The hotel was really great. Absolutely friendly staff, the room and the grounds were absolutely clean. The food was varied and absolutely delicious. I read bad reviews before you and times specially paid attention to it, but you have to than german also times a course absolute rubbish and can slow down in a country as no 5 stars standard, when you go into the Adlon or the Hilton drives. So all in, a fantastic holiday without to complain about. read hotel review

Our expectations were fulfilled all. The beach is very nice and the hotel was absolutely clean. It is certainly not a european 5 - star standard. But i would in the Karibik did not expect that. The service and the cleanliness justify still the stars! read hotel review

While this is not the Ritz Carlton, it is generally clean and there are some decent amenities. At best this a two and a half to three star experience in a third world country. The worst part is the guests themselves. A blend of middle class English, Scots, Canadians, Jamaicans and some South Americans along with Bubba USA. Every day there was at least one loud drunk making an idiot of himself or herself at the pool bar. There were some honeymooners there as well. read hotel review

    Both rooms smelled like a sewer after they are cleaned. The toilets flushed slowly (often needed three attempts) and they are very stingy with towels both in the room and at the beach/pool. They are not generous with conditioner or other personal items. Shampoo is dispensed. wiFi was extremely poor. TV selections were also very poor. Our rooms were ocean front and the views were very good. There is enough space in the rooms and adequate closet areas, but do not expect a king size bed but rather two doubles pushed together.

    Some decent ala carte options in Krystal and the Japanese restaurants. Problem is they need to be booked a day in advance and you need to do so between 8am and 8:30 am or they are sold out. Don't bother with the Italian option as it is not very good. The buffet was not overly impressive for any of the meals where we used it. Jerk checking is prepared on the beach daily for lunch and is well worth the wait to get some.

    The staff is there to help but believe me they expect to be tipped. All inclusive should be viewed as a base when calculating your planned expenses. Bar service is great, wine service is basic red, white and rose. Not recommended for wine lovers.

    The entertainment staff is great. Highly talented and very personable performers. the shows were interesting and they get guests involved. The pool design is great but they allow smoking in the pool and that is just a disaster.

    Beach is gorgeous but it is an hour and a half ride through some rough parts of Jamaica from the Mobay airport. It can kill a good portion of your first and last day just getting there.

Due to the very different evaluations here on HolidayCheck we were very strained, as the hotel really is. To that i can only say, that all the expectations fulfilled and even surpassed! When we arrived at the hotel the first surprise. The check-in, we were right a free zimmerupgrade offered. We had a junior suite with a partial view of the ocean and got a junior suite oceanfront-direct view of the ocean. Have on 300 Euro more when booking cost ☺ the room was very spacious and very clean. Everything worked immaculately. Wi-fi in the room was inclusive, so you ... email or skype contact to Germany could, without a 2 00 €handyrechnung to get. The all inclusive food was also satisfactory. To each buffet there were other dishes, always in sufficient amounts and good quality were available. If you didn't find one, could with vorbestellung in one of the 4 à la carte restaurants. The types of people were as everywhere in Karibik much of us citizens and canadians coined/shaped. Who and with the way these guests is, the should not its vacation rather not in Karibik spend. I personally like this kind of his holiday also not, one could however also well refrain from, because the hotel also quieter beaches offers, where the shouting from the pool not easier. read hotel review

    Our room was as already described above very clean and spacious. It was well equipped. There was a fan over the bed, a good air conditioning, a safe, ironing board and iron, a daily the minibar was filled, a hair dryer, a mirror, a coffee maker and tea. And above the minibar a drink station for spirit drinks with rum, whiskey, wodky and brandy. Also a flat screen tv with german channels and an alarm clock radio and a telephone were available. The best was the view of the turquoise Karibik, the you every morning unimpaired with a cup of coffee in hand on the large balcony could enjoy.

    The restaurants and bars were from the number was perfectly sufficiently and also the quality of the meals and drinks were very good. A beach bar would have been nice. However, constantly waiter along the beach to take orders and thus the lack of beach bar to replace. In the restaurants has is very clean. Immediately were empty plates and glasses or the latter also without request refilled. At the buffet there were different theme evenings, where a deeper insight into typical jamaican cuisine was won. You was warm, also always international cuisine found. From steak to fish and veganem food there was everything. The waiters were as i have already mentioned very forestalling and on their very relaxed and typical jamaican way. Here everything was really no problem you. If you appreciate, should these also with a tip honor, even if it from the waiters not 'forced' is. I just thought, that is, if a service good is provided!

    The service in the hotel was really excellent. From the front desk to the cleaning maids and gardeners were all extremely nice and courteous. The cleaning of the rooms was the best, which i in Karibik have ever experienced. They went on extra wishes like for instance more coffee and towels in the room as a, how our desired service hour. If the maid had said something, then she made the whole stay so, as requested. Once at thanks a lot to olive. (this was a 1 plus with asterisks ☺ One small downside there is however in the hotel. Foreign languages were as good as not at all available. Neither at the front desk nor at the entertainment was multi-lingual talking. We had no problems with this and managed to navigate our way, but just returned for the evening shows, it would be already beautiful, if these multi-lingual hosts would. Simply also out of respect for the other nationalities across the street, as there were at any time also guests in the hotel, whose mother tongue is not english. But the rest of the service at the hotel outstanding was, i am not sun.

