towels, etc.. read more

The hotel Al Waha is one of the three hotels in the area of Shangri-la's bar Al Jissah resort & Spa. This luxury hotel was the absolute worst at the end of our Oman-tour. A hotel like in rock ripped off, with every luxury, which you could want. We will certainly be back again. This hotel is excellent moderate and one of the best hotels, in which we have ever been to.
The service is the best of the best! In the lobby there is free refreshments, by the pool and on the beach free water, and fresh fruit in ... the afternoon refreshment towels. Free Internet is an obvious as the daily fresh water in the room.
The whole area has several restaurants. We stayed at the breakfast both, as well as at the dinner at the main restaurant Samba. What we should also for the good quality and great fresh food at another restaurant? Every meal was served in buffet form and no pleasure from: various fresh salads, seafood, shrimp, crabs, lobster, fish, various finished cooked meat and fish dishes, fresh, even grilled. Fruit and desserts. The restaurant as well as 1000 stars as well as the whole hotel. Also here the food surpasses everything, we have enjoyed.
On the artificial channel (lazy river) you can slip on a pneumatic tyres and enjoy the sun. At the pool bar you can enjoy delicious cocktails or a beer.
Tips
Every day you can watch 17 o'clock a one-time natures on the beach. Depending on the breeding season on the beach small turtle babies on the beach facing the water and in the waters of the Sea dip. This row shall be carried out under professional supervision of Mohammad, a hotel employee, the worries about the many by the beach turtle nests and therefor, in accordance with the small turtles hatch intact can walk into the sea. A one-time experience!

At the end of our trip to Abu Dhabi and Oman a very relaxing beach stay at the Shangri-la, the most important thing for a stay with children can recommend.
Only drawback-mold in the shower. Unfortunately I missed transfer.
Very large pool area with a lazy river, fancy buffet in the morning and in the evening, beautiful beach with lovely, warm and clean sea, possibility to snorkel excursions, short walk to the bazaar in mutrah. I especially liked the nature lover, as leatherback turtles nests are protected water and watch the hatch and the turtles of the kids to the ... water. A 'turtle Ranger' and several staff very patient information about the same issues of tourists. If you then a fully grown turtle discovered while snorkeling, this is a one-time experience. read more

as mentioned above is a guarantee of the hotel name 'Shangri la' world-wide for the best quality and great service. We found no cause for criticism. For all those travellers next to the beach about the country and its people want to know, it is essential to have a car to rent. It was, as already mentioned, there is a free shuttle in the morning and in the afternoon in a shopping center in the souq of mutrah offered, but you are limited with the return trip bound. The fare for a taxi from the hotel to the mutrah/Muscat and ... back costs more than a day for renting a car. With a-way spritpreis of 0.24 euro/litre petrol makes even the pay at the gas station fun!
Part of the beach is not as Naturschutzgründen and mistakenly cited from pollution reasons closed.

We wanted to allows us at the end of our rented car tour of the Nordoman a little bit of luxury and we chose this hotel (through Thomas cook, cheaper than other providers), to unwind from which to explore the capital Muscat, as well as the soul. The hotel is situated about 15-20 minutes drive from nutmeg away (about 45 minutes from the airport to the normal traffic) in a rocky bay, the only has a small beach, the half because of contamination by seaweeds was closed. A well-developed road leads directly to this resort, which consists of three well ... known Hotel (reasonably priced graduated). The parking spaces are a bit tight at the Al Waha. The Al Waha is especially for families with children and the 'cheapest' hotel under the three houses. The service is impeccable and the rooms with large bathrooms are comfortable and all an interior with several pools (during the day due to a high number of children quite loud) laid out. The whole place has Charme, but at the same time, built up again. The breakfast buffet is second to none in the industry five stars. There is nothing to complain about. Plenty of beach chairs and towels are available at any time and, in particular, the floating channel, in which one of the resort complex on a tire supplies float may, we liked. Outside the area only food, if you car/taxi, to nutmeg drive. The alternatives in the resort are very good, but its price, which is equivalent to a hotel of this category. Twice we ate there in the evening buffets fantastic (about 32, -€ per person). The Spa area was optically and technically a highlight. The other facilities are high quality and well maintained, as well as very clean. Shangri-la the name promises more, as the hotel Al Waha we think can, if you have it with some plant in South-East Asia or Bali compares. What increases the much more expensive sister hotels have internally, I do not know. If you don't have kids, or want to enjoy more silence, should not choose the Al Waha. The distance from the capital is also a drawback, quite apart from a small beach. And only for a resort vacation of Oman is too beautiful. read more
