The hotel seemed to us rather ageing to be.
Shuttle service to Santa Monica Pier was good and the location to Venice Beach.

From here you can by car ( you need in La anyway) everything explore what you want. Furthermore is the main shopping street and the pier, about 15 minutes' walk from the hotel.
The hotel itself makes a very good impression and the room was always clean. A bit small, but perfectly sufficient. read more

We can recommend this hotel without any reservations. In La in any case everything is very spread out and without a car you were in a fix. For us is Santa Monica a good starting point been (all important in 30 minutes reachable per car) and ideal, if you afterwards directly to the airport. Breakfast is in the hotel not directly possible, but next door to an IHOP, in which you good (from 7 $plus drinks) can eat. read more

It was OK, furnishing is however so rather moderate of the colors... Functional hotel, with underground parking and elevator.
There was nothing really especially good or bad to say. It is a hotel!
Location is only good if you for everything is prepared car to go.
There is however two streets further, a good Billardladen, a few shops and restaurants.
Internet was unbelievably slow.

For a price from nearly 150.00$ per night I simply expect more, for example a functioning fridgein the check in on the breakfast said, unfortunately did not take place.

we would not book this hotel, due to the cleanliness, the bed was just gross ☹ unfortunately, everything is very old and worn out!

We spent a week at this hotel and had nothing to complain about. Santa Monica pier and the other sights in and around la but you need a car. public transport facilities, such as the bus and also a hotel shuttle are available but the frequency of the TRIPs was nothing for us. Right next to the hotel is an IHOP restaurant which we have visited every morning as there wasn't any breakfast. Very delicious but in the long run also not cheap! about 10 $pp. Parking in the underground garage was free! read more

The hotel is in good condition, rooms are clean and the spaciousness okay. Safe and tv were available, as well as parking for the car. We can say nothing negative about this hotel and recommend without hesitation. read more

Nice hotel in a relatively central location. As in the United States mostly, a car is required. Free car park under the hotel. 10 minutes to the shopping and entertainment district and nice restaurants (American food). Rooms are reminiscent of the 70 -80s, but are very clean and nicely equipped. Fridge, TV and safe are of course. read more

The Best Western Gateway Santa Monica is located on Santa Monica blv. And about 5 minutes by car to the Santa Monica Pier and cozy streets to the mild summer evenings outside. The beach was very large and invited to relax, on the pier is a ton going on, carnival atmosphere. To Los Angeles-downtown is a Höllentrip through the chaos traffic, as you might have some time in a traffic jam. Hollywood and Beverly Hills a must, Universal Studios, unfortunately we did not get downtown we were only for a very short time. We only stayed two nights in Los ... Angeles, I would highly recommend this is at least a week to get to see the entire thing. If you want to throw money couldn't get out of the window, should be the rental car in the hotel parking and then get around as embursement public transport in the city (but also in the beach) are ridiculous (15 minutes for $1.80 !!! ). Otherwise, Los Angeles worth a visit and a great ultimate goal to Route 66 Tour ! read more

We started 3 in Santa Monica a trip by motorcycle. Our OUTPUT hotel is the Best Western in Santa Monica. The hotel itself is in principle all right and is a middle class hotel. The room is big. We got a room with two king size beds, since we have three people in the room. The bathroom in accordance with the size of the room. The cleanliness was in order. The lobby itself was average as you know it in this category. bus connection to (BlueLine) is right outside the hotel and costs $0.50 each way. read more

The Best Western Gateway hotel is a very nice 3 star hotel" in the middle of Santa Monica. It is a 4stöckiges building with a sun terrace. Parking free of charge, shuttle service to the beach every hour from 10 -8pm. read more

The room was very well kept and clean. The size of the room was great, you had a lot of space and does not feel cramped. You had a safe and a fridge in the room was perfect. The bathroom is not too big but ok, it was always clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Attached to the hotel there is the IHOP restaurant. Ideal to have breakfast or a light snack. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a pool which is a shame. But it is in the 4 Floor sun deck where you can sunbathe at ... least a little - without cooling: -) read more

Hotel has free underground parking with elevator. Hotel has free Internet access in the lobby by PC (was very difficult to find on our trip, most of them were free wireless internet, is not only without a laptop to use ... ), The IHOP restaurant, however, is at the hotel. However, it was unfortunately a bit away from the heart of it all, there is a bus right outside the door to the Santa Monica Pier and the 3rd Street Promenade and cost 0.75 USD. read more
