It has 37 tents, some have views of the Mara-river and other into the wide land of the Masai Mara. Everything in safaristil. Clean. Wi-fi available. Full board. Payment with credit card possible. All invoices (drinks & souvenirs) are at the end of the stay paid. While we were there, there were not all tents occupied. So were the food only 5-8 tables at night at the campfire. To 90% were the guests older than we. Mainly english guests, we were the only german guests. read more

Our tent had a very comfortable double bed, a table with mirror, space for clothes, large bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower. Running water, cold and warm. Everything was clean. Electricity for hair dryer/there was only one central body. The kameraaufladen was smooth in the tent possible.

The food all meals was very good. Water was included 1 fl. Tusker -beer cost 400 Schilling, 1 small fl. Cola 200 Schilling and a bottle of wine from 25/30 American Dollar. To eat we sat on the lawn or on the campfire. That was a wonderful feeling to nature to see and in peace to food. The tables of the guests were also pleasant far apart. Tips we gave a Dollar per meal. In the morning there was always coffee in the tent. Afternoon coffee included

Everyone was very friendly. Everything in english. By the employees you felt very welcome! The ranger, the us always with a smile welcomed, showed us at night as well hippos and krokodiele. By Richard and clement we felt at mealtimes, we would our own servants. Especially Richard convinced with small stories and its friendliness. In the evening we always got a hot-water bottle into the tent to get, as it is at night only 18 °c was . The operator of the camp's ( Phillip and wife) welcomed us personally and asked often, if everything is okay, but overall, they seemed to us distant and fake. A shame!

Relaxing with coffee on the open bar with a view of the Mara. 3 times daily game drives. A pool does not exist, we did not also miss.

It was an airplane safari. We had 3 calls, not every good everyones, until we finally in the western Masai Mara and on the runway of the governo's camp had arrived. However it was worth it. Directly on the Mara-river, in the wild nature, unfenced. Only nature around, super! If i the eyes would and i the pictures bearing in mind, i get a smile on the lips.

We stayed in the little governors camp. You will be rewarded with a small boat from the' parking' on the Mara-river on the side of the camps brought. The tents are very nicely furnished, the staff are extremely nice and helpful. From the veranda respectively the esstischen you a very good view on the' marsh', where a variety of animals ( Nilpfederde, buffalo, warthogs, various birds, wildebeests, antelopes, etc.) during. The drivers are very experienced and take you to the most beautiful places of the Masai Mara, as well as the 'big five' Because it evenings but a bit ... cool, you can with the other guests outside around the campfire or in the bar aufwären. If you walk in to the tent, has been waiting with the help of hot water bottles, preheated bed to the guests. Before the hunting early in the morning, Alternatively coffee, tea or choco served on the veranda. read more

We booked a 3-day airplane safari in Masai Mara over weight-safaris at the beach from Diani Beach booked. We were the governors camp recommended. Stay there was wonderful. Already the view of our tent in the savanna could not be better. There were daily from the terrace from lots of animals to watch. The daily safaris were very impressive. Our driver jackson showed us safe and competent (almost) all animals, which we had expected. The service and the friendliness in the camp were not to beat (thanks to Peter, Tito, Daniel and all other 'good spirits '). The food was ... delicious. By an acute illness of our daughter we had to the stay a day longer. It worked without problems and the manager gave us this extra day free available. This generosity had we not expected and thank you again very much for that. Since the camp a doctor on site, it was our daughter very well taken care of, also free of charge. Thanks to dr. gideon. At night there was a very interesting noise around the tents, as elephants, hippos and other animals to foraging through the camp run. We are sure, always guard on site are and be careful. The governors camp is really recommendable. Who african wildlife pur experience and is feel entirely at ease would, should for this camp decide. read more

The Governors camp in Masai Mara was attractive tent camp is, but also that you must pay. The facilities, the service and the food is comparable Loges and camps on the whole in the Mara. If you are a bit special due to the name and history has hoped was perhaps a little disappointed. Service and atmosphere were good, but for Kenya and nothing exceptional Mara. In my opinion you pay here just because of the location, at a higher price than in most other places. The camp was located directly on the Mara river is not fenced and you ... get some of elephants and transportation. The tents are large and spacious with a separate, tiled wet areas. In the immediate vicinity of the camps one finds the big five and especially lions leopards are beautiful and you almost on every Gamedrive to see. The trip was opened to photo hunt Rovers. The driver of the camps know the best places with a photo shot guarantee, so that drivers from further afield lodges and camps their guests the Gamedrive Governors camp to put the heart. read more

