A very nice, clean and quiet hotel in a great location and directly at the beach with brilliant food. The hotel has approximately 100 rooms. It is very quiet in the hotel, so that relaxation is guaranteed! The furnishing and the equipment is modern and very clean. The hotel is mostly by german all ages visited. Is outstanding the good food and friendly service. The hotel is perfect for a longer stay. read more

    All rooms in the hotel have a direct sea view, exceptionally beautiful. The rooms are big and modern equipped. Also the bathroom has a rather sophisticatedly equipped. There is a balcony, a mini bar, a safe, a hair dryer, an airco, a kettle and a tv, but no german programs (in the near future be changed).

    The hotel has a restaurant with inside (air conditioned) and outdoor area and a bar, the but not visited. At the beach there is a fish restaurant, nevertheless the food is completely overpriced. The food was varied. There were european but mainly natoinale food, the very lescker and very attractive are served. Also the atmosphere with the food is pleasantly quiet. For the nice atmosphere in the evening is a pianist. The prices are higher than outside the hotel, but for germans due to the economic situation of the country, cheap.

    The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful and discreet. For complaints were immediately taken care of and one asks regularly, whether everything was fine. All of the staff speak good english. The hotel is cleaned regularly, so you feel very well can. Also the cleaning of the rooms is very good, but it is not the german cleanliness ☺.

    There are not many amenities in the hotel. Only water aerobics and a game action, like for instance Volleyball once offered daily. For children there were no tenders! For the evening there is a lounge, but somewhat remote in the interior area of the hotel and not from the guests frequented. An evening program is not ordered. There are two very nice and clean pools, a the chairs in the sand and a the chairs on the lawn. There is enough chairs, with clean and comfortable cushions. Towels from the hotel made available. It could be a bit more umbrellas, as you due to the intense sun without an umbrella there not.

    The hotel is directly at the clean sandy beach of bentota. Since this starandabschnitt little visited and really directly behind the hotel is, it looks almost like a private beach. The hotel has it's own section for beach chairs (sand or lawn), of flying traders not can be entered, so you your peace has. The beach is great clean and the water very warm, perfect for swimming. In the immediate vicinity there is (german) restaurants and a few shops, which one to reach on foot can. Destinations are accessible by taxi, bus or train easy to reach. Only drawback, however in Sri Lanka usual the distance to the airport (about 2,5 hours). A new airport is already under construction and some parts of the new motorway are already negotiable.

The surf hotel in bentota was located on one of the most beautiful beaches of sri lanka. The cleanliness the beach was especially impressive. Unfortunately was at the time of our visit a strong surf, as well as a strong underwater current the baden in the sea a bit restricted. The hotel has approximately 100 rooms all have sea views. During our stay we stayed in a deluxe room that aureichernd large and over all amenities such as hair dryer in the bathroom, kettle, tv. The cleanliness in the room was spotless. Guest structure was mixed. Russians, ukrainians, norwegian, german ... all ages. The only the negative way was a german retired couple which constantly on the move search for drawbacks were (these were according to their known already several times suburb). Honestly, there was nothing to complain about, and if something not so ran like wish the staff more as hard to do everything for the guests satisfaction. Why are these people not better in the bavarian forest than to go back to this really nice people of sri lanka to anger?     Our deluxe room was big enough. Hair dryer, kettle, tv, safe, mini bar everything available. The room service came twice a day and it was for us no reason for critic. For a few rupee bedankten with true works of art from towels shaped. Once it was a bull time there were dolphins.

    The surf features 2 restaurants. We mostly in the restaurant in the main building to eat. The offer in various dishes from our point of view, no reason to complain. Particularly the lovingly designed desserts found plenty of encouragement and our recognition. Even if one were against 21 hours 30 in the dining room, the choice was rich and if a bit threatened going out was immediately bread themselves from. We can't understand as cheeky some contemporaries and tried the temperature of the food offered to check. What is this?

    We give the entire staff from the porters up to the bar top marks in things friendliness. She everybody was always endeavors the guest contently set and to do their best. At the front desk there was an employee the spoke german otherwise english was the lenguage.

