The price-performance ratio of this hotel is excellent. The hotel offers for a city break the essential: a very good access to the metro system. The next bus stop is right around the block -2 minutes from the hotel. The used by us room was obviously been renovated recently. Especially the bathroom left a very good and clean impression. The equipment includes not only the obligatory flat screen tv and the air conditioning, but also had a fridge and microwave. The room rate included a breakfast included. The choice is manageable, but for a quick start in the day enough. ... Friendly staff filled constantly after. The breakfast room is not too big. Than one day a full grade for breakfast seemed, the places were quickly taken. The only drawback: there is only 1 elevator. At times it is busy and it means waiting. Alternative: stairs use, if the rooms are not as with us in the 9. floor. Pool or other leisure facilities are not available. If you on this or similar facilities with a city journey is important, must pay more. The hotel is located in a relatively quiet corner of brooklyn in the neighborhood of garages (Google. Maps). The gorges of Manhattan usual sirenenaufheulen at night we didn't miss. read hotel review

We had to for one night in an area in the basement with half window staying. It was cold and heater made for warmth and noise. Sleep was not possible. On the following day was a water damage in the entire basement and we were given a new room in one of the upper floors. This corresponded in for instance the description of catalog. read hotel review

The hotel is located good! Convenient transport (3 minutes on foot to the u-bahn), only one or two stops to the expressionen getting! The area is quiet, but not dead. So there are different small restaurants, shops, gas stations and a McDonald's in the perimeter of around 10 minutes away on foot. The hotel is clean and tidy. Inconvenient, that there was only a lift (it is still highly and down ☺ ). Nevertheless i recommend a room in a high floor in the back of the hotel. Here one has a very nice views of the manhattan skyline. The ... breakfast from plastic dishes is unusual but plentiful, varied and tasty. It is not a problem food with to the room to take. You could also coffee and water in bottles carry forward! You notice overall, that the staff a lot of effort and to take care! Therefore i give both for the quality, as well as for the overall impression a good overall rating! Tip for low budget travelers: ordered food at 'Mario's' ( hellgrüner flyer, simply at the front desk questions). Here there were delicious, big portions at very reasonable prices! read hotel review

The rooms are not very large, were but sufficient. There we the city to looked at, we were anyway only there for sleeping. And despite 3 women the scheme has in the bathroom worked very well! We had a fridge, a coffee maker and microwave in the room. Used we but apart from the fridge nothing. The rooms were quiet at night and you could sleep well. If you at night the windows open left, it was of course a little bit louder, but help ear plugs! However, if you a room on the 1 floor has, then one comes into the 'basement' and has only small window! Since maybe at check in say, that one a room on one of the upper floors would like to have.

  • Gastronomy
    5.0

Breakfast is typically american, but nevertheless ok. Bagels, pancakes, cereals, cinnamon rolls, toast and omelets were the mainstay. But there were also every day fresh fruits. Cheese and sausage were not offered, but jam, cream cheese, honey and Nutella. So a cute breakfast. At the forks you had to but to get used to. We were usually at 7 o'clock and have always found a free table. There is also 2 machines with drinks and sweets, if the small hunger strikes.

The hotel is located a bit remote. The area is not the best, but nevertheless sure. At the intersection, there is a delicious diner, by we often ate. The prices there are fair and not so overvalued just like it is in the restaurants in the 5. avenue, only 2 blocks away. The subway is also at the crossroads, on foot 2 minutes from the hotel.

We must the hotel our praise. The check in and check out in the hotel have worked very well. When you can on day of departure his suitcase in a trunk avoid. The receptionists are very friendly been. The daily breakfast from 06,30-10 hours does not correspond to the German standards but for a american breakfast and a strengthening in the day perfect. For breakfast, there is pancakes, Kellogg's, yoghurt, milk, coffee, tea, juice, fruit ( apel/banana), various desserts ( muffin, zimtrolle, puddingteile etc.) sausages, käseomelett, toast, bagels fresh and jams. The rooms with 2 king-size beds are ... large enough. Who however a room right next to the ice machine gets could at night one or another A crisis, but was only twice the case with us. To the Times Square with the metro about 30 minutes without having to change with the yellow line. read hotel review

The hotel is a merry tourist venue, popular apparently german. All of the staff are extremely friendly, in a good mood and helpful. Habituation needy is the disposable dishes for breakfast - the however is really ok, with a big selection of american treat (the pancake -machine very bothersome and the coffee-quality from the 'duty' the morning-shift depends!). The rooms are big enough (unfortunately missing a safe), the climate -facilities is completely okay, the hand towels are huge and fluffy, the view from the window on the backyard to Manhattan is charming. Less than 100 meters there is a subway ... (about 20 minutes to Manhattan), the immediate vicinity of the hotel is, although a little bit shabby, even in the middle of the night completely harmless, and only one to two blocks away (especially at the 5. ave from brooklyn) were plenty of good to very good restaurants - the area is very popular at young families from all over the world. In short: very pleasant and inexpensive base for a new york-tour-better than most, which you could clearly more expensive in Manhattan finds. read hotel review