We didn't know what we can expect and were extremely positive surprised the! The front desk was friendly, helpful and competent! The accommodations were amazing tent, we never would have expected such a bathroom in a tent. It was much better than in our beach hotel (the sands at nomad in diani beach)! Lunch was offered as a buffet, and dessert were brought. Dinner was served in the tent opened. We skipped the breakfast and a picnic in Lake Nakuru instead. We were lucky, with Sapio, our guide and driver were alone in the Land Rovers, so that we had ... no Community decisions meeting. So we had a night two trips, the three former would (before and after breakfast). We wished we could have stayed in the Governors another night, but no other Safari, so without further game-drive-five hours Geruckel by the Bush sufficient and we had, except for the Rheino, also the big four ☺ seen. Coming from the camp and is in the middle of nature. at night the elephants came, there were approximately 20 piece, the satisfactions early on the beach because we had seen. it's a must see experience! The personnel, the camp at night a guard bring in the evening and in the morning for tent or car, only enterprises are prohibited-we also know why in the meantime! If we ever go back to Africa and enjoy, again at any time in the Masai Mara and immediately return to the Governors camp! You should take enough cash, since the drinks are more expensive than on the coast and there is no money exchange possibilities, in the middle of the boonies! Cards and dollar, euro and CC! read more

after a three day stay in 'Royal Mara' I am with my friends in two days. former governors camp except for the size of the tents and the decor was better than in the restaurant was decided. both Royal the cleanliness in all areas, as well as the food from breakfast to dinner in the evening in discussions with the assistant manager and manager you can see clearly their commitment to the whole area. both are only a little under a year but it is plain to see as almost perfect grip on it. a well-equipped Land Rovers relay made ... for exciting and pleasant Safari trips this is three times daily and include in the price for the night. all in all I would say: highly recommended! read more

'.Places that touch your soul' The camp was Governors us by the manager of the sands at nomad the, by diani beach, Richard, recommended. The tip was priceless. The camp was located directly on the Mara Airs trip. We were picked up by our guide, Joash, right on the Airs trip and camp at a nice, friendly Einwesung accompanied. Since the camp without fence directly at the Mara is in the camp everywhere a friendly, also on guard accompany round. The camp was located directly on the Mara river and you can watch from your tent from crocodiles, hippos ... and countless birds. The tent is very luxuriously equipped with everything you need (photos). In the morning you will be woken up with coffee or tea in the first game drive. Our driver Joash is 16 years since Governors camp and shows clearly his experience. The vehicles in Governors camp are old but in excellent condition usually four or six seats and open to the sides. We stayed at during our first game drive to face got was just great. Lions and cheetahs in their morning crack, elephant herds, Büffelherden, Gnuherden, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, jackals, impalas, gazelles and much more. And above all, no minibuses from an animal for the next race to the general meeting. You could choose the breakfast in the camp or on the way. Richard gave us the tip not in the camp to which was perfect. Breakfast is served by the Mara river, Joash the ample breakfast, salads, fruit, different breads to the bonnet. Everything between the river horse families, crocodiles and so on for lunch it was back to the camp, there waiting for us, the restaurant is amazingly clean. From the table we could enjoy the size of the Masai Mara and wildlife. The dinner in the evening à la carte is served. read more

The camp was located in the middle of the Masai Mara and offers a wonderful atmosphere. If you're staying in tents, with firm ground. There are two large beds available, a dresser, and a clean, large bathroom with shower available. The immediate location in the park it could happen, that at night 'visitor' in their ability to communicate in other, as the animals have not passed through a fence separated. The tents are guarded by the Rangern. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious. read more

As already described by other guests, this camp is an experience, the proximity to the animals is an experience. we were surprised by the food on site, since the temperature in the night somewhat cooler (with us about twelve degrees) the ladies get a bed bottle in the bed, the coffee is served by six o'clock bed. This Safari is highly recommended. Unfortunately our trip had a small flaws, the price. We had booked already in Germany over TUI for 1029, -€, TUI offered but the same Safari for 815, -€ to. The beach Boys require 720, -€ (POP), no ... matter where you book, you can sit in the same plane, in the camp there is no difference. read more

We were for the second time in the Masai Mara, diesemal Gove nors camp-and in it was again super. This camp has impressed us even more, because there is no fences is so both worlds instead of just for everyone is. In the night the animals come to the camp and walk/creep around the tent, there is however still absolutely sure, as long as you not leave the tent! in the opinion of the night is prohibited. For dinner you will be picked up by a ranger in the tent and dropped off again, nothing happened to this. Here is ... very well looked after, so you in spite of the many unusual noises around the tent around need not have any fears in this respect. The food is excellent, lunch and evenings there were two menus to choose from-What is excellent; I think we can compete with an award-winning restaurant. The game drive was great, we stayed here twice for breakfast 'outside', that is to say, we didn't get back to the camp, but on the river protected picniced. In the evening if you tell us in advance, organise everything, you get a great deal with the breakfast, even hot coffee/tea. It definitely stay here again a great experience, we saw a lot and never experienced. One must simply enjoy and take-and you can see much. Thanks to our driver and guide Matutu Dominik. As my wife and I will definitely go back there again. in September 2010 read more