    Issue of beach chairs and umbrellas. Here would have a few more. At least caused this situation that some tourists in the darkness los crept around to reserve. Otherwise in the pool boy for a small tip this task. He gave us tourists with the pool towels you as well as at the beach use. The complex features 2 pools the cleaned daily were. From and to we used the pool directly to our room located mostly but rather the sea. There was also a disco, above the coffee shop location But we didn't use.     Transfer time from Colombo airport to bentota took about 3 hours. Depends on the traffic. On our way back home early in the morning we were in 2 hours in Colombo at the airport. About the location of the hotel. As often described, it is located directly at the sea, from the outside by a high wall plain if you come to it. Opens the gate there is a landscaped courtyard welcomes. Directly in front the hotel there is a railroad embankment you have to cross on the other side some shops to reach. The locals were always very on security the vacationer carefully and gave to understand if you better not over the track should go. The train service was minimal and not disturbing at all. Tuk tuk driver waited always on the adventurous tourists the hotel for shopping to aluthgamma or kandivahara Temple to drive. Try it. We found it great. Dennis (green tuc tuc) our driver of a little german spoke was a caring companion on all our excursions we made

Very strong minded a/c in the restaurant. No four tables in the outdoor area. 88 double room and only 22 umbrellas. No palm trees in the area, although palmenreichste region the island. No chairs on the terrace. Announces a ministers are still 11 screens for nothing, four days, made available and the guest in the sun stew. An absurd alerted by the bed, fractures in zehenbereich. Annoying nightlight that employees yelling music in the outdoor area. In the top room to get you through a a/c chilled café or long detours in. Felt 80 servers in the restaurant create not ... free tables to vacate, or the buffet to-stocked. Always missing cups, tl., or hot water. One goes somewhat later in the evening to eat is the staff on 8. table preferred, then plays the paying guests no large role anymore. We know lots of hotels on sl., this we can't recommend. read more

The hotel is beautiful, however directly behind the railroad where the train from 04:00 until about 22:00 all half hour hopping that goes. Otherwise very clean and good, staff is very friendly. On complaints was stolid (after 3 times matters) reaction. Tip: definitely a room in the parterre or 1 floor, are better before the noise protected (train) read more

The hotel is once renovation/modernisation and new building very nice became. The hit, the 95% the room direct sea view have (deluxe room to 100%) Direct and open access to the beach from the hotel-garden-/sunbed area to the great beach. Behind the hotel on the land side runs the line (Colombo-bile). The train station bentota is from the hotel on foot in 2 minutes reachable. The noise the trains didn't bother. And is simply a part of it. The staff are very attentive; only the front desk is from time to time overburdened or has kommunikationsdefizite, if issues after turnover ... not have been handed in and you eventual wishes or concerns afterwards again ' in nothing starts '. read more

Our stay the surf was very pleasant. The hotel is recommendable. There is no all inclusive offered. We found that to be diplomatic. The beverages you had to itself pay (except for tea). Thus the use of alcohol within limits: many peaceful hotel guests. On complaints was immediately and friendly response. Problems were immediately rectified. The access to the 'public' life is perfect. We booked a 3-day -round trip with prasanna -tours (booking through internet possible) done: very individual and recommendable. 'the surf' was even at full occupancy remarkable functional. Canvas chairs at the beach were in sufficient numbers available. ... If you were missing, they were at desired body set up. You just have to communicate. The hotel beach was clean. The pools were constantly well-kept. For snorkel friends: in bentota not make sense. It is beach -sandy beach of the finest quality, really waves and sunday To eat: for us often very hot (but you're in Sri Lanka!) But appetizing and light after 14 days. We know the country now for 39 years and we can due to our experience this hotel definitely recommend. The location at the beach is excellent, but, unfortunately, the lawn no square centimeters shade, since according to the staff during the renovation the shady palm trees have been removed. The beach north is ideal for relaxing walks and, which is refreshing, you will not be through beachboys troubled; the it seems here not to give. South, in the direction taj and saman villas, is the beach a deserted, resembles rather a garbage dump for careless discarded plastic. This plastic bags ... are unfortunately now comprehensively and evenly over the whole island scattered and do the naive romantic idea of heaven in indian ocean a breakdown. Inside the hotel is spotless, the food is plentiful and good. But if real singhalesische kitchen (very hot!) As we would like, should the staff say, this request was promptly fulfilled. Definitely a room in the first floor and not on the ground floor book, otherwise its terrace either on the lawn or almost in the pool. Definitely a repellents against mosquitoes bring along, there is no moskitofreies hotel in the tropics, unless, you sleep at night with the windows closed and doors and air conditioner-cold then guaranteed. Were annoying at the beginning of the permanent played schnulzigen american christmas carols, but after complaints other guests no reason to complain was. The hotel was only 40% full, and from the guests arrived about 80% from the Ukraine or Russia. These guests were not at all negatively, only complained the staff about the lack of german, british and french guests (tip!). Since we on the topic: a tip of 100 rupees (60 cents) daily the room service to perform miracles. read more