    The activities we didn't really take part, but in the evenings the shows. This were very good and professionally done and sometimes also very entertaining. As i have already mentioned it would have been nice, if one these multi-lingual would undertake. The condition of the beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.. Is very good. No saggy chairs or rusty showers at the beach. Apparently it is very important, because the couches through the american guests already high burdens to make. A disco in the hotel isn't available, but there are in Negril in the surplus. Also a kids club, i have not noticed. A spa is available, we however not used. There is also a small gift shop, a small casino and a strandladen for airbeds and all the.

    The hotel is about 10-12 kilometer north of the ' stadt'zentrum of Negril in the beautiful bloody bay. (in my opinion much nicer than the 7 mile beach) the transfer time to the airport is about 1,5 hours. Negril is a relatively small village, the history as a fishing village still very look at them. However, it is everything was available, what you need. From the atm on shopping centres and souvenir shops to bars and clubs. Excursions were directly in the lobby and also from the travel agency. Whoever for nature, flora and fauna are interested in Jamaica spot on. In the whole Karibik i have no greener island. Where you only look one sees with jungle-covered hills and a river after the next.

The hotel is in all the Riu Palace standard, it is a or other Tlc, but it is constantly being worked on, The majority the vacationer are americans, with their renowned practices-but this should All be aware, the in Karibik holiday (everything else is naive). Although from us for good, but also drawbacks. A big difference to the Riu Palace hotels in Europa. The hotel was american hochzeitsgruppen flooded, the then also gladly times the specialty restaurants fully booked. The food in the 'steakhouse' was rather bad, in the ' krystal ' we liked it. It would have been desirable, when in these restaurants something else than the house wine would have given. Would be nice also been, if you have the 'dress code' better had been taken into account, or the staff in this more out would have. What we also here was missing ..., was a pool for swimming, a pool was the party zone, a the playground. Loud noise from the entertainment, of course completely on the american market cut, blödsinnige pool-sauf-games. The ocean fantastic, beach could have been better cleaned. The complex otherwise is very well maintained, the staff polite, the rooms were always outstanding. We had one of in the house 7, unfortunately somewhat louder, since the road to round. This is now the first time, that we a hotel not recommend could. As mentioned by a previous reviewers noticed the hotel has Ballermann-character. Already for breakfast the los. The beach animation is so loud, that a breakfast in peace is not possible. That runs through to the evening. There is no possibility, in the evening in peace a glass of wine to drink, because the shows (and the powdered ice guests) are extremely noisy and all bars nearby the stage are. You hear the whole day a cocktail of loud music, noisy entertainers with mediocre games (the winner must ... open their mouths and gets a rumflasche recognized until he left and right down runs) and raucous guests. That is what we expect from a star hotel! Also a complaint was no hearing. A pinching door was despite 3 maliger complaint during our stay not repaired. Depending on the temperature and humidity had to the door with violence imprinted are. Of course there was also good. The food was consistently excellent exactly like the choice. The beach is wonderful and maintained, exactly like the grounds. The staff is very friendly. Strange was also, that for dinner on the terrace free tables not could be taken, because the were reserved (which however according to reception!). That means even if still 3 or 4 tables were free you had to violendy tip, to sit there to ☹ A shame actually, we had us with our first booking a Riu Palace hotels a higher standard expected. Will probably in future again one from the palladium chain take. Tip for excursions (for example Rick's Café) the hotel taxi service, but simply onto the street go and a normal taxi (the same route if someone from the hotel onto the street goes). A great hotel with wonderful staff. Always very helpful and friendly, typical jamaican art. Because of the vicinity are very many americans and canadians in the hotel represented on the the entertainment is laid out. It is a shame a little, that no direct shopping possibilities or bars /restaurants nearby to find. Who kilometer-long beach walks make would like, is here unfortunately not in good hands, because the hotel in the bloody bay is. All together however a very nice hotel with wonderful staff and a top-service. read hotel review

The palace tropical bay is an older representative of the Riu Palace hotels, it was opened in the year 2001. Thus already 10 years on the embossment. Altogether the building, if i remember rightly, on 416 rooms. These are on several buildings with maximally 3 floors, so that actually never the feeling from sturdiness arises. For the quite long period of existence the hotel is altogether in a first-class condition, all furnishings are clean and tidy. The rooms one sees its long lifetime not really at, you have to look very accurate with minor flaws to discover. In respect to ... the food it is only with all inclusive bookable. Wi-fi, the building now actually in all areas, including rooms, free of charge. The connection is simple and reliable. The guest structure of the hotel is clearly american style, complemented by many canadians. German guests are regularly on location, but clearly in the minority. read hotel review

    The rooms were in facilities and condition, very good, their age not really noticeable. Everything worked spotless, only points were the defected hair-dryer and a evening without hot water. Both were taken care of immediately. The beds are exemplary comfortable and very big. Daily reliable stocked minibar. The soundproofing could be better.