Fridge we were on request brought immediately. We had a room the courtyard and a room to the street. Zweiteiliges was a bit too loud and the lift did his remaining. The Styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery you will enjoy less expensive hotels probably used to. This we knew from Florida not. There was yoghurt, egg and genuine rolls and fresh fruit. Sausage and variety you are looking for however in vain. A Pick-up from the hotel is not possible, also, no cheque Vacances exchanged respectively an American plug be awarded. We already better met. Altogether we were satisfied, if ... the NY -price and would stay there again to spend a night, because it was cheap at the subway is at night and you don't have to be afraid. read hotel review

The Holiday Inn Express in Brooklyn is during the day a nondescript hotel, outside of Brooklyn. It is in a dark area and is surrounded by many garages and metal scrap yards. However you can also in the immediate area Nights in numerous pubs and bars spend. The Metro Station is however only a stone's throw away, and the subway one is about minutes in Manhattan. The rooms are in good condition, are very small, however very comfortable and clean. Annoying, that the air conditioning typical American on ice age programd. Also a safe there were in our room not. ... But a coffee machine and plastic cup. As well as the entire 'dishes' for breakfast plastic or cardboard. If you want a German breakfast is accustomed, should its expectations limit. Also the quality of the food left nothing to the imagination, it mainly consisted of finished products. Value for money was satisfactory and if you the location in Brooklyn, and the 'bad' breakfast in purchase takes, you can this hotel really only recommend. read hotel review

We (40/32) were although it is only for 5 days in this hotel, but unfortunately we got there at night not peace. Every guest left to each daily and nighttime the door in the lock fall. From; I myself have tried the door silent to close ( unfortunately without success; the castles leave it not to ). The rooms were very small ( but 2 huge beds), no safety deposit box available, no balcony. Our window went to the street and since unfortunately at night for three-quarters hours trash collection and opposite also a hall with some spaces for LAG ..., was sleeping rarely to think. The breakfast was OK; there was a lot of choice. 24 hours coffee/ tea fruit and the coffee was even delicious! The staff was very friendly, but the helped after little sleep mostly not-o to strenuous sightseeing days you really need a peaceful hotel; this is not possible; a pity! read hotel review

My double room for single use was big enough, and functional( desk, closet, armchair, double bed, adjustable air conditioning, separate bathroom. the room and the bathroom were clean and every day presented. change of towels, Good smooth. A coffee machine, large tv and telephone with included also facilities. A safe was not in the room to find.

I had booked accommodation with breakfast, which in the breakfast room on the first floor could be eaten. The choice was limited, for the start to the day but sufficient: Different teas and coffees, orange juice, Toast, muffins, jams, milk, yoghurt, a fruit, muesli, scrambled egg, fried. Bacon. Everything is self-service and (for us Europeans unthinkable) on crockery and- cutlery laid out. the tables were in between anytime again cleaned and the buffet refilled.

the staff are very friendly and helpful, but only English speaking. The cleaning the room with change of towels and beds make was cleaned every day and no cause for complaints. A from the hotel- staff recommended car service to the airport was on time and easy.

the hotel lies in the city of Brooklyn. Since I about Newark traveled, fühten trip there and back through Manhattan. It took the drive about 40 minutes. Small shops options for shopping, restaurants, (Breakfast) cafes, McDonalds are on the fourth Ave. to find. A subway station of line R which after Manhattan or Southern Brooklyn, with transfer to Coney Island) or more possibilities the change for areas in Manhattan offers, is only about 100 meters away (Union street corner fourth Ave.). also on this corner is a large gas station, 500 meters north (Atlantic ave.) is the long island railroad station)

The HI Brooklyn features 115 guestrooms. We had a room with 2 full size to 3 king size beds, the room and bathroom were clean, with TV and air conditioning you excellent couldnt. For 3 people but the size of the room was almost too small, so we had to arrange storing the suitcase somewhat on the floor, chairs and table. From Newark Liberty International Airport to reach the hotel with the best but who wants to airport shuttle or with the airport bus (every 15 minutes) to the Port Auditory (bus station) and from there take the subway line R to Unionstreet). From there it is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The surrounding area is a bit hard to get used to, there is a garage on the other, whereas the area at night now never "creepy" is. There's a small 24 -hour. -Supermarket 5 minutes away from the hotel on foot there costs only 1.25 USD (the supermarket is also right at the Subwaystation Unionstreet). There is also an bakery with delicious and cheap bagels across the gas station also five minutes' walk from the hotel, as well as a pizzeria and small restaurants. With the subway line R the journey takes approximately 25 minutes to Manhattan.

