The hotel the renowned melia group is in a prime location close to the Plaza de Espana and the gran via.
The location worth the relatively high price.
Nevertheless it is difficult, many restrictions regarding the equipment and the service acceptable.
Please note: spa including indoor swimming pool is subject to charges,

Great pleasant hotel. Room size is very good. Especially the bath. For 5 stars, some things were unfortunately somewhat worn. The edges the bathtub were a bit rusty and outlets were loose. I found the hotel super, only a couple things should really be renovated. Will pick you up the location of the hotel everything again especially the great good breakfast. Lots of spaniards in the hotel, but the staff also spoke always english. read more

The design of the interior fittings was consistently to the smallest corner of the room pulled through-even if it was inconvenient was ( shower without shelf). I have a booked superior rooms, the according to own hotel description very spacious appeared with breathtaking views of Madrid. Can I have a room on the second floor with a view to the opposite terrace front and with a square pillar in the middle in the room! read more

The hotel is actually optically not very nice, but one had (if one the right category bay) a great view over Madrid. I had a double room for single use on the 11. floor and a very nice view over Madrid amongst others the castle.
The hotel is very stylish designed. It seemed clean. The staff are trained friendly.
In the week guest mostly people on business trip different nationalities. At the weekend mostly probably tourist.
The breakfast buffet is huge, there are on the normal dishes amongst others still Paella, sushi and red wine... read more

The hotel has over twelve floors and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Plaza de Espana. Bus and metro access (airport) very close.
With the Metro one drives with 1 x change about 25 minutes and seven minutes walk to the hotel.
Bars, restaurants, bars, attractions (cathedral, royal palace, cable car, Plaza de major and much more including shopping-close to everything-the location of the hotel is really great and is based on the size of far to see.
Front desk was friendly and spoke English.
The pool and spa area available, but we didn't use it (15 euro). ...
Fitness room is free of charge and features some classic devices.
My room 11. Top floor had a view to the city center, etc. palace. during the day and in the evening a beautiful view.
The smart rooms is decorated in a contemporary style and very big. A large bed with six pillows, comfy chair with foot stool, desk with chair available. The bathroom was spacious and even, without being able to ask, a razor, foam, toothbrush and paste, as well as all other things (shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, bathrobe and slippers.
In the very modern bath, two sinks, bidet and a bath tub.
Breakfast not used once ate a snack at the bar. Nothing special, expensive, so I chose the bars in the area.
It is striking, in Madrid, but also in other places very little English spoken broken, thus in bars or restaurants-if then very. Even in the hotel (reception very good) the men at the bar could hardly speak English, which I don't care. Irgwie we could inform us, even with a bit of Spanish in the pharmacy clear ☺
City center was great and you can see much. Unfortunately the three days, however, lots of things to do. Many beggars and partly a lot of trash on the street (unfortunately)
Tip: the Mercado de San Miguel, near Plaza de major. A hall with various suppliers and various tapas, but also many desserts. a dream, really! very well visited by locals and tourists, a small gourmet temple (fish, sushi, shrimp, paella, different creams, ham and cheese specialities and much more)
Due to the location would I go back to the hotel. read more

In a five star hotel I would expect a pool of the whole Sunday has not closed. And because the pool to has, is also the fitness center closed. All the hotel looks more like a good three star hotel. Five stars are completely unwarranted. It is not a lot of little things. A coffee maker in the room it. But no one has thought of milk is not acceptable and room service. Not to recommend-despite a perfect location. And much to expensive for the service. For 60 to 80 euro I would perhaps stay there again. More but not. read more

A super great hotel. Very styleful. From the outside it looks like 70's a year house however if one the hotel enters changes this opinion suddenly. The staff is friendly and very much forestalling. The meal is super. The breakfast costs about 28, - €. However a super expects great buffet with everything which the heart desired. We did not use the hotel-own swimming pool. According to info. costs it per day 15, - € which too expensive we kept a little. Otherwise everything is marvelous. The rooms are clean and very large. read more

A 1970's prefabricated building from the outside with a bad hotel entrance. Not very welcoming. Inside the ambience changes to a pleasant 5 star decoration. The rooms are for a short-stay reasonable size. depending upon rate is breakfast incl. Or you don't. Prices for extras (bar, breakfast ... ) Rather 6 stars in this price range. read more

The hotel was located very well. The hotel group was well known Solmelia has a good service. The hotel has been renovated, but somehow missing the "certain something". You should do far more shold improve service and some renovation, renew. Would not stay there again. 5 Stars are not legitimate, is a good 4 star hotel. read more

Good hotel right next to the metro/Ventura - Rodriguez. The hotel looks more like a "A construction mistake," from the 1970 's. The hotel was renovated in 2008 and is now on the inside more contemporary continues stylish equipped. The "check in" we were even served in German. The hot/cold buffet breakfast was good and we didn't miss anything. (Typical American buffet breakfast). Our room was very modern and very clean. Tip: The hotel is part of "Sol Melia Group". We had the MAS card ordered in advance free of charge. As with a MAS card for a double ... occupancy for one of the partners breakfast for free. The normal breakfast price is 26 - EUR per. P. p., with the map beide_ breakfast then "two for one"_ read more