    The hotel has a main restaurant and 4 specialty restaurants, a fusion-food gourmet restaurant, a japanese, an italian and a steakhouse. Except for the latter we all visited. The atmosphere in the theme restaurants was most pleasant, the food quality was very good. The same also applies to the dishes in the main restaurant. Overall the diversity not quite up to the level of other palace hotels, but nevertheless still very good. The kitchen is varied, the service courteous and fast, sometimes almost zealous though. The reason for me still only 4 suns rating, is located in the wine. The in the restaurant isn basiswein is simply not enjoyable and fuselniveau. This is a house of Riu-group level absolutely unworthy. More on that later.

    The service and a friendliness of the staff was exemplary. The reception team is very competent and at all times cooperative. The defected hair-dryer in my parents has 2 hours repaired. The employees are very polite and nice, try always to do everything. The cleaning of the rooms was exemplary, in the form of the evening turn down service almost too carefully. My room was always cleaned and well maintained. Fremdsprachenkenntnisse are almost not available, so english should you in your luggage. A german-speaking staff at the front desk was initially available. She was very competent and at all times approachable, it has during our stay the building to leave a change. Currently speaks no staff german. Additional services by us not taken into account.

    The sport is was all well arranged. The entertainment offers soccer, aerobics and Volleyball. The fitness studio is well-appointed, the devices technically alright. The animation was overall alright, partly by the pool very loud, but not too obtrusive. The evening shows were always quite similar, partly but of good quality. Beach chairs and towels were absolutely sufficient, the beach chairs but much more uncomfortable than by the pool. Umbrellas are in the number of too few. The pool was clean and maintained, without restrictions.

    The tropical bay is located right next to the beach, without through a street or similar from this being separated. The way from the reception the beach is, unlike in many other palace hotels, just 50 metres away. The beach was flat, the sand was fine and the water crystal clear. All in all but other caribbean beaches, especially the Playa Bavaro in the dominican republic, much nicer and more. Long beach walks are not possible, as the one side, it is restricted by a nature reserve and the other since by a privatabschnitt. Here one is also consistently on further inhibited. The place Negril is by taxi within easy reach. By foot is theoretically possible, however one must then the main street walk, which definitely not recommendable is. In Negril there are numerous of shopping and food, including the famous Rick's Café and even Burger King. Taxis are in the hotel, as well as directly on the street without problem. The fare must be urgently before are negotiated. Desk numerous offered, especially the ys-falls and the black river are very recommendable. Directly on the other side of the street there is a small domestic, this did not disturb us however not. There are only a few small turbopropmaschinen on the day.

    The building are a bit outdated - but well maintained. Today you would door seals and a little bigger bathrooms for a hotel in the palace category expect. Terrace with chairs. Air conditioner was pleasantly quiet. Beds rückenschonend hard. Large fridge, coffee maker, ice machine on the ground floor each building.

Huge selection already for breakfast: sparkling wine, freshly squeezed juices, pancakes, waffles, omelet fresh to order, smoked salmon, cereals, sausage, cheese and so on. Also in the evening wide choice - should something for everyone his. Always fish and seafood for offer. Buffet area very clean. Tip very welcome, but not expected.

    Optimal beach area, small domestic opposite didn't bother (few propeller aircraft during the day). To the airport montego bay 1,5 hours taxi or rental car. Shops and pubs in Negril downtown by taxi circa 15 Dollar just. Excursions with minibuses or rental car at least an hour's drive for example delphinpark lucea, y. s. Waterfalls.

Also the Riu v club in Negril) the hotel you can only praise.     Can the partly bad reviews not understand. Certainly repeated here and there and unfortunately, there was also much ' amerkianisiertes food'. The dishes were nevertheless very tasty and always fresh. I need only think of the filet steak perfectly medium rare prepared... As snacks are available a selection of pizza, burgers and co. - around the hour... Steakhouse you could take, krystal we were, although delicious unfortunately not full...

    Staff overall very efficient even without many tips. Always for a fun. Special thanks at Andrew our ' stammbarkeeper', and Sandy and vranessa from the animation team. Unfortunately 2 days no towels and even not the mini bar filled up got. But there were also again a housekeeping in the evening, the a helps.

    There is something for everybody. Unfortunately the shows partly in week 2 weiderholt. What the entertainment team and the dance group delivers is absolute top class. Michael, one of the ' chefanimateure' has a wahnsinnsleistung the acrobatics show shown. Mulitalent. Pool was always full with americans, the nothing better to do than the whole day the pool bar to besiege. But honestly, with a beach, no pool.

    Great directly at the bloody-bay, which certainly not much worse than the 7 mile beach. Negril even with bars etc. And rick's one reaches really good with the taxi (definitely price before negotiate, more than 10 to 15 euros should not for a ride) transfer to the airport about 70 minutes. For excursions i recommend this over Claudia suleiman to book. Individually be put together yourself in small groups or private kennts you actually land and people and stops also gladly times for a beautiful sunset.