The hotel itself is not very large and I think/no particularly beautiful location. However The cleanliness is absolutely fine. The women gave a lot of effort and it is always made sure that it is tidy and clean. The breakfast was absolutely enough! with corn flakes sorts of, yogurt, eggs, cinnamon rolls, several different types of breads, bacon, egg, cream cheese, jam and juices. Typically American, but it is in America! read hotel review

The room was very small. The TV supsrised. Between the bed and the cupboard.was not enough room to go through the bags and you could not do whatever you want. But actually you are only in the room to sleep because you are too busy New York to ask. The bathroom, however, was truly sufficient and bathtub.

The surrounding area has I personally didn't like whereas if you needed some steps go further, on the main road it was already a lot better. The underground is only few minutes and you really all underground lines the the heart could possibly want on a spot. 20-25 minutes and you are in the heart of Manhattan.

POSITIVE: Contemporary hotel, for the short trip was more than adequate, daily newspaper every morning was outside the door (free), always full breakfast buffet - no one has to go hungry! Coffee tasted particularly delicious. Underground station around the corner (approx. 2 Minutes by foot), some bars and smaller restaurants as well as kiosk nearby. NEGATIVE: First impression on the day of arrival: positions (". teenagers loved") 3 staff in front of the hotel. No matter what time you came, at least one there was always only rum. The ladies at the front desk were rarely friendly, mostly rejuvenate faces. ... It seems the a block up to the job. The corridors in the hotel smells pushy of cigarette smoke. Unfortunately we had caught a smoking room. The cleaning staff went out room freshener trouble. However, cookies in the carpet 4 days up to our leaving the hotel unnoticeably (they were both already on arrival in it ). By the way we had a complaint (you hear a customer complained about a not maintained, zugesagtes non smoking room). The lady at the front desk not willing to modify ("is not our problem, scheduling error blah. Etc") - she was totally unfriendly, prior to several other guests, for minutes! Maybe the staff a common problem with "white" guests, so unfortunately our impression. read hotel review

Generally, the hotel is ok, it lived up to its 2.5 star standard. Brooklyn might not be the most beautiful residential area but the hotel is well located, it has good access to downtown and there is definitely cheaper than a hotel RIGHT in Manhattan. Room was clean, relatively spacious (with 4 people occupied) with 2 beds for 4 people with bags! Breakfast was included (rare for the United States) The guest structure was mixed, very international and mainly young people. The hotel was neatly arranged features 115 rooms, a small breakfast room and a computer station with Internet ... access. elevator. It's located right on a little busy road. Had a room facing the street, was almost nothing to hear at night. Wireless Internet access is available in the complete hotel free of charge. Parking about $20 per day read hotel review

The rooms are clean, with bath/shower, WC, hairdryer, telephone, TV, CD player, coffeemaker, iron/ironing board and air conditioning and they all king size beds. Towels and hairdryer are provided. With long hair is recommended to take a take your own hair-dryer. Also remember the you an adapter for hair dryer/rechargers and similar need.

We had breakfast included. From a 2.5 star hotel is of course a luxury buffet. There was oranges and red orange juice from the drinks dispenser, Irreconcilable coffee and hot chocolate, as well as tea, milk and water. Almost every morning it was burger for those who like it, Bagle and toast, sausages, cheese, jams and a cereal. We were full! (If that wasn't enough, in every corner of New York there is a Starbucks or similar).

The friendliness of the staff left some staff members to be desired, other they were all very polite and helpful. There is no German was spoken. Our room was in the first night overbooked even though we checked in in the morning when we arrived to no one had been told, were until 11 hours in the city and return after (all tired) we had to at the sister hotel in the butler Street to move. The lady at the front desk was very nice, though and suited our needs for that night to anyone to take a single room with a queen-size bed.

With subway are we about 30 minutes to the city center. the station is 4-5 minutes walk from the hotel. We are always from the station Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street with the YELLOW line right through the via bookings.com; in Florida without switching (which runs through to Times Square). On the subway plan are all stations mood, depending on where to get off. The gentleman at the underground station (sales) was very friendly and helpful, can provide information about etc. Just approached! In de there are supermarkets where you could get very cheap (especially water/drink) shopping. For a 1 liter bottle of you pay, depending on brand, not even $1 ! The JFK airport is about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic by foot. We are with a shuttle, about 70 -$80 one way. Be careful because the a rip us off. definitely want to negotiate a price BEFORE. The Brooklyn Bridge is a good half hour drive away. Travelled over many drive by bike, next time I would also make.