We toured this hotel the annex a Sri Lanka trip. It is located directly on the gorgeous beach of bentota. The hotel 'the surf' is just newly renovated (some rooms were still under construction, but we felt you didn't) and is in a top-condition. Next to a smaller pool to splash around there is still a 50 metre pools in the laps. The amenities in the room was very, allesd which was needed is available, even lie specially on the balcony. The offered food was at breakfast and at dinner very varied and there was local and international specialities. The ... rooms were always thoroughly cleaned, as well as the rest of the whole area. The staff spoke through the bank english, german was hardly spoken. From all the staff was always with large friendliness. If we still have a Sri Lanka holiday is, it will be 'the surf' read more

Good middle class hotel in best beach area, spacious rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful, always nice conversation ready. Hotel you can wholeheartedly recommend. It is currently (from middle May) once again completely renovated and will in September be re-opened. For tours in and around bentota and for day trips, we can only most warmly Saali (real name Susantha Priyankara ) recommend. He speaks good German, knows very much about his homeland to reports and knows a lot of wonderful places secluded from Beaten Track. He is mostly at the beach in front of the hotel to find. Soon I ... also a few photos from him and the environment here. We were and are thrilled by this beautiful country and its friendly people. read more

After the previous lihiniya surf a only letdown was, we were after the renovation so thrilled, that we this year right back for a few days the trip to the new the surf made. Were so thrilled. The location is still a hit, the beach is nowhere in the region as nice as here below the bentota river, where the surf is. The hotel standard is very high, just 4 stars. The staff also this time very friendly, the food great! The papaya shake from the all inclusive food is still my inside tip. Gladly again anytime! read more

EN very tastefully furnished hotel directly on a dreamy beach Sri Lanka with comfort ambience. The service was everywhere very friendly and fast helpfully to the place. Every day was asked, whether you a second time fresh towels wanted. In the restaurant there was a massive variety of food and the service exceedingly friendly. A good decision for this hotel. The hotel is directly at the beach. Room with a view of the sea and big balcony. Tv, kitchenette, mini bar, safe available. Everything clean and modern. Bathroom chic and big enough. Unfortunately only laptop and cable (2 entrances) internet access. Dining room large, beach good and sufficient. One evening there were barbecue. Delicious. You can wonderful outside food (caution daws and Chipmunk ). Pool because the sea not used. Beach chairs and mats so la la but doable. Dressing, toilets and showers on site. Lawn really lawn. Enough chairs and shade available. Beach ... quite short on the water edge but long walks possible. Caution: undercurrents are very dangerous and be underestimated. Waves very high and powerful. From here good possibilities on foot or by small trains in the village or for excursions. Nearby a reasonably priced internet café with German speaking owner. Supermarket, Souvenir shops, banks nearby. read more

Small examples are the renovated part, impact but not the guests. The disaster is the management. We were with six other guests because overbooking and in a 'dump' called taprospa in beruwala for 2 nights. During the stay we met other guests know, which it was. Probably also because of the aggressive advertising of fernsehreisesenders the hotel is constantly overbooked. The arrival with flights the srilankan airlines is about 8:30 a. m. in the hotel ..., the rooms there are at least 1:00 p. m. On the day of departure is the room at the latest 11:00 a. m. to vacate, the pick-up is 6:00 p. m. Nachbuchungsmöglichkeiten because the regular overbooking impossible. Stay without withdrawal possibility when 34-36° c and 90% humidity is a no-go! Guest structure felt 60% russians, 30% german, 10% english and locals. read more

    1 main restaurant good and clean furnished, 2 bars. As the furnishing unimaginative is, so poor is the offer. In the all inclusive only beer, locals alcohol, fruit juices any condition-from! The food is a 4 stars hotel unworthy. It is incomprehensible how the indescribably lush regional offer the country fruit and vegetables so reduce on pineapple, bananas and melons, carrots and beans. Totally uninspired kitchen, the it fertigbrachte the greatest fish in dough in fat to drown and very good looking seafood so to überwürzen, that you thought only chili, curry and peppers to eat.

Super beach hotel. Enough sunbeds and umbrellas available. Very friendly staff and great. A great hotel with bad management. Super great food, is something for everyone. All inclusive could be a bit more, little choice. We were always well served and advice. Could on the day of departure for 25 euros until the departure in the room remain. At 34 degrees was of course great, thank you! read more

We were for the first time on Sri Lanka and completely contented. At the hotel it is a newer and so it was very stylish hotel. We were in a few other hotels in bentota inside, none of the surf can keep up. Both the exclusive furniture, as well as the modern bathrooms are the hotel something special. Especially was also the sea, crystal clear and turquoise blue. It was just lovely here in the hotel. Can recommend it to anyone. read more

The hotel is partly newly renovated, some rooms are still in the renovation, air conditioning fell 3a 4 times longer from. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Room on the ground floor rather awkward with closet in the bathroom, 1 or 2 floor better.
